I'm happier with Biden as VP as well. On another note, my daughter just called me and she is so excited. She is attending the Children's Concert (the Jonas Brothers are performing) with friends who had tickets and Michelle Obama is speaking. She called so that I hear some of the speech. :thumbsup2

I'm watching the children's concert on Disney Channel right now. There is a lot of excitement!

:)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Our friend who is in D.C. for the inauguration and is attending one of the balls, said that after the plane landed this morning and everyone stood up and started getting their luggage down, someone on the plane yelled out, "Obama!" and everyone on the plane started clapping and cheering. She said that positive energy and happiness is everywhere in D.C.

Sorry you weren't able to make it, PR. At least you have friends there who can give you updates. Take care of yourself!

It sure comes out on TV...man does it look like something special is going down in DC!!!....I am taking work off tommorow and soaking it all in. The juxtaposition of Dr. Kings birthday and the innauguration tommorow was so poignant, and seeing all the faces of color from all over the country on the mall is so uplifting!!! 16 HOURS!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

my god....I am actually watching this....WHY????:happytv: :happytv:

It's the kool-aid. I just can't help myself!

:rotfl2:

Actually, just wanted to see the beginning. My kids are still too little for all of this (thank goodness!) :goodvibes

The "S" stands for "Squirtgirl"

Well, my goodness! That's exactly what I look like, except I usually wear my hair in a beehive, have cat-eye glasses, and have at least one brown tabbycat wrapped around my neck.

True story: I was on a plane to DC from Little Rock for the Bush inauguration in 2001. No one cared, no excitement. I did notice a few faux cowboys in boots, but that was about it. Talk about exciting--not.

Hola Libs-

Qucik story before I go make dinner.

Coming out of the grocery store (out of arugula;) )there's a F350 parked next to me and the dude who owns it is standing behind my car reading my bumper stickers. This really isn't unusual-they always bring comments. So I he has 3 McCain/Palin bumper stickers, and 1 NoBAMA. I have my "Got Hope?" and my "Yes We Did!". SO the guy says-losts like I win. SO I say "Uh, I'm sorry who's being inaugurated tomorrow???". :scratchin

Isn't life serendipitous:goodvibes .

Be back later peeps!

Ha ha. We both ran into good old boys today, only mine was better because he was a good liberal. You don't live in the south, do you?

I think Jill stepped in some do-do. They have already released a retraction. I'm sure this will be the talks on all the talk shows tomorrow too. I wish she hadn't said that. It makes it look like Clinton was his second pick.

Eh. I don't think it was a huge deal. It's probably not a surprise that they work a lot of this stuff out ahead of time.

I like your new siggy, by the way. My son saw the previews for it and he wants to take his little sister when it comes out.

my god....I am actually watching this....WHY????:happytv: :happytv:

I'm only going to start worrying if you start twirling your hair and popping your gum. Otherwise, I think you might be okay.

That is so awesome for your DD.:thumbsup2

The concert yesterday was fantastic 400,000 people. U2 was outstanding, springsteen is clearly a legend!!...But that Mary J. Blige can sing the hell out of a song!!!:thumbsup2

Chris I knew that was you. Couldn't fool me with that flowing "do". ;)

I missed the concert, I don't have HBO. :sad1: If anyone sees when it will be repeated elsewhere, let me know!

My favorite was Bettye LaVette and Jon Bon Jovi performing A Change is Gonna Come. I'm not a Bon Jovi fan, but he really impressed me yesterday!!

Yes - here is the statement from Joe Biden's office later that day.......

"Like anyone who followed the presidential campaign this summer, Dr. Jill Biden knew there was a chance that President-elect Obama might ask her husband to serve in some capacity and that, given his background, the positions of Vice President and Secretary of State were possibilities. Dr. Biden's point to Oprah today was that being Vice President would be a better fit for their family because they would get to see him more and get to participate in serving more. To be clear, President-elect Obama offered Vice President-elect Biden one job only -- to be his running mate. And the Vice President-elect was thrilled to accept the offer."

The whole thing was awesome!!!

I tried to get my two nephews - ages 11 and 7 to watch - but they got bored and whined until I turned it off - they didn't really like all these "old" people.....

lol

I wish I knew the kids concert was being aired - I would have TiVo'd i for them - I 'm sure they would have liked it better!

I have the same feeling! and I know there will not be coal in my stocking!

No coal. Just free cable, your mortgage paid, and a plasma TV. Yippee!!!!!

Darn kids. If he thought they were old, what would he have thought about Bruce Springsteen?

Who, incidently, will be forever hot no matter how aged.

They don't get the Springsteen attraction. They do love Bon Jovi though - but they hated the song he sang. Kids...... :confused3

I'm going to wake up tomorrow.

It will be like making up after a long nightmare.

A long 8 year nightmare.

Sorry folks, but Bono will always get my vote-grrrrrr!

I guess that's why I married an Irish boy-yup my own little IRA terrorist!;)
