CD Drive??? I missed that Kim... PM me and I'll see what I know (or don't know)

Beth, my Hallmark does not carry them either so I have to go to certain malls to find them. I have, I think, 17 charms on mine and it fits a tad loser than my watch. I also have the matte finish but they are harder to change out. I might buy another matte finish in the future sometime but I think I want to wear that one plain as I like it like that. I think the average person (from what I have been told) wears about 18 or 19 charms. Oh and just for fun, I have tried putting extremely cheapies on mine and so far they have fit, but I wouldn't be shocked at all if some didn't. Just be careful, if you find where they sell them, it is hard to resist. I have resisted several times, but I usually do wind up spending a lot of time talking to the sales people (and fining out tons about the charms and shipments and all that :teeth: )

Kim, I had a CD drive at work that did that. It finally quit working. I think the noise is the "going bad" warning.

So...more bracelet talk.....are the charms a shiny finish? And do they look good with the matte bracelet?

See what you guys have done!! :teeth:
I NEED to go out and find them to really look, but I think I'm too inpatient (of course then I would have it and not have to wait for shipment). Friday!! My day!! I'm demanding it ...and I'm leaving early.

I can see major $$ doing this, but what else is new. I love charm bracelets but don't like the dangly charms. They bother me. I like my watch band a little loose, so that is what I'm looking for in this.
And something I can wear everyday.

Do you know of a site that has retail locations listed?

Thanks, Elaine! I think I may start visiting all the Hallmark stores hereabouts to try to see these things in person. They are really neat and it looks like it could be a lot of fun to collect different charms! I'm kinda leaning toward the shiny finish, but I really like that gold/matte on the dolls&ducks site.

Yes Nancy, the charms are almost all shiny finish (unless specified otherwise) They all look fine together. The reason why I liked the matte was because for a long time I only had a few charms and the shiny get more scratched. Like I said I liked the look of just the plain matte w/o charms too. I do not know of any place that says the locations of where these are sold unfortunately. If you ever find one, let me know ;) I too like charms, but not dangles so this is just fine with me :)

Noisy CDs??? Aack! I have tried looking Kim, but can't find where you mentioned this... was I out for the day?

Hi again Nancy! I'm with you, impatient and don't want to wait for it to come in the mail and don't like the danglies--gets in the way at work!

Well, folks, it's awfully close to bedtime and it's clean sheet day. somehow I got in the habit of changing the sheets every Sunday, so I better get to it so we can get some sleep.

I have a feeling I'm going to be dreaming of charms tonight too......:(

See you all tomorrow. Night-night!!

I hope you sleep better than I did last night. I had charms and bracelets dancing in my head all night. I NEED to get one soon, so I can stop dwelling on it.

Ah...Sunday is clean sheet day here too :) I love clean sheets.

Oh...we're staying home NYE....probably a movie marathon.
I don't know what DD's plans are, but I'm sure they aren't at home with us!! ;)

And Happy anniversary (early...but I'll say it again), Beth!
NY day how nice (easy to remember;) )

My first bracelet was the matte finish... (seems to show scratches less) but since most of the charm links are the shiny finish, it eventually winds up being all shiny anyway. My second bracelet was a freebie because I bought three charms at once at one point... that one is all shiny and definitely has more scratches showing. They've since come out with several styles of starter bracelets... some have hearts, some have gold trim, some are a diamond finish pattern, etc...

This stupid computer is less than a year old... I think I got a bogus CD thingy to begin with... it's been noisy from day one but is terrible now...can't even play music CDs because the sound of the drive drowns out the music. Elaine, the problem is basically just that it is extremely loud, and the speed at which it spins sounds as though it's fluctuating drastically... when I pulled a CD out of it this morning, the CD was still spinning when the drawer opened and the disc was very warm to the touch. Oh well... at least now I truly have something to feel ticked off about, so my mood is a little more justified.

Jay, forget hockey!!!! Stay and talk with us instead :p
Okay, I'm here for a little bit. But this game is sorta like "homework" for me. My boss is a Detroit fan & I'm a Stars fan, so it's "required" watching. ;) This is the 4th time the teams have played this year & they've tied the other three games. Guess what? They're tied right now. :p I'd say they're pretty evenly matched. ;)

Flyers? Um, well, Beth, I'm not much of a Flyers fan, but I like them much better since they got that new coach! :teeth: So I can cheer for them a bit. ;) Especially since they're in a different conference. :)

No worries Beth. I was the first one to use the "screw lose" comment & I haven't heard it much in the last 16 months. Actually, other than my joke.... then yours... um, I'd say zero times. So it's not that old. :) Can I still have the chocolate rum ball??? :teeth: I promise I won't throw it at the TV when the Wings score. :p Happy anniversary!!! Good choice on the day for your anniversary too! Mine is the 31st. :) *Everybody* parties for my anniversary!!! :teeth:

Yoo hooooooo!!!!! Anyone here??? Sheesh.... I say I'll hang out for a bit, then everyone bails out. Okay, okay... so hockey talk isn't big in the Ya Ya lodge. But, gosh... ya'll didn't have to bail out on me so fast. :( Okay, I can take a hint. Back to my game.... Then maybe I'll watch some of the Bond marathon on TNN for a bit (Spy Who Loved Me is on now, then Diamonds are Forever). Now where's that remote?? :)

I'm here....off and on. Jay....happy anniversary early to you too!!
The YaYas seems to have a lot of birthdays and anniversarys around this time.

I'm sorry, not a big hockey fan....well, not a hockey fan at all ;)
My friend's 2 sons play college hockey, does that count? (Of course, I've never watched them play).

So.....Kim, what kind of bracelet would you recommend getting?
If you knew what you do now about them.....what would your first-time choice be?

Bummer. Seems we all keep missing each other tonight. Tom and Cam ran out to the bachelor pad, ILs are watching a movie, and I'm wandering from room to room trying to settle in somewhere. Bed is beginning to look like the best option at this point.

I'm still here.....just looking around (not at bracelets. I want to sleep tongiht!!)

ok, I've got messages to answer and a page to catch up on....but real life hubby thinks I should spend some time with him. So good night all and I will ketchup with you in the morning.

Don't set sail without me :)

 Night Jennifer.

I'm sure we will be right here warming our toes by the fire in the morning ;)

60 seconds
Mayday! Mayday! Kim's brain must've gone to bed without her. Ya lost me there Nancy.

Ummm... as far as the bracelets are concerned... get an Italian brand and make sure it's 18K solid. The matte finish looks nicer in my opinion, which is nice in the beginning when you only have a few charms. When I bought my first one, they didn't have the choices of the different designs available... if I were to get one now, I might look into a matte finish with the edges trimmed in gold... they look very nice. The only problem with those is that the charm links won't have the gold trim. Really it's all just a matter of personal preference... once you see some of them in RL, I'm sure you'll know right away which one will work best for you. :) I'm headed to Hallmark tomorrow to get a few with my gift certif. Tom gave me. I'll be sure and let you guys know which ones I get. :teeth:

Oh yes, let us know!! :teeth:
I have never noticed them at my Hallmarks but I didn't really pay any attention......but the nearest Hallmark is about 15 miles away....so I will just wait until Friday and go to the "real" mall and see what I can find.

sorry....60 seconds was just referring to not being able to post fast enough ;)
