The last week of October 2011 Poly Party starts here!!

Five weeks to go!!!!! :cool1:

Seeing the MNSSHP reports has us even more excited! :thumbsup2 And I love the countdowns you guys have made, I'm thinking ours needs revamping.

Under 35 days! :thumbsup2 but still no Mickey Mail!!! I'm hoping it shows up in today's mail!

I'm with Maiapapaya on the excitement thing...when I get excited, I start feeling down because of DBIL's vacation not being approved :headache:

I'm trying to stay positive :goodvibes and spent most of yesterday afternoon packing! I'm 90% done! :yay:

Let's not forget your DH isn't out of the woods yet either on the vacation front! Hopefully this isn't turning into a girls trip! :headache: (not that that would be terrible, just not at all what we had planned!!)

When DBIL started his current job he had to fill out paperwork indicating when he's not available to work. He did this for our trip. Now it would seem they have "lost" the paperwork and have no record of him wanting the time off. I think his supervisor is on it, but nothing confirmed yet.

I was thinking about it until I remembered I have to take my footwear off for airport security! :rotfl2: I much prepare flip-flops to flying...I'm lazy! :rotfl:

He called his supervisor and left her a message...but of course (a la Pierre :lmao:) no response! He received the forms to fill out for 2012 but they say for Jan - Mar (I'm thinking ahead to 2013) they need to be filled out by the middle of September, so I'm making a bunch of photocopies ready so we can fill them out and get them sent in EARLY for the next trip! :thumbsup2

and after the day I've had, and in honour of Talk Like A Pirate Day...I just may pour myself a tall glass of Kraken Black Rum and Coke! ARRR RUM! pirate:

Me too! Just got a call from my supervisor and she is all flustered now because of my vacation :headache: I put in my request in January and have it documented and signed! Not my problem that we are so short staffed and have been all year.

The sad thing is that you HAVE to take your Paid Time Off hours by the end of October so I would have to take time off anyways because you can only carry a certain number of hours over to the next year and you are not allowed to take vacation from Thanksgiving to New Years at our institution!!

What is wrong with these people. :furious:

Hand over some of that Rum please :drinking1

So she's flustered about you taking vacation during the last week of October that you have to use up by the end of October anyways?! Um, ok.

Here ya go Teri! :drinking1 What is it with this Disney trip and peoples' vacation? :confused3

Got our ME tags!!! :cool1:

5 weeks from today we will be on the plane!!

This is the point where I start second guessing all our plans, wondering if I made the right choices for ADRs, etc. I feel confident the kids will enjoy SOA dinner, they've never done it before, also I know Narcoosee's will be a hit. Teppen Edo I'm sure will be good, now I'm thinking about Chefs de France. Has anyone eaten there lately? Maybe I'll go over to the restaurant board and see.

Holding off another 5 days before I print out our countdown pages. I'm so excited for this trip these next few weeks are going to crawwwwwwwlllllll

Have a great day everyone! :goodvibes

Please add me to the list. We'll be staying 11/24-11/29.

I'm Tim (48) and I'll be traveling with my DW Tracey (45). We don't have kids, but we're raising eight cats.

We live in the Washington, DC area (Odenton, MD) and are originally from Connecticut.

I work for the Federal Government as a Patent Examiner and Tracey is a Sales Assistant with a large promotions company and runs a custom beaded jewelry business.

I'm not sure how many trips we've done to WDW - Tracey's first was in late October '71 - but this will be our first at the Polynesian. We'll be celebrating Tracey's 45th birthday, which was in February, and our 25th wedding anniversary, which was in July.

The highlights of our stay (besides the Polynesian itself) are dinner at Victoria & Albert on Wednesday 10/26, the MNSSHP on Friday 10/28 and a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise on the Magic starting on Saturday 10/29.

We'll be taking Amtrak's AutoTrain down from VA, which will be a first for us, arriving the morning of Monday 10/24.

33 days until we board the train!

Awesome! It looks like Disney is on the ball with documents :thumbsup2

I am no help with food at Disney. We are not huge eaters and we like to graze which is one of the reasons we are staying CL so we are not tied down to ADRs but I will say I loved the SOA dinner and show and DD who was 8 at the time enjoyed it as well. It helped that we we had dead center seats right in front :thumbsup2

Hi Tim and Tracey. I added you to our list. Closer to departure time we are going to post pics of ourselves (if you want) and I am going to start a Face book page for us so our Poly friends on the Poly thread can live vicariously through us :wizard: It is proving hard to put together a "meet and greet" because everyone has their plans set but I bet we can try a Tambu lounge meeting some night! :goodvibes

Sounds like an amazing trip, trains, buses, monorails and boats or should I say Ships!!

My Grandfather worked for the Federal Government a million years ago and my Mom was born in Silver Springs, MD. Is that near you? He worked in Health and Education but then was transferred to Chicago when my Mom was about 5 (early 1950s).

My DH John travels to DC every year for a work meeting but this year it happens to be the week we are in Disney which was sort of a bummer because DD and I were going to go and take in the sights while he was working. There is always next year :thumbsup2

Welcome to our party :dance3:
