The last week of October 2011 Poly Party starts here!!

Hello All!

My family will be joining you the last week of October...so you can add us in!

Traveling will be: myself(40), DW(34), DD(9), and DS(7).

We're celebrating our survival of yet another busy year. Actually we are surprising our kids, who believe we are going on a very boring and torturous vacation. We will be in South Carolina when we spring the news and share the joy, just trying to make it the next few weeks without saying anything. Ahhhhhhhhhhh the torture, but the look on their faces will be priceless, I suspect they won't believe us until we actually arrive.

We are arriving October 23th and staying until Nov. 2 staying GV. We will be driving down from Northern Virginia. So please stay off I95 on Saturday October 22,

We have tickets for MNSSHP on Oct. 30th.

We have ADR's nearly everyday............

Soooooooooooo need a vacation. Last year we stayed at WL and truly loved it, this year we decided to try Poly ! Please tell me we will love it !!!

Only question I have what should we request for building ???????????

Welcome!!! We're staying GV too and it'll be our first time as well, so I can't help with building request. I hear Tokelau is a good one and can get you some castle views if you're lucky. We just requested 3rd or 1st floor since we want a place to sit while DD naps and kept it that simple. Hopefully we'll get what we want with a simple request. I'll be flying down on the 23rd, so no traffic from me, but we'll be there the same week. Although we'll be leaving the 29th, so enjoy the extra stay!! And I promise I'll be quiet.

Sounds great! We're coming from Maryland arriving on the 24th and checking out on the 29th.

We're using Amtrak's AutoTrain and taking a cruise on the Magic departing on the 29th.

Maybe we'll see you there.

NEWS UPDATE!!!! The 40th celebration was changed from being on the 1st to being on the 24th (The Polynesian's official birthday) There will be no show at the resort on the 1st to celebrate the 40th. The MK will be having things going on for the 40th so make sure you get over to the park.

Received our yellow ME tags over the weekend, along with the booklet and bus passes. We didn't get any of the holographic tags though, oh well. At least they showed up!

They didn't come with our ME stuff they came with our free dining package.

We're still impatiently waiting for DH's vacation approval. It's getting a little close for comfort. Can't get excited until we have an answer.

DH is at the point were he is furious. It isn't just him, but a couple of his operators on his crew and several guys on other crews. Management is already in violation of the contract (they are supposed to reply to vacation requests within 2 weeks) but they are in the lead up to a planned outage and I guess they figure that entitles them to get away with it. The latest word is they will have an answer Monday. I'm afraid DH will blow if it isn't resolved by then.

Actually they don't have to take their vacation by the end of October, but December.

3 MORE WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids' countdown is up today! Finally got it printed out for them. I can't believe we only have THREE WEEKS left!!!!!! Is everyone getting excited??? Who will be at the Poly on Monday 10/24 for the big celebration?? We don't arrive until 10/25 so we will miss it. But I'm sure it will be awesome!!!!

And just so everyone remembers, we're going to be there during the FL democratic convention. Those that are there on the 28th will be dealing with Joe Biden speaking at the CR, so there might be security delays. We'll be missing him by just a day, but I'm wondering if there might be more security or crowds over the Halloween weekend because of it Hopefully it won't be too bad.

The 28th I have Studios planned for the morning, bus back to the resort, then to Epcot for the evening. Dinner at Teppen Edo, park closes at 10:00. Hopefully we won't have any issues with Biden. I had no idea that was going on!
