The horse girl, her big guy and WDW..a trip report! Update 8/4-Day 10, pg 26!

So only 6 days left to go! I am still trying to get our spare bedroom finished..we started painting it "Main St. USA" yellow 2 weeks ago!! I primed the trim last weeked (someone had painted the baseboards RED two coats of paint ago!! :scared1: ) and am just trying to get my butt off the couch to finish!

I have all the dog stuff practically ready to go to the in-laws. I wrote out how much food they get but I have a feeling they will screw it up. :headache: Last year they came back with extra food and the dogs only get 2 cups a day!! :confused3 I'm not sure why it's so hard?? We'll see what happens this year. I wrote "An Idiot's Guide to Feeding My Dogs" incase the easy-to-understand, "feed each dog 1 cup in the AM and 1 cup in the PM" is just too much for them!!

I have set aside most of our clothes and have our carry on ready to go. When it's just two, the packing seems like a breeze! I also want to call and confirm our ADRs. I know they will all be A-OK but you just never know...worth the phone call.

Bought these for the plane...how could I resist??

And this for DH. He got a nasty food stain on his fav. shirt last year...I think it took 5 washings to get it out. Hope this thing works..never tried it!

I had the garbage, mail and newspaper held. DH scheduled the mortgage payment. The only things left are to weedwhack, mow the lawn, and do a real good cleaning Friday night. There is nothing worse them coming home to a dirty house. Oh, and I want to give the dogs a bath. Maybe there is something worse then a dirty house.....a smelly dog!! :rotfl:

I have two people watching my cats since they have to come everyday...my one friend already got the tour of her "duties" last weekend...my friend Dave is coming Wed. night for his. He did it last year, and pretty much knows the drill, but one cat gets a pill now. I bought a gift card for Dave since he is turning his basement into a movie room this summer. Not sure what to get the other friend yet.

Seems pretty boring over here huh? I guess it is. I don't think it's sunk in yet how close we are to leaving. 1 week from now we will be at Ohanas!!! Thanks for reading!! :wizard:

Tara..... in 48 hours I will be at Ohanas!!!! :cool1: Sounds like you are almost all set! There's a lot of little things to do before vacation. And with pets, its even harder!! My DH is dealing with the outside stuff (lawn, car), money (bills and bringing enough) and I do the packing, planning and cleaning. I think thats split up ok ??:confused3 In any case everything eventually gets done!
 So you only have one more week!!! :dance3: :cheer2: Can you believe it??? Happy Honeymoon if I dont run into you here tomorrow!!!And have a wonderful and exciting trip!!! Can't wait to hear all about it!

I went to State University of NY at Buffalo....but has changed since I graduated in 1990. I loved my time there.
Is that UB now?? :confused3 BIL graduated from there last summer!!

Sounds like you split it up pretty darn evenly!! I am tackling almost everything this year only b/c DH is in training for his new job and has been working 10 hour days. I get home by 4:30 so I don't mind. Although, T/R are my riding nights so he will have to pick up the slack somewhere this week! ;)

Have a great trip as well if we don't talk!! Be safe and takes lots of pics of those girls!!! :cloud9:

There is nothing worse them coming home to a dirty house.

here, here! i always clean like a madwoman before we go out of town anywhere and DH always looks at me like i'm crazy. but i can't stand coming home to a dirty house. i think coming home to a clean house makes the realization that our vacation is over a bit easier! plus i can actually rest when i get home instead of cleaning. our OCD is definitely one thing we DO have in common! ;)

Definitely b/c if I came home to a dirty house I would immediately put my bags down and start cleaning. It is hard for me to relax when I see dog hair floating in the corners of our hardwoods! I can't be as OCD as I would like with all our pets but once I start cleaning it has to all get done right then.. I hate breaking it up. In fact, this weekend DH had to clean since I was with my sick pony. He ended up getting a stomach bug and had to stop. So I came home tonight and took over. Ugh.

YUP it is UB.....it was a very good school went I went with an excellent engineering dept. I studied speech and hearing sciences!

Only 6 days to go. It sounds like everything is coming together. The tide stick is absolutely wonderful. I had this one shirt, my favorite shirt, i was working late one night and got something on it. Well of course it sat a little while before I could get it in the wash. So i sprayed it w/ some stain stuff and let it sit and washed it and it didn't come out. Then I got a tide stick and used it and let it sit and it was amazing.:wizard: :thumbsup2 The only thing I've noticed is it seems to get better the more it's used. If that makes since. I can't wait for y'all to get down there. I hope y'all have a great trip and look forward to reading your TR.:surfweb:

Glad to hear it works..it said on the package that it was not a stain pre-treater..it's a stain removal stick. :confused3

Glad to see you again! :cutie:

:goodvibes I clean like mad before going on a trip too. I have even been known to wake up uber early while on vacay to do laundry because I hate to come to dirty clothes and a messy house. :upsidedow

Type A's- unite! :rotfl2:

I think is stinks so much b/c you are already sad about having to leave WDW and to top it off you have to clean when you get home. Not so much fun! Plus, I'll be so excited to be leaving for WDW the next day that I doubt I will mind all the cleaning on Friday night. I think it will make the time fly by too!! :thumbsup2

So two days away...most everything is done! I am up to date on packing..just have to add stuff I will wash Friday night. I mowed the lawn tonight, weed whacked and DH packed up his golf clubs. I had to borrow a golf club travel bag so he could take them on the plane.

Tomorrow night the dogs are all getting their baths and Friday is cleaning day. I might be out of work early so that will help!

It still doesn't feel like we will be in Disney in 55 hours or so!!! :cloud9:

I have been checking the weather reports and it looks like typical FL weather...30-40% chance of storms each day. Not a big deal to us!! :wizard:

Thanks for sticking around through this pre-TR....I can't wait to start the actual TR. I am taking my laptop to WDW with me but only so I can type up the days report in the room at night. Even with notes I don't think I will remember many details by the time I get home. Plus, I can then upload my pics each night and empty my photo card. Although I just bought a 2GB card so I doubt it will fill up!!! No internet access though...I'm not paying $10 for that!!

 It will be great to read because you will be able to type the highlights right after they happen! Great idea to write as you go even without internet access! :thumbsup2

2 days?! :faint:

Those darn pens should be on everyones packing list. I love them! Having two princess: princess: I am constantly using one. I actually have one in each bag I use: diaper bags, purses, and school bag. I actually pulled two out during a meeting with my assistant principal when she got something on her linen pants. Out right away! She was impressed. I honestly think it does a fabulous job on all the junk that my girls get into- chocolate ice cream, pasta you name it!

On to the more important thing--- have a magical trip! Looking forward to your report and how it is to be a DVC owner!

Enjoy!

wow......2 more days!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

if you think about it, post your final itinerary at the end before you leave so we can live vicariously through you while you're gone! have a BLAST!!!!!!! i'm super jealous. ;)
