Thanks for all the suggestions with the room choice.
How far in advance should I call? or Fax?

Any where being at WDW will be wonderful!!!

We like having a car to go hopping around and visiting all the other resorts when we are there.

Do people really use the buses to the parks from POP when they have their car, even with the parking being free?

Just thought I'd share a little info...I called last week to book the POP for next March. It is NOT a preferred building. The CM was very helpful and listed all of my requests...50's building, facing Epcot/fireworks/lake, top floor (quietest), and we need a block of 3! I asked and she said it was kind of early to be booking for next March, but no problem and my requests SHOULD be honored. I'd call now if you can and ask for the 50's building. Good luck and have a great trip! :sunny:

Oops! Forgot to say...I'd definately use the buses when you can. We did from ASMu last year and they were great and saved lots of hassle and worries!

We rented a car and took it the parks ONCE (Epcot). We found it was much less hassle to take the bus and took it every day thereafter.

Personally, I love taking Disney transportation. It is part of the whole experience for us, and it makes it a totally emersive experience. Yes, sometimes it would be quicker to drive, but we prefer to leave the driving to Disney and enjoy striking up conversations with other guests from all over and making that part of the trip. I wouldn't drive unless it was absolutely necessary.

Last November we drove down :earseek: we parked the car at the resort and it didn't move until we started the trek home. The busses went everywhere we needed to go.

Do all the building's circle the Lake? We would like to get a room near the lake.

Take a look at Pop's Resort Map. Some rooms in 50's Jukebox and Tramp, 60's Play-Doh and Mowgli/Baloo, and 70's Mickey Phone buildings have a lake view.

I remember seeing a layout of the actual rooms at POP. I am probably going to have to get adjoining rooms for our Summer 06 trip. Can anybody refresh my memory on where I saw that!

You guys are great

What about disability parking is it up close or a separate parking lot by itself.
and if we drive to the different parks how hard will it be to get a disabled spot again.

Just want to be prepared...........

:hourglass time is almost here for our WDW Trip YEAH !!!!

There's disability parking in every decade's lot, but I don't think there are very many spaces and they're not that close to the buildings. If you can find a good Pop Resort Map you'll be able to see where the disabilty parking spaces are.

Not sure about the parks.

I knew my friends at the DIS could help me! Thanks Sandy!

Some of the 80's rooms have a view of the lake, as well. My friend and I were placed in the 80's with a partial view of the lake and parking lot. We didn't care! We were in Florida at Disney! :)

I love this thread. I have a question for everyone...which is better,

Going to Disney for Christmas week or going longer and going like Dec 15th or so. Thanks!!!

**DEFINETLY** going on the 15th will be better. Christmas week will be *JAM PACKED* beyond belief.

I agree with Tyler! Go longer @ the 15th. The Holiday decorations are already up and you won't have to mess with the crowds!

We have been staying at deluxe hotels on our last few visits, but to be able to go next May, we will need to stay in a value resort again. I am thinking of trying POP since it is the newest. Can someone tell me where the bus pick-up places are for POP at the 4 theme parks. I remember when we stayed at the All-Stars, the pick-up points were at the end of the line past all the deluxes and moderates. Since POP is the newest, is it the farthest from the park exits?

Thanks
Kristi

Hi KristiT :wave2: We were there in September and if I can remember correctly, this is where they were then. Anyone know if they have changed since then?

Magic Kingdom- Last one on the far end
Epcot- I know it was also near the end, but can't remember exactly which one
MGM- Last one on the far platform
Animal Kingdom- I think about half way down
DTD- closest stop to the DTD area on the DTD side of the platform, 2nd section

PS- I see you're from SC. We're moving there this summer! :)

MK is #18 (furthest one down on B side)
Epcot is #12
Studios used to be #6 (first one) but is currently #10 (midway)
Animal Kingdom is #12 (2nd one in on B side)
DTD is #8 (closest at Marketplace, furthest at PI)

REMEMBER: Buses can drop you off at ANY stop, depending on thier next dispatch.

We just returned from a great week at the Pop century. We stayed in the 70s building 6 third floor. We faced the lake and it was the quietest room I have ever stayed in. If there were people on either side of us, we never heard them. This area had no pool or playground, so that must be why it was so quiet. We had driven 18 hours to get there and when I saw the long line at check-in I groaned, but we were checked in within 15 minutes. This building was a long hike from the parking lot, but was close to everything else (Classic Hall, Buses). When we return I will ask for this buiilding again.
