I was told all preferred rooms are non-smoking

Thats not true! There are many 'non-smoking' rooms in NON perferred rooms.
I had one last July (after the switchover of preferred rooms)

We have me, my husband, our 4 year old son, & my mom. I was thinking about upgrading if I can get free dining.

The rooms are small. I go with myself & my nephew...and that is fine!!!! But for 3 adults...and a kid....You will ALL have to GET ALONG GREAT!

Also note, (dont know how old your Mom is) but for elderly people there is no real comfy seat to sit in the POP rooms. They have 2 Kitchen type chairs, and the beds.

Has anyone hang a curtain or shower curtain between the bedroom and sink area? I read somewhere people do this. I was wondering how people do this..what did they use to hang the shower curtain?

I have not done it but you can buy shower curtain rods that just open out and the force presses on the wall and keeps it up. They are pretty cheap, and so are the plain vinal shower curtains.

I guess it depends on when you go back to the hotel. If you are going back when park closes buses will be packed but there are no others stops.

That is right. The only time I encountered a packed bus was when I left the park at closing. To avoid that, leave maybe 30 min prior to closing.

We LOVE PoP! we went March 2006 and are going back Aug26-Sept1st!!!
It works well with little kids and we loved staying in the 50's. We were on the ground floor and just outside our room in the mornings were rabbits in the morningh and the kids feed the ducks, one waddled in our room! They loved this start to our day every morning!

Good thought, but Mom's in her 50's. She'll be fine. We're going from 9/8 - 9/16. I figure we probably won't be in the room too much, and DH had surgery so he doesn't snore anymore, so...

I just booked POP, and unlike those who find the fridge swap reminders on this board annoying, I found them informative! I hope I can get in on one! I have checked the budget board (because someone on this board said to) but my dates are not open on any of them. Anyone want to start another??? I am going in August.

I beleive around 7am. I could be wrong. I think they run an hour before the park opens.

I 'believe' that if you have ADRs that are before the busses start running they run busses labeled 'SPECIAL' to get people to their dining locations. I would ask at the front desk when you check in.

We had ADR set for before the park opened and didn't need to take any special bus. We just made sure we knew what the earlist bus was and made sure we were on it. I haven't heard of any "special" busses...but that would be some good info to learn

I apologize! I went back in my trip report where Tyler answered this question that I asked (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=653217&page=2 post #28) and he said the 'special' busses are drop off only. I'm so sorry, I mixed up my information

I'm not sure. So far the answer here has pretty much been no, but I have seen pictures of surrey's on the Pop gorunds. You could call and ask though

The reason why I asked is I because I also have seen pictures of the surrey bike at resort

I've seen the surrey pitures, too. But didn't see any bikes anywhere last June.

I believe the plan is that once the other side of POP is finished, Legendary Years, they will rent surrey bikes and let you ride around the lake.
