I can't remember if I told them a non smoking room (DD has severe asthma) should I wait and see when we get there? I don't want to be a bother but her health comes first.

We have the same issue. I'd go ahead and have it noted on your reservation. And make sure they note it is "for medical reasons". It would be easier to have them give you a non-smoking room when assigning them before you get there than having to change it once you are checking in......for you and for them. :)

I agree with the last poster....DON't WAIT until you get there! Disney generally does not guarantee requests for non-smoking rooms, but they will make every effort to make sure you have one if if it for medical reasons (we have the same problem too) and it is much easier for them to do when assigning rooms instead of at check-in. If you wait, it will be hit or miss!

Anyone know if the rooms have cups or glasses? You know like most hotels have a couple of glasses in the bathroom and a few plastic cups somewhere. Please advise.
I can't believe how close this is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!

Hi,

We stayed at Pop last June and loved it. We got our room requests/ressies in before they expanded the preferred section of rooms so I don't know what rooms are included in the "new" preferred list. is there a post/link/page somewhere that has that info? I don't want to pay for preferred but do want to request a bldg/area.

TIA,

:)

Hello,

I remember checking "preferred room" when I made the reservations (it was like $10/night if I remember correctly)... is there anything else I need to do to get a preferred location? Thanks!

You may want to request a section.
Part of the 70, 60, 50 all have some preferred rooms.

Remember a request may not be honored but they will make note of it on your reservation

I'm putting a lot of faith into all of you, I wasn't originally going to stay at Pop because it seems very small & I haven't really heard good things about the All Stars. After finding this thread, I decided to chance Pop. :scared: But it's Disney, so how bad can it be?

How do you get from Pop to other hotels? (not renting a car) We're doing a character breakfast at the Polynesian and maybe dinner at Wilderness Lodge. For the breakfast, we'll probably just hop on the monorail from MK.

Just FYI...POP rooms *are* very small. For my girls and I, it's perfect. If my husband was with us, he'd hate it.

I'd upgrade if I were you. 3 adults in a POP room will be tight.....very tight......unless you all get along *very* well.

To get to any other hotel from any other hotel I suggest going to one of the parks, and switching buses or go from bus to monorail/boat what ever. That is as easy as I think it can be done!

We have me, my husband, our 4 year old son, & my mom. I was thinking about upgrading if I can get free dining.

The rooms are about the size of a standard budget hotel such as a Super 8. If you are not spending much time in the room it may be big enough for you.

As for getting to the Polynesian or other resorts, you will need to take a bus to a park and then go from there. When we to O'Hanas, we took a bus to MK and then jumped on the monorail.

themudd4 is correct. You can take the bus to MK and use the monorail to get to the Poly and the boat to get to WL. If you are already in a park, go directly to WL for dinner. They will give you a transportation booklet at checkin - just make sure you leave plenty of time to get to your ADR. Of course another option is to simply take a cab. :)

If you are going to upgrade your room, I don't feel there is a notable size difference between a value and a moderate, so you would want to go to a deluxe for a bigger room (bigger beds too).

We love POP. We love the deluxes as well. Check the pricing because it can be cheaper to get 2 rooms at POP versus 1 room at a deluxe. It really depends on how much you are going to be in your room and how much 'closeness' you can tolerate. My family (dh, myself, dd12, ds10) had no problem being in 1 room at POP.
