No it's not. I've heard Disney and the builder are in court. To the best of my knowledge there is no date set for opening.

Does any one know if the legendary years building is open? I was looking at the pics of the resort on allears and was just wondering about the 1900s-40s.

thanks

How does it work with all the stations for food at Pop ? What about Icecream I heard it was outside? Can you get a sundae as your cs dessert and do kids get any dessert at Pop or is it s/f jello??

If I bring my laptop, does the POP have a printer on a server I can use? I am going to be using Ridemax while there and will need to print out daily itineraries.
I've used Ridmax at Disneyland and it is awesome. This is coming from someone who grew up in SoCal going to DL 3 times a year. So being able to use Ridemax at WDW and make my own printouts at the POP would be very useful.

Also, on my docs....it stated connecting rooms....guaranteed for families!!!
I always thought connecting was not a guarantee, just a request.

Yes and no. It does say it is guarenteed for families, BUT it is only a request, no matter what your docs say, and they will try to accomodate you. I don't get it either. :confused3

For what it is worth, we didn't check in until after 5 pm, and we had absolutely no problem getting our "guarenteed" connecting rooms. And I was a little paranoid about it, since we had gotten burned on connecting rooms at a non-Disney hotel. So it worked out fine! :thumbsup2

Have a great time at POP!! I loved it!
I think the 60's was very nice, our room was lakeside behind the Play Doh icon...close to everything. The landscaping by the main and kiddie pool added to the resort atmosphere.
Have a great time!!!
Do you do 1 or 2 rooms? Not being nosy, jsut wondering how you work it out...next year it will be me, Dh DS14, DD11 and DD2...we will do 2.

We do 2 rooms, we loved the Pop in Oct., I'm sure our trip will be great!
Oh and FYI, the extra bathroom with 2 rooms sure does come in handy!;)

I am taking my cousins to pop century from July 13 -16th... i cannot possibly read the whole thread -- can someone tell me where the quietest area of the hotel is. i know my cousin has a hard time sleeping with noise. i know... i picked the wrong hotel... but i had to save my money to stay at the bw in november

They have a really good sundae station inside the food court. They have a bunch of different Edy's flavors and you can choose 2 ice cream flavors and any toppings you'd like. My fiance and I had fun making different concoctions- it's SO GOOD!

Sorry I can't answer your DDP question. Maybe someone else can :)

I would just request a quiet area. We were towards the back by the lake in the 70's building 6 and we were pretty wuiet. The first morning I heard some kids, and some really annoying birds. But every other day it was quiet. Some days we slept in and some we didn't. But that first morning it was like around 6AM when the people were making noise, which I assume maybe they were checking out?
I rarely heard much from other rooms, but the outside wall was the thinnest in my opinion. But we weren't at the room much either.

Now we have scheduled the breakfast with Bear and the Einsteins on June 2 at 8:05am. The park does not open till 9am. will we be able to get transportation that early to the park?

Tonya:wizard:

We were told by the bus driver that the buses started an hour before the park opens. Then we asked at the desk too, and they said the same. We had 8AM reservation at Chef Mickeys (Mk opened at 9AM) and was going to take the bus to the Mk and walk or monorail it over. The front desk said we wouldn't make it in time so we should rent a cab. We llwe had a rental vehicale so we drove. But when we were leaving at 7:30 to go to the Contemporary, we saw the buses running already for MK. :confused3

I checked Deb's site and she showed the accessible room as being a king. Does anyone know if they have accessible rooms that are the 2 DBL or are they all King?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

Due to the size of the roll-in shower bathroom, all wheelchair accessible rooms feature king beds. There are a limited amount of rooms with double beds, that feature a standard tub, along with handrails.

Buses start running 45 minutes prior to any character breakfast on property.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I've had a relapse in a chronic health condition and just reserved an accessible room rather than regular. Originally booked with two doubles for a family of three. What will they do with my son, hang him from a hook? :confused3 We're always threatening to do that if he doesn't calm down so maybe that isn't such a bad idea!:lmao:

I wonder why no one said that to us. Even the desk said he could see our problem and we would need to find other transportion like a cab. It was no big deal since we had a van. And actually worked well for us, because DD fell alseep on the way back to POP and she needed more sleep so DH stayed with her a few hours and they both took a morning nap while I went to MK and shopped! LOL  :cloud9:

if anyone's interested, we need some help to save our pop coffee maker swap. the second person in our swap cancelled their trip and didn't bother telling anyone, so now we're in danger of losing our coffee maker and the ability to swap it! we need someone to pick up the coffee maker from guest services sometime between now and monday!!!! i'm still hopeful it can happen....with someone's help. go here for more info:

I noticed on the front page that some of the dialup numbers are no longer local. Does anybody have a list of numbers considered local for AOL? Thanks!

Also, it says that local calls are free, however I have read in other threads that local calls have a 75 cents flat charge per call. Anyone have a definite answer on that?

I saw this question asked way back in a previous page, but didn't see any answer...I have a laptop that I would like to bring along, but I access the internet on a cable modem with wireless on my laptop. Is there anyway that I will be able to get on line while staying at pop? I'm going to be at POP 4/22/07-4/27/07! :cool1: Can't wait!

When we were there in June 2006 and they had wireless internet access, so if your laptop is equipped for it you will be able to get online. They do charge $10.00 per 24 hour period. In other words if you sign on for the first time at 3:00 pm Monday you'll have access until 3:00 pm Tuesday. After 3:00 pm would start a new 24 hour period.

Thanks SPJammer! This is good to know:thumbsup2 While I wouldn't pay that for the entire 5 days I will be there, I might spring for $10 to check in on work and family for one day. I wanted to bring my lap top to use for other things anyway, so this will kind of justify the purpose.

Although, does anyone know if POP has a business center with internet access? Or any place else in the WDW that I could get access for a quick check on things? Maybe it's not worth lugging the laptop afterall:surfweb:
