I have a few questions. This is my first visit since 1979. My DH,DS(7), and DD have never been. I am sooooo excited. We are staying at POP. Any suggestions about strollers, rent or bring our own? We will be going 4/15-4/24. Anyone familiar with the crowd size this time of year? Anyone have room number from 50's building they would suggest. I know I would like 4th floor with fireworks view. Thanks for all your help.:yay:

How old is your DD?

I think your request for top floor, 50's, fireworks view is enough. I wouldn't request a specific room #.

I would be prepared for large crowds. The best way to handle that would be to be at the park at opening.

Have a great trip!

My DD is 3.

Do you think she'll nap in her stroller during the day or a night? The park strollers are very easy to push and you don't have to deal with a stroller on the bus but they are $10/day for single $18 for double and wouldn't be comfortable for a nap. You can get a multi-day rental that saves about 10% and then you only have to wait in the cashier line one time.

I still haven't decided if I will bring a stroller for my DD(4) on our next trip or rent. I'm not sure if the airport would be easier with or without a stroller.

I am having the same proble re: stroller. Dgs is 5 but a tall boy who weighs 90 #. I have concerns about a stoller being sturdy enough and the thought of carrying a jogging stroller on the bus gives me nightmares. On the other hand if the park ones aren't comfy for a nap??? Would a small towel or blanket make it better ? Help!!!

Towels are helpful for warm heads. I can always sprinkle some water on it to help cool DS off while he is in the stroller. BTW, he will be 6 this trip, is also tall for his age, and weighs 55 pounds. We are without a doubt getting a stroller.

I think I would opt for the park rentals as they are so easy to push. My kids together are close to 90 lbs and it was still very easy to push. I wouldn't want to try bringing a jogging stroller on the bus. I think a towel would help.

Thank you I think we'll go with the rental. Has anyone rented lately? I saw pix of different rentals at one park they looked like joggers or were these old pix??

The last I saw were jogger style for MGM, hard plastic for the other parks-purple at Epcot, blue at MK and tan at AK. I didn't rent in Dec but I think I would have noticed if the strollers were any different.

Pushed around my brother who is large for his age (10) this Friday night at EPCOT. He was way tired and it was easier than him trying to keep up. He fit fine in a double with room to spare for the bags, etc.

I have a larger style unbrella that I think I will bring for DD(3). I have a jogger but think it will be too cumbersome to cart around. We plan on resting at the hotel in the afternoon, but want to do parks in the evening also. I think she'll be able to fall asleep in the one we have. If not I guess we can rent one.

Next question how do you rent for multiple days. We will need one for5 days in the parks. Am still undecided about double or single . Single cheaper double room for backpacks etc Hmmm!!

When you rent for the first time, tell them you want a multi-day rental and they will hook you up.

Could someone explain why they might like Pop Century over, say, ASMo? I am trying to decide between them and some people really seem to gravitate to one or the other. What was it for you?

The reason that I persoanlly like POP is that the bus service at POP is their own. They don't stop at any other resorts to do pick ups like the AS's do. Their busing system picks up at all the All Stars.... Where POP only has to do one pick up. It's too early in the morning to get the right words out. Overall POP is better.

Here's my lame reason, and it's not the bus thing, because we rent a car, but I think that's a great advantage. Anyway, I like Pop for the blue slushies. There, that's how I make my adult desicion, drinks.:upsidedow
