How many tvs did your childhood home have?

My dad too repaired tv’s had us kids sort tubes . Then he opened his own shop doing house calls to fix them or bring them in. After that sold Panasonic tv, stereos and appliances .

Sold so many TV’s he won trips to Mexico and London in the 70’s.

We have some big TVs in our house.

But we never had a TV in our living room until a while back when we decided to put a 19 inch one in our armoire, which DH built and we had to remove some shelves, etc., so that’s all that would fit. It works for us.

There’s a young lady about 7 yrs old that often came to the house and every time she’d walk by it, she’d stop in her tracks, look at it, then turn and say, “Why is your TV so small?” 🤣 Always cracked me up. They have no idea.

Growing up we had 2 TVs. One in the den/family room. And one in my parents' room. I never had a TV in my room while living at my parents' house. Flash forward to now. DH and I have been together for 13+ years and moved several times and always had 2. One in the living room and one in the bedroom.

Actually now that i think about it, we do have one other tv in the "office" where DH has his xbox, but no channels/tv watching on that and he really just plays Madden on it.

One television which my father made a hole in the wall so when the parents went to bed they turned the TV from the den to face their bedroom. When we moved in 1975 (kids were 16/15/14 and 8) there were 3 televisions, one in the playroom, one in the living room, and one in my parents' room.

Two of us now, and we have three TVs. All hooked up to Dish Network. Family room is a new 50 inch flat screen. Living room is a 20 inch 15+ year old flat screen we inherited from my mom. Master bedroom has a 12 inch, HD TUBE TV with DVD player built into it. Bought it in 2006 as tube tvs were being phased out. Bought it because I was concerned that flat screens would not last, which has turned out to be true in my experience. The flat screen we HAD in the family room started having the backlight elements come unglued after 7 years.

One black and white Zenith.

Yes we watched Wonderful World of Color in black and white. Anybody remember the horizontal control?

I do! I also remember test patterns and when stations went off the air at night and played the national anthem.

We had commercials? Or was it the news people here say It’s 11 o’clock do you know where your children are.

Up until I was about 10 we had 1, in the living room. Then I got my own TV (as a gift) for my bedroom, so it was 2 almost half my life at home. Now we have 6 for 2 of us.

Mayfield Heights: one.

Maumee: two. One was in the living room, and the second one was in my parent's bedroom.
