When I was there in May they had a hot chocolate machine.

Excellent! It's probably better than those packets. We never hit the food court in the morning, never look for hot chocolate at dinner time, so when we are at the food beverage station, they are typically down to only 1 or 2 stations open because they are cleaning. A bummer when the frozen coke machine has already been wrapped up.

I am one of those fanny pack ladies. I just slip the handle thru the belt part, and away I go. Usually what I do, is I hold on to it till I get to a park, then hit the restroom or water fountain and clean and dry it out, then hang it on the fanny pack. That way when I return to the hotel, I can make a quick stop and refill with what ever.

Thank you for the replies RE: what do do with the refillable mugs. We won't have a rental car, so can't keep them in there. I was hoping not to have to run back to the room, isn't the bus stop just outside of where Everything Pop is? Sounds like we can stick them in a backpack or hang them on a fannypack, so we'll probably try something like that. Thanks again! ;)

Mrs Mud - yep the bus stops are just outside the doors of Classic Hall, which contains Everything Pop. Since we eat breakfast in the room, we don't use our mugs in the morning, but there are PLENTY of times I have wished we had 1 or 2 with us when we return to the resort after a busy park day!

If you carry them to the park, they would make a great container for some water and Crystal Light On the Go at lunch time. :) Just a thought!

There have been plenty of times I wished I had my mug with me when I stepped off the bus before I headed to my room. After I get to my room I am usually so exhausted I don't want to trek back to the Food Court! Is it me, or does every step seem to matter at WDW?!?

Haven't had time to read all 157 pages of this Pop Thread so forgive me if it's been asked/answered many times but what's happened to the 2nd part of Pop Century Hotel - the first half of the 20th century? We stayed in the '50's section in October of '04 & I saw they were partially completed but I never saw them working on it for the 2 weeks we were there. Did they have to scrap the plans for some reason?

I read somewhere that they are now going to be value suites like the ones they have at the All Stars :) . If you haven't seen them before here is a link Family Suites

I believe although I am not certain but after 9/11 there was a drop in attendance at WDW and so the building for the second phase of the Pop was put on hold. Not sure when building will begin or if all of the rooms will be suites however. Can't wait to visit when that are done! We just love love love the Pop :thumbsup2 !

For anyone heading to the Pop soon or anyone who's been, may I make a request? You see I ache to go back and just arriving at the Pop is something I dream about :goodvibes . What I'm wondering is if anyone has photos of the inside of the Everything Pop gift shop they could post? What I am really curious about is what is for sale now :earboy2: because after arriving the next bit that really makes me happy is going to buy our mug, filling it up and then having a long look around in the shop!

Thanks a bunch!!!!

About Everything Pop......Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a Pop Century magnet? We collect magnets from the places we visit. Thanks!

The laughingplace store has a picture of the ones available at POP.

At the end of the day??? YES! I have a lot of problems with my leg from a car accident I was in and by the end of the day all I want to do is take some meds and go to sleep. This trip we're going to attempt a slower pace and actually take breaks in the afternoons and stuff so with any luck we will be more rested and not come back feeling like we need a vacation to recuperate from our vacation :rotfl:

I read this tip somewhere here on the Dis recently: Apparently there are disposable dish detergent cloths you can buy now, in the same area as the, well, dish detergent :teeth: in stores. Bring a package of those with you, and while I haven't seen them yet probably a half or quarter of a cloth would be plenty to clean a mug.

Pop has stations to rinse the mugs at if you finish your drink before heading out. We eat breakfast in the room to save time so I may not be the best person to ask though. Usually we're using the mug during pool time or on our day off. Does anyone know if you can buy an extra lid for the refillable mugs? I used mine for tea all winter and then my DH took it to work one night and lost the lid, so I just want to buy a replacement.

well consider that you are only surpose to use it for the first trip -what do you think.....

I think you are stuck buying a new one. tell him to buy his own and NEVER use yours again.....

but I know the feeling I use mind all the time too - they are pretty fun and make you remember Disney....

Last September I lost my lid at POFQ. I asked one of the cashiers at the food court if I could buy a new one and she pulled out a bag full of lids and gave me one. So yeah, you can get a new lid.

Yep, that's my thought. I like remembering my trip :goodvibes , especially in the cold CT winter :cold: when things like WDW and FL seem so far away. If I have to buy another one I'm going to make him buy it- oh wait, it's all the same money anyhow ;)

Cool! :thumbsup2 I replied to the post before yours and then I was like, Hey wait, what happens with people who lose them while they're on vacation. That makes sense, I'm sure people lose them while they're there. Woohoo :woohoo: this is good news! :dance3:

Oh, I don't want to bring it back, I just want to be able to use it at home without spilling. My :cat: likes to tip over cups and/or put her paw in them :sad2: Can't have that happening :)

Hi All ~

I am trying to set up rooms for November/December at POP for our moms. Should I get them preferred loctaion rooms or not? We are renting a car (staying at Saratoga Springs ~ DVC members), so will probably pick them up most of the time. Any suggestions? My mom had her knees replaced last year and still gets tired if she has to walk long distances at once. Thanks.

I am so excited :woohoo: , trip paid off, ADR's done, giftbasket for room ordered this morning, disney luggage bought and so ready to be packed :rotfl2:

Problem is, still 2 months to go :rotfl:

Now what am I going to do with my spare time???? :yay:

Ichez-- If a location closest to a parking lot (for pickup) is desired, I don't think that the preferred locations will get you there. Then again, if she'll be walking to the classic hall often, it probably would be a good thing to get a preferred room.

Note: I was just there and I'm still confused over which rooms (other than the 60's) are preferred (haven't been following the thread real close)
