This will also be our first trip to the POP. We have ressie's for 60's preferred with no smoking. What bus stop is the closest and how are the bus services there?
:confused3

There is only one "hub" location for the bus stops at POP. They are located right out front. we found the bus service to be good at POP. Don't get me wrong it's not like AKL! The buses are usually full but on the other hand there is always another one on the way or waiting. Secially at park closings. We liked the bus service at POP a lot better than the one at the All Stars.

heee...heeee....glad I could make you laugh!!! But I'm really SERIOUS about some Disney Magic going on!!! I WANT A BABY!!! The darn drugs aren't working so I'm hoping Disney world will!!! Did you ever see the commercial with the mommy and her "little souviner" That's all I need to bring home. It won't take up ANY room in my suitcase!! :rotfl2:

Yes, I'm crazy.....Anyway!!!! As I have it planned now (I'm such a control freak! I think I need therapy!) We are gettinig there on Monday evening and heading to MK for fireworks. Then Tuesday we are going to EPCOT....hoping the kids will have more of an appreciation for it if we do it first. Wednesday MGM, Thursday MK and Fri AK. Would like to pick one of the "warmer" days for a stop at the waterpark one afternoon and am trying to keep Friday night OPEN so we can go back and do any of our favorite things. As of now I don't have any reservations for meals but would REALLY like to do the sci-fi drive-in....I think the boys would really like that.....hoping to call while we are down there and get in during a non-busy time.....if not, oh well I suppose....not there for the food this time (I can't believe I just said that.....as my DH always says "It's all about the food for Bec!" LOL! He's right!)

I'm so exctied!!! After my morning chores are done I'm going to get the laundry goning and START PACKING!!!! I've been looking forward to this day ALL WEEK!!!!! Perhaps I should switch to Decaf!

Have a great day!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU for all you help!!! :teeth:

Yep you should switch to decaf! I went through the whole infertility thing for 11 years!!! And then I gave up diet pop and caffeine and switched to caffeine free green tea (1-2 cups a day) and one month later got pregnant - no drugs or anything! Hey not that scientific and not evidence based treatment but it worked! Will be going to POP hopefully for free dining with my now 15 month old DS! (and DH of course!) Can't wait!

Stayed at Pop Christmas week in the Tramp Building (50's section). Loved it! No bus issues at all, even during that busy week. 50's is close to Classic Hall and the buses, without paying extra. Check out the map on Page 1 of the post for a map of the property
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=7132807&postcount=3

to see the building location versus Classic Hall. That's where the food court, store and check-in are located. Buses are right outside the front entrance. Only one stop at the Pop.....and you don't share bus service with any other resort.
Only problem (not so much a problem, as a hassle) is the POP bus stop is the farthest from the front gate of all the parks.

Hi, can anyone offer any advice? We're going to Pop in just over two weeks time. Now I know you can't guarentee rooms, but I know you can make a request. We're an adult only group...some of us are going in and out of disney, while others are in disney the whole time. Which building, etc, would you recommend trying to get? I've heard some are better/worse than others for noise, getting around, etc. Thanks :)

I know this has been asked 1,000's of times....I just cant find the answer anywhere.

How much is it to rent a refrig at the POP?

Normally I drive there and bring my own Ice cooler to the room, cause I believe the refrig is quite pricey (just dont know how pricey). Anyhow, I will be flying down this time. An I am bringing my own Coffee maker ( nescafe!)
I am also renting a car, is here a Wal-mart (or the like) nearby where I can pick up one of those disposable coolers??

Thanks & sorry for the repeat question.

$10 a night unless you need it for medications and then it's free.

Does anyone know is part of the POP refillable mugs?

Is what part of the refillable mugs?

DISUNC - yes, the refrigerators are 10 bucks a night. I didn't find a Walmart close by (wasn't looking) but there is a nice Publix grocery store nearby (I asked for directions at the front desk - it is close to Gaylord Palms) and they have plenty of cheap coolers available.

Sorry about that. My brother wanted to know if milk was part of the refillable mugs as his wife loves to have cereal in the morning and he wanted to know where they could buy milk at WDW. Looks like my efforts to multitask didn't work so well while I was trying to DIS and talk with my brother at the same time.

Hi! You are going to have a great time at POP!! When we went we were an adult only group also.. we stayed in the 50's in Building 1... it was about a 3 min. walk to the Bus and the classic hall. It was right near the 50's pool as well, but not over looking it. It was quite, didn't hear any kids, but i think we were up and out of the hotel before any kids woke up! lol I haven't stayed in any of the other buildings so i can't say what they are like! i know that we loved the 50's!!!
HAVE FUN!! :cool1:

I Agree!!!! After a long day at MK (leaving at 2am) we found that we had to walk all the way around to get to the bus stop!! But it was worth it, because we never had to wait that long for a bus, not like the All stars were there is 1 bus for 3 resorts... they always seemed to be waiting for the bus.. i will always pick pop when i pick a Value resort! :thumbsup2

Can you rent a car in the lobby of Pop? If so, how much does it cost? I'd like to make a quick trip to Publix to buy a cheap cooler and some snacks, bread, milk, etc. for our stay.

Milk is not part of the "refillable mug" program. Yes, you can buy milk, in 8 oz & quart size! They have a mini grocery section in the back of the cafeteria (or whatever its called). You can get bread, fruit, ENTEMANNS DOUGHNUTS minor stuff...and the prices are reasonable (for resorts).

I was looking at the map and it looks like the 50's section, Building A is the best area for parking, refillable mugs and bus stops. Can anyone confirm this?
TIA :sunny:

There is not a car rental location at POP. I suppose you could take a cab but I have no idea how much that would cost you. Sorry.

If that is the "Lady" building, it is closer to all 3 than the others. We found the Tramp building to be close to the main building and bus stops, too, but if you were close to those in Tramp, you were farther from parking. I will tell you however that those parking spots in the 60's/50's area (nearest to the classic hall and in front of the Lady building) were usually full. We found we had to park back behind building 2/3 most of the time. We weren't concerned about the parking, however, as we used the buses primarily.

Am I understanding this correctly. The POP refillable mugs are only for the resort area, not the parks? :listen:

Also in reference to the cooler idea, are the ice machines at POP numerous and per floor or are you travelling all over to get ice? :sunny:

The only place you can refill your Pop mug is at Pop's food court.

I don't know about the ice machines. I haven't stayed at Pop yet. I'm hoping that there is an ice machine on each floor.

you can only refill your mug at POP, and yes there are ice machines on each floor i believe... we had one right around the corner from us...very convient. :)
