I have another silly question :)

I was wondering how deep the 50's pool (bowling pin) is - does anyone know?

I think that the computer pool was about 5' or so (but definitely less than 6'), would the bowling pin pool have the same depth?

can you tell I can't really swim? lol

Wow after 3 days of basicly reading every post on this thread I had almost all my questions answered. This was so helpful and it also sold me on staying at (POP) over a higher priced resort. Anyways Thank you Tyler for starting this thread. :flower: :flower: :flower:

As for my questions I was wondering if you think Jan 1st /2006 is a good time to check into the POP? I heard that it slows down during this time, is that true?

Also would you happen to know if people still swim in the pools in Jan.?

Thanks for all your help

Lannah,
I stayed at Pop during my honeymoon in December2003-January 2004. January 1st will be a little crowded but after that, I thought it was wonderful! I liked it because all the holiday stuff was still up and it was cool outside. Oh, and yeah...people still swim but most likely most of the time you will have the warm pool all to yourself!

Thank you for your help Bride03, I'm so excited about going. Now I will be in a better mood if I can find a code. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We will be at POP Jan 1-8, 2006 also. If it's like this year, the first 2 days were crowded, then it died down tremendously. Maybe we'll run into you while were all there. :earsboy:

We will be at Pop September 14th through the 22nd. Anyone else going at that time? And can someone tell me about the Lime green? Is that the universal Dis board signal?

We requested a room in the 50's building. Can anyone tell me where I should ask for a room so that we would be able to see the top of Illuminations and Epcot? I asked them for a view of the fireworks at Epcot, but they didn't sound too pleased to tell me anything about that. We will need 2 adjoining double rooms.

We will be at POP Century beginning July 10th - we will just be getting back from a Disney cruise and have a week booked afterwards.

We'll take our green shirts and wear them for recognization

Who else will be there during that week???

Does anyone know the extra cost to have 3 adults instead of 2 adults in a room?
Are rollaways available? If so how much? If not does anyone know the best way to arrange the room to accomodate a mom, a dad, a 2yr old child, and a grandfather?
Thank you

Tyler,

Thank you so much for putting up this thread. It has given me a lot more information than, WDW website, my DVD and CD-ROM, and my AAA travel agent about the POP Resort. My family and I will be there for the first time in 40 days and are looking forward to it very much. Is there anything else you can say to get us ready? Is there anyway to freeze bottles of water in the rooms so we won't have to spend so much money in the parks for drinks? Any further tips would be appreciated. I have always stayed in a resort with a frig and freezer so I have never had this problem before.

Thanks!
Bubba

1 - Relax... you're on vacation.
2 - You can request a fridge, I believe it's $10 per day. Or, you could get a cheap styrofoam cooler, and fill it with ice. Regardless, make sure to stay hydrated on these hot summer days. It's VERY important!
3 - Refer to #1.

Whats the most economical way to have 3 adults and a 2yr old stay together at Pop Century then?

Someone could share the bed with the 2 yr old, or you could have a crib (it will be tight in the room!) and 1 adult gets a bed alone, while the dh and dw sleep in the other full size bed. That's really the only configurations available, unless you want to get 2 rooms.

I've only read about 1/2 this thread, so I hope I"m not being overly redundant....We are planning a trip to the Pop for March '06. What is the best price I can hope for during this peak season? Our options to apply will be AAA and/or Fl Resident codes.

Also, if I request 50's building, non-smoking, top floor, facing lake/Epcot/fireworks--is this still considerned standard? Or have I somehow crossed over into "preferred" territory? Any room suggestions for the above requests? THANKS!

Soupermom ~ The best price I ever got during peak season was $74, FL resident rate.

The two 60's buildings are the only preferred buildings, so if you asked for "50's building, non-smoking, top floor, facing lake/Epcot/fireworks" you'd pay the standard price. You probably know this, but remember it's only a request. I think the earlier in the day you check in the better chance you have of getting what you ask for.

Thanks Sandy. $74 would be great! We should have an early morning flight, so early check in won't be a problem....

They have ice machines on each floor of Pop Century. You can fill your water bottle with ice. That would work well. If you request a refrigerator there is a small freezer part that may hold one or two water bottles.
