To let you know I will be staying at POP for the 4th time! I leave in 5 days! :Pinkbounc I call it my "second home." ;) Hope to see you driving a bus I am on! :wave2:

I'm sure you'll enjoy your 4th stay at Pop :) As for finding me on the buses... good luck! Starting in a week, I will be super duper hard to find.

I just returned on Friday from my second stay @ Pop. There were 11 of us with 3 rooms on the ground floor facing the kiddie pool. Everything was just as requested.

I want to thank Tyler....THANKS TYLER!! for the info I needed to get us to Chef Mickey. We had a 7:00am ps. We were @ the bus stop @ 6:15 and waited about 10 minutes for the bus. We let Mike the bus driver know we were going to Chef Mickey and he was kind enough to drop us off there. We got to Chef Mickey's with 10 minutes to spare.

This was my second stay @ Pop but the others in our group had never stayed here before. They were all very happy with Pop. Everyone said they would stay here again when they came back to WDW.

We leave in one week - and now I'm sort of worried - we are staying at the POP, but I had paid the extra $10 for the preferred rooms and now need to know which room to request. Any suggestions? Please and thank you! :cool1: two adults, no children
or doesn't it make any difference - what is the longest walk one might have to do to get coffee in the morning?

Depends on whether you want lower floor or upper floor, stairs or elevator, or if you want to face the Hippy Dippy Pool. If you want lower floor you can simply request "lower floor closer to Classic Hall". Then you could take the stairs close to Classic Hall. Otherwise, if you want upper floor and expect to use the elevator I don't think it matters much. For instance, you could be close to Classic Hall (i.e. coffee!!!!) :drinking1 but on the 4th floor ... by the time you walk to the elevator in the middle of the building you've walked the same distance as if you were at the opposite end of the building.

I was there in January and stayed in #6458 a 4th floor lakefront view in the 70's.

Let's have some more experienced hands than I weigh in on this one.

Haven't posted much on this Pop thread but wanted to say DH and I loved Pop enough from our August stay in 2004, we stayed one night before our move to WL for DH's extravagant birthday trip. We requested kingsize bed and were lucky enough to receive one, but both times were in the 80's building, as far away from Everything Pop as you could get. Even then the distance wasn't bad, and the computer pool also has a laundry room.

Now on that darn WL extravagant birthday trip, we bought DVC, so our next trip in July takes us to studios in BWV and BCV. I know sometime we'll stay at Pop again to avoid those really expensive Friday and Saturday nights at DVC!

I know if I could've gone I most certainly would've been enjoying the Florida sun at that time :)

Where in the Seacoast are you from? I'm from Rochester. :earsgirl:

Well - confirmed our reservations with AAA for our first Pop Century stay - September 14th for 4 nights! It is just DH and I, so I requested a king-bed room in the 70's ("our" era).

I've read through everything in this thread over the past week and it was very helpful in making the decision to go with POP!

The countdown begins!

:jumping1:

I have reused my mug that I got at POP...this is a touchy topic though because people think you should just buy a new one. My husband and I bought one in 2004 and used it again for our trip that we had in Jan of 2005. I would think so. If you mean can you use the POR mug at POP...I don't know, you'll have to see if anyone has done that.

As far as going to Circ from POP...just take the DTD bus and it will get you there. They stop once at Marketplace and once at West side.

Can I use the mug for coffee? Please and :sunny: thank you for letting me know!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it is my understanding the mugs can be used for any of the self service beverages. That would include coffee, hot chocolate and even the icees! :cool1:

I have a dumb question - not relating to the mug- where are the mr & mrs potato head statues - I would love to get a pic with them when I get to POP! Thanks!!

Yeah, I'm almost positive that's right. I think you can use it for basically anything! They are soooo worth it.

I might be wrong, but if I remember correctly, I think it was along the walkway between the 70s & 80s buildings.

My DH and I will be arriving at POP on 5/7. Our daughter is a CP and will be meeting us at POP, and we thought an evening on the Boardwalk would be fun! We would love to use the WDW bus for the evening but how best to get there from POP? Would appreciate any advice from the DIS experts! Thank you!

I would take a bus to MGM and either walk to BW (15min avery nice well lit walk) or take the boat. You will not need to go into MGM. Just ask the bus driver directions. Make sure you know what time MGM closes and reverse the route. You have around an hour after closing to catch a bus to your resort. If they close before you are finished with your evening take a bus to DTD and switch to a bus going to POP.

Walk through the middle of the main 70's area (fooseball players) going from Everything Pop towards the lake. Once you get to the very end of the buildings with the lake in front of you, they will be on your left (looking towards the 80's section.) They are set back in closer to the 80's area. Does that make sense?
