The Groovy New Pop Century FAQ Thread!

I'm new to the boards, only my second post but have the same unanswered question - does POP have a coffee maker in the room? I haven't stayed at a value resort in years and can't remember. Also - UP Disney, I was born and raised in Ontonagon - nice to see another UP disney fan.

i've heard people suggesting to bring a coffee maker for your room because there's not one and the food court only has nescafe (as most WDW resorts do, from what i gather). so i'm assuming there's not one in the room. not sure if you can pay extra for one or not. we're bringing a small 4-cup coffee maker that we don't ever use for our trip. i have to have my coffee in the morning!

POP has no coffee maker, so yes if you are a coffee drinking, as I am, then bringing one is a good idea!!;) :)

Thanks, I guess I am off to the store to buy a four pot coffee maker. I can't possibly function without a cup before my shower. I am really surprised though, most hotel rooms all over the country today do have coffee makers.

it's the one thing i've heard people complain about at disney - the coffee situation is definitely not good! if you're a coffee drinker i'd definitely bring a small coffee maker.

Just a guess here, but maybe the reason they don't have the coffee makers is because coffee is included with the refillable mugs in the food court. :confused3

We don't drink coffee so it's no biggie for us, but I agree - most hotels today do have a maker in the room. The Poly had one but we just shoved it up on the top shelf in the closet.

I understand if they don't have coffeemakers in the rooms, but do they have coffeepot coffee at the food court? (I really can't do the instant coffee thing)

I love to have my cup of coffee in the morning! But I am not bringing a small coffeepot on the plane with me. I'll have to make do and drink crappy coffee I guess, LOL! :surfweb:

We should start a coffee pot swap like they do w/ fridges. Anyone in?? I was there in sept and it's true the coffee is horrible. my husband can drink almost any nasty coffee on earth and he couldn't even drink this stuff. We have a mini coffee pot that I was going to bring, but not sure of what kind of damage it would get on the plane.:confused3

Well, I can't deal with nasty coffee. My kids know mom doesn't function well BC (before coffee).
My daugter works at a coffee chain in the mall and I always buy my coffee there. I guess I could buy a small coffee pot and make my own since we are driving. I'll have a cooler too so I guess I'll just need to keep my creamer on ice! Ahhhhhhhhhhh..my morning coffee........just like at home~

Well I will be there 3/2...I am going to look around for a 4 cup maker like punkin suggested!! We are only staying for 3 nights so I will have room to pack it! I will leave it for someone not sure if they would hold it though for a period of time!!

maybe we should start a thread for the coffee maker? I'm not really that computer savvy. If anyone else wants to try go for it. Otherwise maybe I'll give a shot. We can work out details.

I bought the cutest little coffeemaker with a stainless mug as the pot. ( It brews right into one big mug which you can take with you.
They also make 4-cup coffee makers with the stainless steel carafe(pot) so you don't have to worry about damage during travel.

The one-cup is by black and decker and it was only 16.99 at Walmart in Canada. I was so excited to know I could have my cup of coffee in the morning without leaving the room!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Okay who ever is in for wanting to start a thread on sharing coffee makers at POP let me know...I will start the thread and keep the list updated.

I'm almost positive that we could find someone to pass it on to at POP if your willing to do that.

i would be willing to share my 4-cup coffee maker, but i promised my 20-year-old little brother who just got his first apartment that he could have it after we take it to disney with us. sorry! it's easy for us to lug ours with us to FL b/c we're driving from atlanta and can just throw it in the back of the car - no kids or dogs on this trip, so we have an entire backseat to stow things away in! by the way, you can get a 4-cup coffe maker at walmart for less than $20. just remember to buy the smaller coffee filters because the regular-sized ones are too big and it may make a mess!

Start the thread! I will start it off 3/2...I leave first thing 3/5 will be ready to pass it on!!!

I will find a 4 cup maker somewhere!

Ok, I am not sure which buildings are now considered standard or preferred. I ahve read bits of this post, but no way can I read close to 200 pages! Well I asked for a standard, smoking room, as DH smokes. But really I didn't need to, because he won't be smoking in the room becuase he doesn't smoke around DD. So anyways, does anyone have any idea, where smoking, standard rooms are, and can we switch to non smoking when we get there if we want. I might not though, that way he can just go out of the room and smoke and hopefully not bother others.

:coffee:
Count me in the PoP Coffee Pot Swap for 9/22 to 9/29! Who is starting this new thread? I saw a 4 cup Mr. Coffee @ Wal-Mart for $15. :) :wave2:

Okay everyone...I'm starting the new coffee pot swap....I personally don't think I'm allowed to do it here...The thread has to be put on the budget board with the other swap stuff as in fridges...etc.. PM me with your dates and I will see the dates you want are still around. As for the details I will work that out in the next couple days. Some of the important info I need is your REAL name...due to the coffee maker being put on hold for when you check into POP. The CM should tell you at check in that you have a package waiting in your name, but if not ask the CM if there is one.... Okay so here's the important info that I need ....

Okay everyone....still waiting on word from the mods but instead of PMing me...email me please since my PM mailbox is almost filled. Thanks.... metallicawindsor@yahoo.com

Screen Name and Real Name
Your dates you are there

Okay...Off to start a new thread for this.
