Q: Will Pop Century feature an Arcade?
Yes! The Fast Forward Arcade is located in Classic Hall, across from Everything POP.

WE purchased ARCADE cards at our last visit at CBR. I know the cards still have like 40 dollars on them. The question is - does the pop arcade use the cards, and do you think they will work? They are from last november, and we are going again in this upcoming november. Wondering if they expire...:confused3

I don't see why they shouldn't work...

I would think the cards worked the same way as game tokens.

Give it shot, bring them with you. I'm pretty sure they'll work

On the old groovy pop thread the airconditioning subject was brought up a couple of times. Most people assumed it was the same as All Stars, but pop was built different. The origional post on THIS thread about overriding it was what is used for Allstars. On the old thread,( I think that was where it was) they did have a post about how to overide pops. It was completely different. I even printed the directions at one time, but I think they are long lost!
If i ever come across it, I will post them. It was kind of complicated, if I remember right.

I'm not sure if these are the ones for POP or the all stars:

To override the motion sensor on the a/c at Pop Century:
The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)
1) Press the ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN buttons together. The digital display will change to 'CA'.
2) Press the ON/OFF and DOWN button together. The digital display will change to 'OR" (or something similar).
You have just deactivated the motion sensor. This will last for three days at which point you will have to repeat the process."

Those sound like the ones I printed, I think. I'm going today, so I'll let you all know if it works when I get back!

I just booked for the very crowded week of July 20. I almost booked an All Star. I should be ashamed of myself. I love POP!!!! BTW, this thread is awesome...

Does anyone know where is the best place to stay (blding or room #) for a standard connecting room that is the closest walking distance to the bus stop and food court? I will be traveling with a lot of small children, and I'm trying to go with the most convient option.

Or is just more reasonable to get preferred connecting rooms?

If your room is too warm call maintainence. There is a button on your phone to push. They will come down and override your thermostat from the lowest setting of 68 to 64. You can then adjust it from 64 to 72. Otherwise you're stuck with 68 to 72. Once it has a lower setting overriding the motion sensor wasn't a concern. It stayed nice and cool in the room.

It took maintainence 15 minutes to arrive to our room and 5-7 minutes to override the system.

I suggest as soon as you arrive in your room to call housekeeping for your extra towels, pillows and hangers. Then phone maint. for the thermostat issue. :) This way while you unpack, you can get these things out of the way.

We tipped the housekeeping runner and the maint. guy. :) The maint. guy did not want to take the tip, but we insisted.

There seems to be more than one type of thermostat in use at various resorts so here is another set of instructions:

Press the power button and the down arrow button simultaneously. The letters "bp" should appear in the display indicating you are in "bypass" mode. Then you can use the up/down buttons to set the temperature. You may have to do this every 24 hours or every few days.

And yet another:

The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)

1) Press the ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN buttons together. The digital display will change to 'CA'.

2) Press the ON/OFF and DOWN button together. The digital display will change to 'OR" (or something similar).

You have just deactivated the motion sensor. This will last for three days at which point you will have to repeat the process.

These instructions were from a post regarding BCV,OKW and it worked fine.
TO CHANGE AC THERMOSTAT SETTINGS THE THERMOSTAT HAS TO BE PUT INTO "SERVICE MODE" IT IS SIMPLE TO DO BY PRESSING THE FOLLOWING KEYS ON THE FRONT OF THE THERMOSTAT.

EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE:

1. PRESS (AND KEEP PRESSED) THE F/C KEY

2. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE DISPLAY KEY.

4. RELEASE THE F/C KEY.

UPON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS SEQUENCE, THE LCD WILL DISPLAY PAR (PARAMETER) AND THE PARAMETER NUMBER.

1. PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL # 6 APPEARS. (NEW MODELS # 24)

2. PRESS THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. THE CURRENT LOW TEMPERATURE IS DISPLAYED.

4. PRESS THE DOWN ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL THE DESIRED ROOM
TEMPERATURE APPEARS

5. PRESS THE F/C KEY

Thanks for all the instructions on the temp control. I was concerned about that. We like sleeping in the arctic zone. We are taking a fan with us but still that would not be enough.

We are coming in September and really want to stay at the POP. We are really hoping for free dining but have heard rumors that they don't always offer free dining for all the resorts. Anyone know if that is true and how likely will we be able to get free dining staying here?

The question is 'if' free dining will be offered at all, not which resort. In the past it has been available at POP so don't worry about that. However, it is only available to a limited number of reservations. If it becomes available call immediately.

At Everything POP They sell DvD's Please tell me! Do you have some pictures of the Shops!

We stayed at POP the first week of February. We had connecting rooms on the first floor of the 70's building. From our window we could see the giant big wheel. I think our room #'s were 6188 and 6189. I couldn't believe how close were were to the food court.
