Absolutely! There are normally cabs hanging around the resorts (if not the concierge desk should be able to call one for you). But it cost us $20 to get from Pop to the GF a couple of years ago, so be forewarned that it's not a cheap ride! :rotfl: (I am guessing it would be about the same for the Poly since they are right next to each other).

That being said, I still would make it for another night. YMMV, but we NEVER seem to get to get to MCO on time when we take the later in the day flights. (But this is more of a Southwest Air/Chicago thing since Midway is a Hub for them). We are landing at 5:15 pm (ASSUMING we are on time ;)) and hope to get to MK that night but are just doing CS to make sure we don't miss an ADR.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I think I am going to see how it goes. In feb when we went, it took FOREVER to get from the plane to our room. We were exhausted... Our flight was a bit late, we got confused at picking up our luggage (A side vs. B side) DME stopped at every resort you can think of BEFORE ours and there was trouble at check in (our res. was lost). All of this being said, our plane was scheduled to land at 10:06pm and we were in our room by 12:30 am. I would not anticipate all the troubles we had but even if it did take 2 1/2 hours that will still give us an hour to get to our ADR. I think that a taxi would work in that case.

You didn't mention which resturant your ADR was at? But either way heres another option. If you don't want to change your ressie or can't, keep it. (personally I have never needed 90min to get to an ADR, even from allstars to the Poly) I think you would have enough time to get there. Even giving yourself 1.5hr to get to pop at 730 then 30 bus to MK and boat over, I can't imagine you not making 840. Also, since its at the Poly, when you get to Pop consider this, if there's a huge line for MK and the Epcot bus comes first, take the Epcot bus, hop on the monorail at Epcot (you dont need to go through the park or use a ticket, you have direct access to the monorail) and take the Mono to the TTC then walk to the poly (its about 2 mins walk, slow pace). That can save alot of time, especially if MK is busy that night.

If for some reason you do find your flight delayed and getting to pop after 730, check-in and go to the dining reservations line and tell them your running late for your adr as your plane got delayed, usually they can work their magic and move your adr back a few minutes or call the resturante and let them know you will be a tad late. (Dh and I had to do this when a morning bus for AK never showed up and we were late for our ADR at Boma):)

Good advice on letting them know we are running late. I have never been to Ohana. (where our ADR is scheduled for) I really don't want to cancel...even if it means taking a taxi.

Taxi is a good back up plan. Last year we missed our Adr since we missed our connecting flight since we had to de-ice. So we were suppose to be in Orlando at 12 noon and arrived at 5pm.

I guess I would be more worried about the flight being on time than ME.

Just back from a week at Pop and had such a great time! We requested connecting rooms in the 50's and we were in the 60's but we did get our connecting rooms which was the more important request. We were in building 6, 3rd floor overlooking the kiddie fountain pool. We could here people in the pools at night but we were so tired that it did'nt bother us at all.

Our room was not refurbished but they were working on the 4th floor of our building while we were there.

Housekeeping was great, we got towel animals 3 out of the 7 days we were there and my boys loved them. Luggage services was great too. After we checked in my DH went to see about borrowing a luggage cart so we could get our stuff from the car to our room, and one of the luggage service CMs told my DH to park in the 60's lot and he would meet him over there with a cart. 5 minutes later they were on their way to our room all loaded up. They also brought up the fridge we got from a swap when my DH inquired about picking it up.

We did online check in and were able to get into our room after checking in at 9:00AM. The CM checking us in was not the friendliest but everyone else at Pop was so nice and helpful with any questions we had. When we got up to our room, we found it had not been made up from the last person staying there but a quick call to Housekeeping took care of that and it was done by the time we got back from lunch at the foodcourt.
We loved Pop and will definetely be staying there again on our next trip to WDW. The foodcourt was really good with lots to choose from. Wish our next trip was sooner than 2 years away.

I guess this is where I just do not have any experience that would cause me to worry. We always fly Alaska and only once did we do a trip that required a stop. (we always take direct flights) All but one flight (and we fly a coupe of times a year) has arrived within a 10 minute window of when it was scheduled. The one flight that didn't make it within that window departed late, but still didn't arrive too much later than when it was originally scheduled to land. All of this being said... it is hurricane season and I am aware that this could cause problems. I guess I will just have to figure it out in a week. :goodvibes

Westayed at pop in 06.The service was great and we have heard that it is just getting better.

We are thinking about online registration, but have not really sure how to do it. Can Anyone help us with that? We leave in just over 2 weeks and would love to do things the easiest way we can.

Where you in building 4 or 5 of the 60's? Thanks for the report. Glad you had a good stay.

Are you talking about online check-in? You do that when you are within 10 days of your stay. I do it every time (only because I'm so excited to get to Disney, doing that makes it more "real".) If you do online check in, go to online-check-in at the counter. Your room keys and ticket package will be waiting for you - with your room already assigned. They can change your room if you don't like where they put you. I've never gone without doing online check in, so I couldn't tell you if it's better or not - maybe someone else can chime in.......

9 more days for me! :cheer2::banana::cheer2:

Thanks to everyone for all the great info.

We check in on 9/4--9/11 for our first stay at Pop. Have stayed at a mod and a deluxe, but wanted to try a value this time, and DD7 wanted to stay at Pop after looking at the pics. She seems much more excited about Pop than she did in December for our AKL trip. I know DW and myself are excited about the price difference!

Thanks again to everyone, and come on Labor Day weekend!

:rotfl: this is our DD too! We really wanted to go back to AKL but DD really wanted to stay at POP :confused3. when we asked her way she says "It feels like home to me. I just love the colors and the food court there" So pop it is for us again. the savings is very nice for us. And seeing we really only sleep in the room it's all good. Plus DD loves that we can decorate our window at pop and we can't at AKL. Have a great trip.

I agree! Pop does feel like home. I have stayed in several other resorts and Pop is the one that just feels right. I will be back there in January and can't wait.

Wish I were going back sooner!!! ::MinnieMo

:cool1: 9 more days for us too!!! And so far DS doesn't have a clue! :ssst:

I have not done on-line check in YET. I never have in the past, but also have never had to wait in line for check in either. I am gambling that I am on an odd timed DME bus and there won't be too many of us getting off, thus no line :wizard:

And I admit, I am relieved that Danielle is going to stay away from the East Coast, but the area behind it (soon to be TD #6 ) and the one about roll off the coast after that have me worried

Now for a Pop question, I am thinking about ordering a gift basket later today for DS. Does Pop have runners to put it in the room after we check in (but while we are at the park) or can I only pick it up at the front desk?

Thanks!

Where are you looking to keep an eye on the hurricanes/tropical storms/depressions? I've been watching a website, but is only showing Danielle.

Thanks! We are pretty much "park commandos" so we don't spend a whole lot of time in the room either, so I don't think the room size will bother us.

Honestly, I didn't notice much difference in the room size at AKL as compared to our room at POFQ, and the price difference was huge. We are really looking forward to Pop, it looks like such a fun place.

I'm staying there for the first time in October...I'm looking so forward to it. I've stayed at the All Stars a few times and really like them too, but this one just seems to be so different.

My girls love pop. Tried to get them to stay at CBR didn't work. So we are back at pop. We also booked for next year. It is really affordable and we use to be a moderate or deluxe family.
