Hi all...we will be heading for our first stay at POP Oct. 1st-Oct. 10th!! Only 37 more days!! Woohoo!! My questions is...Does pop have pegs to hang things on in the room? I found a travel hamper at target yesterday for $1, but it's a hanging one, so just curious if there is anywhere that I might be able to hang it or should I just try and find a standing one? (I hate putting my dirty clothes back in the suitcase with clean clothes..haha) Hope my question makes sense! TIA!:thumbsup2

If memory serves, there is a hook on the back of the bathroom door that I would hang my robe on...:surfweb:

Tropical Depression 7 (soon-to-be Earl) is getting a little too close for comfort. :scared1::eek:

No worries I was there in September 2004 it was one hurricane after another. We stayed at WL that year and after the hurricane came threw disney was back to normal. Well minus all the missing shingles and alot of stuff just everywhere.

:rotfl: That was when I had my first program! I worked at the Boardwalk, though. I didn't do the ride-out crew, but I knew a lot of people who did.

The old rooms don't have the pegs like the All stars but I think the refurbed rooms do. I am sure someone who has stayed in a refurbed room will answer for sure. If I were you I would hang it from a hanger in the closet so it doesn't get too heavy for the hooks anyway.

We just got back on Monday evening. We were pleasantly surprised with Pop. We enjoyed our stay. We were in building one of the 1950's on an end room with our friends room adjoining ours. It was a quiet location and we could not have asked for better. It was a 5 min walk to the food court and buses.

We had a fridge and it was a square one.

Was your room refurbed? If it had a flat screen tv and curtain in the vanity doorway, then it was a refurb Only saying this because I'm assuming it was 1st stay at POP based on your signature.

If you are in a refurb room, there are pegs in the room now. Non-refurb rooms only have a peg on the back of the bathroom door (I think).

We have never checked-in online. Do you get to put in your room requests? Seems like its a great idea but I am not sure the advantages. We always get there at off times and rarely have more than a 5 minute wait. Thoughts?

We just stayed in building 6, 2nd floor room 6266. There was a peg rack on the wall from which we hung our wet beach towels. I brought my beach towels because at Pop, you have to bring your room towels to the pool and then request more towels. I just prefer my own beach towels. Anyway, there is also a hook on the back of the bathroom door. I brought my own hangers because there is never enough. The new refurbed dresser only has 3 drawers and a few cubbies. It doesn't hold as much as the old one. You'll need to hang more clothes. We were only 3 people and needed to hang up much of our clothes. There is a privacy curtain now between the dressing area and the bedroom. This is quite nice. The shower now has a curved outward curtain rod. The only thing was we had to deal with a cooler because I didn't want to pay $10 a day for a fridge when they sell them for $48 at Walmart. I didn't get in on a fridge swap because we arrived on a Wednesday evening. Most swaps start on Sat or Sun. Anyway, the A/C control did appear to have a motion detector, but it didn't seem to do anything. The A/C was always on what we set it when we got up in the morning and when we returned from the parks.

When I checked in online, it gave me the option in two check boxes for ground floor room and pack n play. It didn't have a box to write it anything, although they did have my request for a 70's room anyway.

Thanks for all the responses.. I didn't even think about hanging it in the closet area from a hanger! (duh.. my disney brain is working overtime right now with the planning! :lmao:) We don't normally hang our clothes since it's usually just shorts and t-shirts...just live out of the suitcases! I am so excited.. only 36 more days til' we are there!! Why is it that the closer it gets the harder it is to wait?!:rotfl:

The month before is my favorite part. It's the anticipation that is fun for me. Well not to lessen when we are there but by that point there is nothing to anticipate any more. lol

We only hang wet bathing suits ourselves. I limit us to one suitcase each so we don't bring too much either.

WOW It is hard to believe that we are almost there. Time to get to the serious packing and buying things that we need, so were dont have to pay disney prices. We use dryer sheets in our luggage and then they go in with the wash. We have been collecting shirts and shorts so now we are looking to see what will match with the most. We are 16 days and counting down. Hope to see disers down there. POP from 9/11 to 9/21.
See you there! m & c:cheer2: :cool1: :yay:

i know that you can order in giordanos and dominos is there any other takeouts you can have delivered to pop

You can get carry-out boxed large pizzas from the food court. I saw many families with them. Don't know the price though.

We booked a preferred room for our stay. I was going to fax our room request (ground floor, 50's or 60's building, corner room) but my husband said we are better off telling them our requests when we check in. Opinions?

Your not better off waiting until you check in. :sad2: Your room will already be assigned. You should call Disney and add your request to your ressie.
I know most ppl will tell you not to ask for a certain room number but we have done that 2 times and recieved the actual room we requested. :worship: Although our last time we did not ask for a certain room number we did get all our requests. We did have a corner room in the 60's building 4 room 4113. This was a perfect room for us. We always ask for ground floor in building 4 and they never fail to give it to us. I always put the request on my ressie and I have never faxed in days before my stay. And the last two trips I did online check in, both times my room was ready and my requests we honored. :yay:

Got my Me vouchers last week. Today I didn't run to the mail box as I normally do. I didn't get the mail til almost 4 pm. Inside was my Mickey mail Vouchers and luggage tags. Also my disney rewards came also. It felt like Christmas today! Good thing all my mail was wraped in flyers or my neighbors would have heard me squeel at the mailbox.

Ok... at the Pop.. you know how there are music speakers along walkways in each decade area to provide ambient music appropriate to the decade you're walking through? I gotta know... Why in the world is the ONLY genre of music for the 70's Disco!! Come on! Disco WAS from the 70's... no other decade wants to claim it..:sad2:.. but really... there was so much more to love about 70's music than disco. what about KISS? Foreigner? Queen? Pink Floyd? Stephenwolf? Dolly Parton? Willy Nelson? Kenny Rogers?!! After 9 days I was ready to change the record over for goodness sakes! I wonder who is in charge of said music? :confused3

So now I'm curious....what kind of music is playing in the other sections of the resort (and what groups/musicians)?

Well, the 50's section has the kind of music that you think of as the 50's... juke box stuff... a wop bop a doo wop a womp bamp boom!! I don't remember what was playing in the 80's but it was from the 80's... I can't remember though... 60's was all peace and love....:hippie:
