Can anyone tell me what a good room number/ area is in the 70's section that is a standard room?

I've ben in the 50's and 60's now I want to try out 70's and if not then 80's.

I would like to try '70's and the 80's! POP is Awesome! And also I forgot to tell you that Pop Century Fast Forward Arcade ? closed for refurbishment May 10?13.

Hey everyone! :3dglasses

Well, I just changed my 4 adults, 2 kids under 3 ressie at Polynesian to 2 adjoining (or is it connecting with a door?) rooms in a preferred bldg @ Pop.

I was really looking forward to Poly, but I don't think I can hack a whole week in 400 Sq Ft with another family! :scared1:

We're going down in December - can't wait! 8 months is too far away!

I don't think I could be with my own family in a 400Sq FT room for a week.:rotfl2:

Much better to get separate rooms, then you get more beds plus two bathrooms!:thumbsup2

Don't worry, December will be here before you know it.:goodvibes

1/2 of Buildings 1 (Fifties) and 6 (Seventies)
1/6 of Buildings 3 (Fifties) and 10 (Seventies)
2/3 of Buildings 4 and 5 (Sixties)

It's the rooms that are within a 500 foot radius of Classic Hall.

I called over the weekend and made a request for a room In the 60's Bldg groond floor, faceing the pool. I did this last Oct and ended up In the 70's Bldg(for the 2nd time) so any suggestons??. Faceing the pool would be a plus but we really wanted to try the 60's Bldg:cool1:

One other serious detriment to staying at an All Stars used to be the shared bus service, but now all stars each have their own bus service.

This is an answer that I got on another thread. I asked about the All Stars having their own busses.

In August when we stayed at ASmu often they had their own buses. At night they did NOT share and often in the Am the bus was full leaving ASMu and went right to the park. Now in the slower afternoons we did share....

So, it seems that its a sometimes thing. I still dont think I will risk a sometimes when I know Pop is a sure thing!

I'm pretty sure that all the poolside rooms in the '60's buildings are preferred, so if you weren't paying for preferred, that would explain why you didn't get what you asked for.

If you have a standard room and really want the '60's, ask for a lakeview as those are all standard.

Poolview in 60's is definitely preferred so you would have to be booked preferred to get it! I requested it last august and had preferred and got a nice room facing the kiddie pool not what I wanted but I guess my request shouldve said 60's poolview flower pool view. But it was only a few footsteps further! 50's poolview is standard we had that it was awesome loved it! This yr we are trying 70's or 80's thoughts that the 60's and 50's pools are to the right and 90's to the left so we will be in the middle of all! lol!

FYI Connecting rooms have the door in the middle that connects the rooms and adjoining are side by side does not gaurantee connecting door! So if you want the door be sure to request connecting not adjoining.:goodvibes

Thanks! Couldn't remember what they were called - did request the connecting with a door, so I think I am all set. :goodvibes

I am so greatful to have stumbled upon this thread. I will be at POP this May and it is awesome to know so much about it now! Thanks everyone for all the posts and info!

To me this means, like any other resort, that once a bus is filled, they stop making more pick ups is all. It doesn't mean that each AS resort has its own bus tho. ;) So, you're right, Pyrate Pryncess - 'sometimes' is NOT a guarantee of Any sort! ;)

DD and I have stayed at Pop and never requested a specific building. We have stayed in 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's always in a standard room.

Now we are taking DH and DD's BF along. I think they would enjoy the 90's the best. I would prefer to be closest to Classic Hall. If memory serves me correctly, the standard rooms in the 80's and 90's seem to be further away from Classic Hall than the standard rooms in the 60's and 70's. Is this the case?

Which building's have the most convenient standard rooms to Classic Hall? I am not sure what to request and would appreciate some ideas. We like a lake view as close to Classic Hall as possible in a standard room, in a quiet area.

Does anyone know when building 3 will be done with their reno's??
I love bld 3 lake view...so peaceful. :)

All Value resorts (which include Pop and the All Stars) only have "standard" rooms in size and decor. The exception being the family suites located in All Star Music.

What is called "preferred" is location not decor or size. The location closest to the food, transportation, gift shops are "preferred". So if you want to located close to eveything reserve and pay for a preferred room.

Just booked two rooms at POP for Oct. 1st -9th!! :woohoo: Our first onsite stay ever!!:banana::banana: The CM i talked to on the phone was marvelous and I'm so excited about our family vacation!!:cool1::cool1: Looking at this thread is getting me ever more excited!! These six months are not going to go by fast enough!! I do have one question though.. I told the CM that my sister is handicapped (we don't really need the handicapped accessible room, because her wheelchair is not that big and neither is she :goodvibes) But I told her we would need one close to an elevator or on the ground floor if at all possible...she said that they could do that. I guess my question is, should I still call in advance of our trip to request it again? And if so, how far in advance do I call? That's really the only request I have, I would love to stay in a refurbed room, but we won't be in there that much anyway, so it really doesn't matter! Thanks!!:thumbsup2

Yes, I already know that.

Can anyone help answer my questions?
