Just thought of another question:

We wanted to get a room at the back of the 60's or 70's building, lakeview, but when I look at the map, it seems far to go from the main building to the back of any of the buildings. Are the buildings designed to "cut through" the center to get to the back or do you have to walk all the way around?

All the buildings are open and allow for cutting through to make things shorter. Compared to the moderates all walks are not that bad. We just got back from staying in the 80'S Roger Rabbit building and did not mind the walk at all. Stayed in the 70's on a previous trip with a lake view and it was fine as well.

We love Pop and will always stay there unless we get a great deal at either Lodge.

GOING BACK - 8/15/2010 book the come back free food offer!!!!

:cool1:

Oh, I did not know that! Thanks! So, I'm just calling the main reservation line than & not the hotel line, right?

Also, does anyone know if the bus stop has any cover? Not a big deal, just wondering if I'm out in the elements or not!

Right! No covering for POP bus stop - lines are roped off so everyone just gets in a line. No protection from the elements.

Just thought of another question:

We wanted to get a room at the back of the 60's or 70's building, lake-side, but when I look at the map, it seems far to go from the main building to the back of any of the buildings. Are the buildings designed to "cut through" the center to get to the back or do you have to walk all the way around?

It's really not far at all - 60's and 70's farthest might be maybe a 3 min walk, 4 min stroll. There is not center, other than the pool, but paths go between the buildings -it is not large at all and kind of pretty.

Hope this helps!

OK, had to laugh! Just called DW to make a room request....asked for building 4, 5 or 6, lake side...the CM says, "I don't think there is a lake at POP" :scared1: I told her it was called HourGlass Lake & it does indeed exist!

I think I might fax my room request straight to POP next week....just in case.

Still more questions!

1) Do all of the rooms have retractable clotheslines?

2) What kind of toys are allowed in the pools? For example, kickboards or small inflatable rings?

Thanks!

Did you get a bounceback offer in your room? I didn't and just randomly called the extension on a lame 20% off bounceback that the front desk gave to me when I asked for one. It was a great surprise when the CM that answered offered me the free dining :yay: We are going back to POP too on 8/21/2010. Can't beat this deal.

I'm glad to hear bounceback is being offered! We booked last year and would love to do so again this year!

question to all those who know:

we're arriving at Pop in September, arrive in the morning (about 10am), will have done online check-in, theres 8 of us in 2 rooms, we've requested adjoining rooms.

When we check-in, if they dont have the room available thats fine as we want to go to Epcot for the day and return after illuminations.

my question (finally!) is if we are away all day and when the rooms become free will they automatically transfer our luggage up there for us and will they call us if we leave them a cell no. to let us know during the day what rooms we have been assigned?

thanks all.

Does anyone know if they're offering more Pop Century merchandise now? I know for the past year or so there's been less and less. Back in February, all we could find were the spinner pin, add-a-charm, and an ink pen with the POP logo on it. I remember they used to have the neatest tie-dyed shirts, and all sorts of neat POP logo stuff! :goodvibes

What do they have now?

Never heard about the retractable clothesline. I would love to know this also.

I know this doesn't apply to Pop but Goofys Candy store has changed DDP snack credit options. You no longer can get pretzel rods or rice krispie treats as a snack credit. Just thought I would pass this along.

I can't believe that two weeks from today we will be checking into POP. It still doesn't seem real that we are going.

I am right there with you!! We leave in 2 weeks for Pop also. Can't wait. I will be the lady with a 10yr old son and a 2 yr old girl in a stroller losing my mind!!! LOL No I am planning on a wonderful trip.

Waiting at the Orlando airport to fly home after 6 fun nights at Pop. I'll post more when I get home but everything went great. Crowds were definitely going down over the week. We had a clothesline in our room and saw kids with various inflatables at the pool. Pop provided life vests and beach balls to play with. Lifeguards left early though - never there in the evenings. And it was very hot so the pools were a bit uncomfortably warm especially during the day. Never hit lines or crowds in the food court but w were usually there around 7 am or 8 pm. Booked or bounceback for next year same week!

I see that some of my fellow Pop lovers are either there all ready or will be there soon. I have a question that I hope one of you can answer. I have posted this question before but it really wasn't answered; just an alternative was given to me.

How many inches thick is the bathroom door?

I brought an over the door shoe holder with me last time and the metal holders would not fit over the door becasue they were too small.

I'm really hoping someone can help me answer this question.

Thanks in advance!

We are getting so excited! We had a scare that we weren't going to be able to go because of my younger brother being hospitalized for a few days :sad1: But now we are back on track and keep our Disney dream going! 11 days!!

If you use the Magical Express service, they will automatically deliver your luggage to your room. If you have carried your own luggage and store it with bell services, it will not be delivered automatically. You can leave a cell # and they can call or text you when your room is ready. I got a text so I would not have to remember or write down the room #. They will tell you the building when you check in but not the actual room.
