Just booked a preferred room at POP for a quick weekend trip in September. What are the chances of actually getting a king bed if we request one? It's our first trip alone since we had our son last year and the double beds are not very romantic. Just seeing if it would be better if I upgraded to CBR or POFQ even though we really want to stay at POP :dance3:

We have always requested a King room since DH is 6'5" and I am 5'9" and we have never received one. This is the reason we stopped staying at Pop, we don't like spending our vacation in separate beds :thumbsup2 I know there aren't many King rooms and that they're all the accessible rooms, so perhaps it depends on how many people require an accessible room at the time of your stay.

Well isn't that depressing  I guess we have some thinking to do!

Sorry!! I just wanted you to have all the facts :thumbsup2 I know there are people on here who haven't needed an accessible room, yet have received a King room anyway. I think it just depends on what's needed at the time you stay and there's no real way to know that before you get there. I really wish King rooms were something you could pay more for and not just a 'request.' Especially for people in which size in an issue.

We have stayed at Pop once and are going again in Aug. Last time we requested a king, we too are tall. The first night we got two doubles the second night they switched our room to a king. They were very nice in helping us move our luggage. We packed everything up and sat it by the table. Someone came in and move it to our new room. We were at the parks and when we got our new room, everything was there. It was very nice.

Funny thing is we have stayed at Boardwalk, switched rooms 4 time during 14 days(it was a pre-wedding, wedding night and then honeymoon) and no one helped us move our luggage or offered. We could have called bell service, but didn't. I was so impressed with Pop, they offered to move the luggage with out us asking.

Like a PP mentioned, we take the Purex sheets. I don't 'love' them at home, but on vacation they work just fine and save a lot of space and liquid issues in your luggage :) Also, if you go here and do the survey they'll send you a free sample pack (which includes enough to do 2 loads.) It says it takes 6-8 weeks, but mine only took about 3 :) :)

Thanks for the link! Just ordered my for my Aug trip!

Another question that I didn't get answered from my TA was can I do online check-in if I used DU to book my trip? I know the confirmation #'s are different and I'm not in the Disney system. In the past we've always arrived later at night so no need for online check-in. This trip we will be arriving around 6 PM so I was thinking of giving online check-in a try. Can I?:confused3

we are arriving about midnight and thinking of checking in online too.
Do you think that will make a difference of getting our requests met>?

Does anyone know what time the food court opens in the morning and what time it gets really busy?

Yes! Food Court opens every day at 6AM and it starts to get really busy from 8-10. I am a morning person so i was there for breakfast by 7:30 every morning and on a disney bus by 8!

So you put your requests in when you did online check-in?
I don't remember being able to put in any requests at online check-in. My 1st floor request was already noted when I did online, but I called in that request prior.

I also tried faxing my requests, and the only thing I got was my phone-in request for 1st floor. :confused3

We're here now and we're having a bad time with luggage/bell services. :headache:

It is our first time using online check in. My daughter and her friend would like to use 2 credit card numbers for extras as the package has been already paid. Can they put 2 credit card numbers down when using online check in or is it better to wait until they get to Pop.

I have been looking for travel size containers for laundry detergent but I can't seem to find any. We use liquid at home, but I'm a little nervous that it might spill in the suit case if I bring it. Do you usually just buy the soap at the resort? If so, about how much are they and about how many loads will I get out of each one from the vending machine? If you bring the soap from home, how do you pack it so that it doesn't spill? Or, do you know where I can find a travel size container of laundry detergent? Thanks for your advice!

Travel sizes are at Target. I used the All like someone else said. As with any liquids when packing, they go in a ziplock bag for travel. As does shampoo, hairspray, etc. Even when I pack water or juiceboxes.

Not ALL King rooms are handicaccessible. But I believe the majority is.

I actually love spending it in seperate beds. LOL! I get to stretch out. Usually DD takes turns sleeping with me or DH, and I always try to convince her that sleeping in daddy's bed is much better. LOL! :rotfl:

So... online check-in. Some people seem to like it and I have to ask. I'm not sure what the purpose is? Last time I was at Pop, the online check in line was long and there was hardly anyone in line for the front desk. Checking in at the front desk never takes very long with the CM, and I sort of like getting a chance to talk to the CMs for a minute while they get everything together and checking over the details of my reservation in person. Now, airlines, online check in for THAT I love. Just curious if there's some helpful perk I'm missing.

Also, to the folks talking about laundry detergent: I want to second, third, and fourth using the "laundry detergent sheets" things and I wish I could remember the name of the brand, but they are made of awesome. I only know of one brand that makes them, so if you have allergy restrictions that might come into play here... but if not, they are SO much easier.

Purex 3in1

My DD used these in college, worked great! and she's an equestrian major so her clothes get smelly:scared1:

Sending them with my DS when he goes to Disney at the end of this summer. So much easier to pack than detergent and softener. May cost more but worth the convenience

PUREX, thank you guys LOL. I kept wanting to say Purel, and thinking no, that's hand sanitizer LOL!

Just came back last Saturday from a fantastic week at Pop and the World! Three requests were on reservation and I faxed the same three requests - got ALL THREE! YEAH! We requested refurbished room on the top floor with a lake view. We got a back CORNER room (nice) in building 6 - wonderful view and or so quiet... We were very pleased with proximity to Classic Hall. I did on-line check-in and we were "in" in record time - less than 5 minutes! We were not near a pool but we don't use the pool anyway. The refurbed room was amazing - met all our expectations and more!

We brought our own luggage with us on the Magical Express - no issues at all. Did airline check-in at the resort early morning then stored our carry-ons while were in the parks all day and came back to Pop to get them before going to airport for a late evening flight. Everything went perfectly! Line at airline check-in was VERY long (behind us) before 8 AM.

Buses were mostly great except from MK after late parade and after late Fantasmic at DS - long wait and buses did not come as frequently as we would have liked, but we expected that at park close. Otherwise buses were fine and we only had to stand 2 or 3 times! Took one of first buses every AM and got to rope drop well ahead of opening.

We had an awsome week at the World:cool1:

We used online check in didn't get to POP until almost midnight. Did not pay for preferred and requested a refurbished room in the 70's and got both requests. There was nobody in the regular line but the online check in counter was taking care of somebody, so they just referred me to the regular line and the CM gave me my folder and we were on our way in time to quick go grab our mugs in the food court before they closed at midnight.

Travel sizes are at Target. I used the All like someone else said. As with any liquids when packing, they go in a ziplock bag for travel. As does shampoo, hairspray, etc. Even when I pack water or juiceboxes.>?

I bought the All travel size at Target for .99 cents and it was enough for two loads. Very easy to just throw it in with the rest of my liquids.
