I do as well and then reconfirm with a fax. It worked for me the one time I did it.

I did not fax on this last trip = I had heard it just angers the front desk people.

I clearly stated with CRO - to put ON the Ressie two things

1) QUIET as top priority
2) Lake facing.

We got both requests - ended up in 70s lake facing. It was library quiet.
LOVED IT :thumbsup2

No fax.

so tell me more about the bar at the pool! we are planning on an afternoon there and wanted to know how "full service" it is. Can they make about everything there? Can I get a fancy-pants tropical drink if I want?

No fax.

On all ears it stated which hotels NOT to fax. Pop was one that was not on the list. I got exactly what I asked for, and more. LOL! I think it depends on how you state your fax too. I have actually heard calling makes them mad, but others state that works for them as well.

Is it possible to request a King room at Pop if you booked through a thrid party?

I understand it the king rooms are far away from everything, but it is our Honeymoon we are going on and 2 doubles will not do  .

Would I have to call our Travel agent to request a king or can I just call Pop and request? If I can call Pop when is the best time to make the request? We arrive Feb 5th

Thanks in advance

We will be at POP Jan 14-18.:) Our first 2 nights are in a standard room and the last 2 in a preferred room. I prefer it quiet when sleeping. I have read that the top floor is the quietest. Which buildings should I request to be close to the food court, buses, and quiet(or is all of these requests possible?):confused3

Our room was on the top floor of the Jukebox building in the 50's section. We were facing the bowling pin pool, but were down toward Hourglass Lake and it was very quiet.

If you booked through a travel agent you immediately should have the travel agent add your request for a king room ... which you definitely need :woohoo: rather than calling yourself. My experience has been that the travel agent can handle all of those requests. I have used an agent for the past 4 years and have always gotten my requests ... (going in January/February helps too!). You shouldn't have any problems in February.

Yes, you have to have your TA do it. If you didn't book it yourself through Disney, they won't allow stuff to be added to your reservation by you on most cases.

I have tried to add things and been told that I need to have my TA call. So I would definately recommend just going that route to start!

BTW...is anyone else here scheduled for the 1st week in Feb? We are SO excited. I have been doing nothing but reading this site and making plans since last week...I hope the obsession wears off soon hahaha.

WE ARE!!

Plan on having our 1st POP stay this Feb 3-8! The children are very excited after looking at the pictures of POP. So far we have stayed at POR (meh) , Ft. Wilderness Cabins (roomy) and 2 rooms at ASMu (loved). February is our usual month b/c of Mardi Gras vacation and birthdays coinciding, but this time no such luck, so the kids will just miss some school to be there for their birthdays (and mine).

The grandparents are joing us but only going to Epcot with us 1 day, Feb. 5th. They are staying in their motorhome at Ft. Wilderness.

I'll be sporting my LGMH so say "hi" if you see us :) :) :)

We're headed to POP next week for our first-ever WDW trip; I was thrilled to see this thread! :thumbsup2 After reading the entire first post, I absolutely :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: to see the author... HELLO MISS KIMBERLY!!!! Thank you for making planning for my WDW stay as easy as you made planning for my DCL cruise! :flower3: :goodvibes :cloud9:

Hi Mickey's#1fan !

We stayed in 70s lake facing. While we were not ontop of the food court, none of the buildings are really that far away. We loved 70s!

Read more on my tr link in my siggie.

I had read on another thread some disturbing info. I read about a rumor that pop might possibly be closed due to the economy and then another that it might be renamed.:scared1: I called my travel agent and she did some checking and found no info in that reguards.:)

The rumor that Pop is closing has been making it's way through cyber space for a few weeks now. The new name rumor for even longer. So far they are just rumors. I wouldn't worry about...yet.

Just a FYI - My sister called POP yesterday to ask about the mattresses (they hurt her back last time) and was told that they had all been replaced! This is very good news for us as we were going to have to bring an extra pad for her just in case if they had not finished replacing them.
5 more days!!

Dissers have reported seeing the new mattresses delivered and others have slept on them so that is not a rumor !! It's FACT!!Lots of Pop rumors are floating around but they are all just that RUMORS!! I have heard that they are converting the Legendary years into suites, they are retheming Pop ( Why I don't know I like the theming )and of course the closing it temporarily!! Just wait till any rumor becomes fact!! Last year the Dining plan rumors were mainly wrong except the 3rd choice !!Just wait and see !!

The replacements started back in August. We visited the resort while staying at the CBR. They were in the process of replacing them when we visited.
