Hi Tanya. Great update. Glad you got a stop at Beaches & Cream. Yummm!

Do you remember where you got the Mike Wazowski T-shirt? Adult DNeph just loves that little dude.

Our Mike W shirt came from Hollywood Studios. The store listed on the receipt was the "Prop Shop" which is kind of over by where you get let off of the Backlot Tour. It was pretty much an outdoor shop, as in you don't actually go in a door, but it is under a roof and has walls, it's just that one wall is not there. If that isn't confusing enough, they probably had them other places, too, that is just where we remembered we had seen it when it came time to go buy one!

I want to pack.
But the suitcases aren't empty (Danny likes to leave stuff in them after a trip ends instead of taking it out - so our various suitcases have a variety of various trip left-overs in them)
I want to get my big "gathering tub" up here so I can start throwing my purchases in it and other stuff that we won't need before we leave.
But it is full of "Disney stuff" and is in the basement and I still can't carry something that heavy.
I want to leave tomorrow
But my flight isn't until August 3rd.

So I will entertain myself here with a silly hat countdown!

We will start with a trip around the world with Ryne & Mark - starting in the home of Jen and Lessa

Danny had a good Father's Day. He had his annual golf outing that he helps organize. I have to go up and start registering the golfers at 6 then I go back and eat lunch with them and help sell drawing tickets. Then he came home and slept for 5 hours!

By the way, this set of hats around the world with Ryne and Mark were taken on our 2007 trip. This was our first trip without Sean. I also had a set of these on my cell phone - I sent him a hat pic of Ryne from each country. He had started his first year of college, and was sharing his pics with the class that he was in. He sent me back a picture of the classroom he was in at the time!

Our first stop???

We didn’t mess with fastpasses because the line wasn’t awful. But I was beat and didn’t really want to stand in the regular line. You can’t take a scooter through the line – but you can take a wheelchair. Soooo, before riding on the calm and relaxing Tower of Terror,

Too bad you aren't going to be there early enough that we could sandwich Jen between us for a calm and relaxing tour of the Hollywood Tower Hotel..... Poor little Jen would really feel

But that trip has been over for 7 months – and in a month and a half I will be back again for more fun and games!

You guys got so much done on your final day! I guess that is the advantage of flying! We go through all the packing and loading stress, then grab a final meal, then the driving, unloading and unpacking stress the rest of the day!!!

But hey, that next trip is getting closer for both of us!!!

So I will entertain myself here with a silly hat countdown!

Even when we drive we try to take advantage of the last day. We could drive down with only one night on the road, but then we get in so late we feel like we are wasting a "Disney night". So instead we have been spending our first night in Nashville, which is about an 8 hour drive. We stay near the old Opryland area and go out for supper and Danny usually takes the boys over to a miniature golf/go-cart place. The next night we used to try to just "get past Atlanta" and then we would stay somewhere in Georgia. We have now moved on in to Florida and have stayed in Gainesville once, last year and this year it will be Ocala. Thats another 9-10 hours. Then it's just a couple hours - including a stop for groceries and a final stash of Diet Pepsi - until we go check in. So the reverse is the same. We hang around as long as we can the last day, knowing that our hotel is only and hour and a half away.

But hey, that next trip is getting closer for both of us!!!

Our DIS travel buddies, DNiece & her DH, live in Chicago and are big Cubs fans. We root for the team on the other side of town... We actually lost a Superbowl bet to them this year, so now WE have to wear Cubs shirts to DIS Aug 20-24. It will kill my DH to wear a Cubs shirt, but we found some good ones online that aren't exactly what DNiece & her DH will expect. We always have a good time with the cross-town rivalry and make wacky bets that culminate at DIS every year.

We love Beaches and Cream! It's not a very large menu food-wise, but I haven't had anything there yet that I didn't like. Well, excpet for the whole grain bun (Yuck!) but I know now if I see that on the menu to ask to have it switched for a regular bun.

Good job on finding an alternate Cubbie shirt. The bet wasn't that the shirt had to actually "support" the Cubs was it??

I forgot when I upload pictures they go in backwards order. We actually started doing the hat pictures in Mexico and working our way around. I think by the time we got to France the boys had lost their enthusiasm.

If you had stuck with your June dates would you be there now or would it all be over already?

My original dates were to leave on June 4th and return home the 12th or 13th. I moved the dates to the end of June, so we would have been leaving this coming Friday if I hadn't had to change them.

Well, I don't want to speak for Kathy or Dan or any other Cubs fans out there - but in our family where being a Cubs fan is a genetic thing - you can become a little self-conscious about it.



But there could be something to your theory....This is my Dad (far right) and my mom (in her bleach blonde days) and some of their friends wearing Cubbie and Cardinal hats she made.
