Does anyone else hate that huge bow on the back of Brenda's gown? I mean, she's supposed to be some huge fashion model, but that gown to me is just ugly. And that bow in the back! Who knows, maybe it's just me showing a lack of fashion sense.

I was thinking the same thing. :confused3

I loved the dress....except for the bow! It would have been soooo much better without it!

Previews for the week of 28-Feb-2011
by Carol Banks Weber

**Dante kicks into detective mode while casing the remnants of the car bombing for signs.
Carly and Shawn are startled by the sudden, deadly appearance of an enraged, obsessed Sonny in the guesthouse.
Sonny goes after Shawn at the guesthouse. He doesn’t care if Carly, Michael or Morgan are there to watch (and they are) as he commences the brutal torture of one of the Balkan’s men.
Sonny flexes his mobster muscles with Shawn, to get to the bottom of the Balkan’s abduction of Brenda.
Sonny doesn’t care about Shawn’s welfare. Shawn is a means to an end; whatever it takes to beat it out of the hired hitman. Get out the nipple clips!
Carly and Michael do everything in their power to cease and desist Sonny from inflicting pain on Shawn. It’s like talking to a brick wall here.
Dante, however, arrives on the scene and is able to get through to Sonny enough to stand down – by using the reasoning that a good father wouldn’t traumatize his children this way.
Michael pledges himself to the task of retrieving Brenda, right alongside his dad, Sonny—whatever the methods.
Dante conversely stands behind the law in lending a hand to Sonny to retrieve Brenda.
Dante’s integrity and character win points with Lulu.
Sonny implores Lulu to use her tremendous influence on Dante to not further involve himself in the Brenda affair.
Shawn narrowly evades the long arm of the Balkan while inside General Hospital.
Molly can identify the Balkan goon who tried to execute Shawn at GH.
The Balkan has managed to capture Brenda, if but for a moment.
Dante works on Sonny to ease up on the hardline stance when chasing Brenda down.
Jason and Dante both caution Michael against imitating Sonny in any manner, stay straight.
Michael has stars in his eyes when he beholds his mobster father, Sonny, flexing those ruthless, powerful muscles. And yet…
When Michael speaks with Abby in private, he does so wavering between Sonny’s ruthless life and a life all his own having nothing to do with the mob.
Franco rings Jason up again, bragging about the limo explosion, the Balkan, and lots more fun in store. He takes full credit for the Balkan.
Brenda comes to, facing her worst nightmare, a face to the Balkan.
Theo/The Balkan puts Brenda through the wringer about the baby she was carrying, not the murder of the baby’s (possible) father. Brenda doesn’t understand this line of questioning at all.
As Brenda goes over what transpired with her and suffering a miscarriage, as Suzanne handled the aftermath, Theo concludes his wife hasn’t been straight with him and that his grandson may still be out there somewhere, waiting to be claimed.
Brenda feels a rise of hope when she begins to comprehend that she never miscarried after all.
Suzanne tries and tries to get an answer out of Theo about where Brenda is, but Theo doesn’t say.
Theo takes matters into his own hands, regarding his faithless wife.
Brenda takes her chance and makes a break for it, which leads her straight into the scary forest, like Little Red Riding Hood but in white and pink couture.
Michael tries to be a hero by handling the goon who tried to jump Shawn at GH. But Michael winds up staring down the barrel of a gun—when Super-Dante swoops in.
Jason and Lucky have the Balkan in their sights, and are closing in.
Shawn stops Jason, persisting in being the one to deal summarily with Theo.
Dante can’t seem to get no satisfaction from Jax in standing down Sonny.
As authorities process the Balkan, Dante uses a creative method to give Sonny what he wants.
Jason becomes aware that the blast messed with Sam’s ability to hear.
Kristina can tell that Sam’s condition has veered into panic territory.
(Sam’s hearing problem will not last past 48 hours.)
Kristina relives her own car bombing, as Ethan patiently lets her.
Kristina vocally articulates her belief that she and Ethan are inevitable.
Sonny and Luke find common ground as dads to sons who’ve chosen a career in law enforcement. Like that’s a bad thing.
Luke tends to Edward, winning Tracy over.
Luke and Tracy make peace, for a little while.
Patrick and Robin gravitate back toward one another—in their element as doctors in love at GH.
Terrell jumps at the chance to draw Robin in, with some AIDS-related project that would appeal to her.
Patrick and Robin combine resources and forces to fight the power that is Lisa.
Elizabeth mulls over the likelihood that Aiden belongs to her and Lucky after all.
Gun-shy, Nikolas nevertheless summons up the guts to be honest with Brook Lynn about liking her a lot.
Nikolas can’t bring himself to act on his feelings for Brook Lynn. He leaves her high and dry, and hanging.
Nikolas discloses to Lucky that, because of Elizabeth, he’s afraid he can never get close to any other woman.
Elizabeth and Brook Lynn get catty and throw down.

Next week: Sonny and Dante join forces to apply information from a Balkan assassin and net themselves Brenda’s return… Luke lends a hand to Carly, so she can have Jax over a barrel… Jason makes sure Sam is doing alright in the hospital. Kissing her helps… Jason assigns Spinelli the next task—locate Brenda fast… Spinelli’s resourceful research narrows the field in terms of Brenda’s latest whereabouts… Theo puts a fatal neuro-toxin into Brenda… Lucky ruminates on having wedded Siobhan for the green card—with Luke… Nikolas gets over being gunshy and gets jiggy with Brook Lynn.

Gossip for the week of 28-Feb-2011
by Carol Banks Weber

Someone by the online moniker, theinsider, posted on February 21st some huge assertions on Soaps.SheKnows.com’s message board about GH re-hiring Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth), executive producer Jill Farren Phelps’ last numbered days, cast changes—not all of them firings, and behind-the-scenes storylines in progress.

Theinsider claimed that ABC Daytime president Brian Frons is the one who is displeased about Herbst’s save, not head writer Bob Guza Jr., who is just annoyed because he will now have to revise ongoing story for her. Even if Guza wanted to, he wouldn’t get away with character assassination, because higher-ups won’t let him.

Theinsider also claimed that the current executive producer Jill Farren Phelps may be out of a job soon, with former executive producer Wendy Riche possibly back in. With Guza still around? Probably not. “This has been rumored on at least three sites, and the decision seems based on the need to break up the trifecta of Frons, Phelps and Guza.”

Cast changes mean firings, smaller salaries for those remaining, and/or voluntary departures. GH’s biggest stars (Steve Burton/Jason, Maurice Benard/Sonny, Tony Geary/Luke, Laura Wright/Carly) may have to accept a cut in salary to help with the smaller budget. Geary might just finally retire altogether. Same with John Ingle (Edward). Others may follow if they balk at the paycut. The remaining actors may opt to leave of their own for different reasons, c/o theinsider: “Jonathan Jackson (tired of the ‘negative’ energy), Kimberly McCullough (wants to direct), … Benard (wants to focus on fatherhood), Julie Marie Berman (wants to phase into films)... So, the show may not have to ‘fire’ anyone, if all these people voluntarily leave...”

The thing about Sam and a miracle baby (Guza is supposedly anti-JaSam wunderkind) might have less to do with Elizabeth tampering with test results, and everything to do with Franco stepping in and futzing to make Sam believe there’s a baby on the way when there’s really a malignant uterine tumor. “Sam's health deteriorates then they realize,” speculated theinsider, “just before she's about to kick the bucket, that she isn't really pregnant.”

Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) may or may not have told some fans at a fan event or on Twitter, or somewhere last week that Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) got a stay of execution because of restructuring, not necessarily the strength of fan backlash alone. Once TPTB restructured its budgetary allowances, they realized they could keep Herbst on and not suffer unduly for it.

Christopher also purportedly went on Twitter to admonish fans who were trying to attribute storyline confirmations in his and co-star Kelly Monaco’s (Sam) names. The two stars were last week out on public appearance rounds. In an East Coast event, Monaco was pleased to see her former PC co-star Brian Gaskill (ex-Rafe) pop up and answer some fan questions. Both Monaco and Christopher were overheard admitting that TPTB may have written their characters into a corner by making them related (they were originally supposed to be brother and sister), when these two have a lot of sexual chemistry.

Can someone explain something to me? One day they were talking about Brenda having a miscarriage. I think Brenda was pregnant, got sick, was unconscious or something, and when she woke up was told by Suzanne that she'd had a miscarriage. But now they're talking about the grandchild being alive somewhere. I thought a miscarriage was possible during the first several months of pregnancy, but if the baby was viable (I think it's about 27 weeks or so), it's not called a miscarriage-it's the baby being born, even if it then dies. If it's possible that the baby survived to grow up, why are they still talking about the birth as a miscarriage, not a birth. Am I missing something? Did she NOT have a miscarriage, but continued the pregnancy to term?
Boy, was this thread buried!

It seems there has been a major re write with many, many discrepencies... glitches in storyline follow-thru. :confused3

Has anyone else noticed scenes with Balkan ( Mr. Clean ;) ), Suzanne, Brenda and Jules are very choppy and sometime oddly put together?

Also.. where the heck has Spinelli been? He popped up with his novel today at Sam's bedside.. he has been gone for what seems to be a long time, when you think his cyber skills would be very valuable.. hmm...
:scratchin

and l am probably going against the grain with this one....

I actually have enjoyed the Jason/Sam scenes lately. They seem very sweet and tender together right now. b

Oh.. and did anybody else want to B*-slap Sonny today (Wed) when he was talking about how the whole Balkan thing was all about "coming after him". Cause you Know EVERYTHING is ALWAYS ABOUT SELF ABSORBED SONNY CORINTHOS!!!! :headache: what a jerk! :rotfl:

ah so life goes on in Port Chuck! :)

I wondered about Spinelli also. Jason mentioned him yesterday so I know he still exists! I just read this morning that the actor's wife is expecting. It lead me to wonder about a medical issue on the homefront. I do hope all is all right.

I agree, did Sonny forget why Balkan came to town to begin with? He's always been after Brenda because of his son. That's why he was chasing her in Europe.

There seem to be several things that don't make sense anymore. My biggest issue right now is with Suzanne being his wife. She had access to Brenda all along that would have made all this cat and mouse stuff unneccessary. Not to mention she's the one that called Jason in to help protect Brenda.

They need to pick a course and stick with it.

Thanks Pixester for the promo link... Carly saying omg is she the one that hits him? Why do they have to go there?? REWRITE the story.....:sad1:

If you go back to that same link I posted and scroll to the bottom you can click on Page 2 of the spoilers. That tells you a little bit about what is up with Carly saying OMG.

I'm just not going to watch that. Guess I should give up GH for Lent...I hear Y&R is good these days, maybe I'll pick that up...or if Roger Howarth goes to OLTL, I'm totally in.

It's a shame because everything else I don't mind, but this is a dealbreaker for me. I'm sure it will be well-acted and very emotional, but I don't want to see it.

I quit watching AMC years ago when they had Erica kidnap Maria's baby and pass her off as a Russian adoptee.

I quit watching OLTL when they broke up John and Natalie (the 2nd time). I guess you could say I just get irritated and go somewhere else, I'm fickle!

I'm a big Liz and Jason fan and it ticks me off that they are messing with the link between them.

I'm a big Nat and John fan too.

Yep, but what's another Quatermaine? :headache: Very annoyed. I do think I'm going to switch to OLTL for the next few weeks. I'll come back if I don't get really into it...I'll be happy to watch afterwards (ok, not happy, but ok), but I do not want to watch another BJ/Maxie. :sad2: :sad1:

Maybe I'll get to see Nat and John -- I haven't watched in so long I totally missed the birth, etc.
