The Flat Adventures of Weird and Ninja

And after that I realized I just made a rhyme. Not particularly clever; certainly not Poe-esque. Oh well. There's a reason I don't do poetry! :rotfl:

Haha, I'd definitely prefer your poetry over Poe-esque poetry. Yours is just a tad bit lighter and whimsical, hehe. Your mention of Poe reminded me of when I taught Poe's short stories to my 8th graders last year. They were taken aback by the cover of the book, which was a cartoon-ish drawing of "The Pit and the Pendulum." Kind of gave me a MINOR reason why I'm looking forward to going back to work so thanks! That along with having the 7th graders read "The Monkey's Paw" makes my job fun, muuuahhahha.

The Belle PM figure is very cute! I always liked that she was a reader, too ...

In Bonjour, one of my favorite lines is, "And she won't discover that it's him til chapter 3!" Haha, it just always made me happy! Along with ... "Marie! The baguettes! Hurry up!"

And all I have to say regarding the wedding PM figure is wink wink nudge nudge giggle giggle! :thumbsup2

Random story but two days ago I had to go to the bank to open up a CD. My mom was with me and we were sitting and waiting for one of the financial reps to be available. I'm really not knowledgeable about finances and such. For example, I know what a CD is and its purpose, but I can't really determine which is a better deal when it comes to comparing rates (thankfully my dad does that for me!).

Anyway, I was asking my mom hypothetical questions about the CD (you know, like if I didn't put my mom's name down on the CD, who would get the money if I were to die ... pleasantly morbid questions like that). Then I asked, "What happens if I need to make a large purchase and I need the money?" I mean, I'm aware that the point of a CD is to leave it in there, but I was curious to know what would happen in terms of rates and such if I took it out before the certain amount of time.

My mom replies, "For what, an engagement ring?" Haha, I started laughing and was like, "We've only been dating for two months, where is your mind?!?" I mean, I guess it's different considering we did date for a while beforehand and we've been best friends for even longer than that. It's just funny that my mom said it because she's usually the one reminding me not to jump the gun!

Anyway, I said, "Besides, it's not like I buy the ring!" and she replied, "Yeah, but you said large purchase, and it's not like you're going to buy a house or a car anytime soon" and I said, "Yeah, but I was thinking a vacation to Disney World!" Oh mother, you're so silly sometimes~

This would obviously be crazy expensive, but it was so pretty! Not that I would necessarily understand the point in purchasing it because it would mean having something that would only stay in a safe place for display. Hmm ... maybe a real one then ... hehe.
WoD056.jpg

Being the architect that he is, this is a poster just for Weird!
WoD058.jpg

We saw this and automatically thought of SorcererDonald!
WoD059.jpg

Here's the poster I ended up getting ... $25 for it, but it's a good investment for some morning happiness! Of course, it's still in the tube and I didn't put it up yet ... haha, I'll do it before the school year starts. That way, I'll have something Disney to see in the morning when I wake up!
WoD062.jpg

This is the poster Weird bought. I liked it a lot too ... until I saw the one in the upper right corner! It's of County Bear Jamboree and right in the center ... buffalo/bison head! Ahhh! This poster's up in Weird's room now and when I go over, it's always watching me ...
WoD064.jpg

Hehe, maybe we should have gotten this one ... the Disney kiss! So cute!
WoD063.jpg

While I was busy looking at the posters trying to find the one I wanted (after seeing that MeMom on the TR boards had bought it and someone else said that it could be found in WoD in NYC), Weird took a picture of this!
WoD057.jpg

What's also great about the 3rd floor is "The Friendship Room"! They have character meet-and-greets. When a CM came out to announce that it would be opened soon, Weird and I were standing around that area so we were only 3rd in line. While we were waiting for the first family to finish, a father behind us asked good-naturedly, "Aren't you guys a little too old to be here? I have an excuse (pointing to his really young kids)" and I replied, "You're never too old for Disney magic!"

I was actually a little nervous about meeting them because I have that fear of people in costumes (had a TERRIFYING Easter bunny experience as a kid ... my cousin and I have been scared ever since!) ... but then again, it's not really a person in a costume, right? It's really Pluto and Goofy!

Here are the four of us with Pluto! The Photopass person and the handler thought it was cute when I asked them to take another picture with Weird's camera with the flats.
WoD022.jpg

Then we moved farther in the room to meet Goofy! Goofy was cute because he took the real Weird's hand and started shaking it. Then he blew a kiss to me. He started kind of walking away when the handler was like, "Goofy, you're still holding his hand" and Goofy looked down and seemed very shocked that they were still shaking hands! That was cute.
WoD024.jpg

Anyway, we got the same reaction from the Goofy photographers when I asked about taking another one with little Weird and Ninja. However, we were wondering if anyone would actually know who Weird and Ninja were. Haha, well not specifically Weird and Ninja but as VMK avatars! We were curious if anyone would know Virtual Magic Kingdom!

On the next half hour mark, we heard the announcement that Cinderella would be out! This time we waited a little longer before jumping on the line because the doors weren't open just yet. But then we decided to stand in line because more people started arriving on the 3rd floor (the CM had announced it over the balcony so that the 2nd floor could hear).

These were also hanging in the Friendship Room.
WoD069.jpg

I think these would look good in any house, don't you think? Weird and I were wondering if we could somehow take them home with us ...
WoD067.jpg

Finally the doors were opened and we waited for our turn with Cinderella! I had read on DIS many times that the princesses sometimes ask, "Is he your prince?" so I had told Weird that she might ask that since we were going up to her together. When we went up to see her, she asked us where we were from. We responded and she was like, "Oh, so not very far from here." Haha, for some reason I thought that was funny.

Then she asked the prince question! Haha, it's funny because even though I had anticipated it, I guess I still wasn't prepared for it! I thought it was cute that she asked, especially the way she asked it. You know, they really have to believe in the whole prince notion to ask it the right way! Of course, I replied that he was!

Haha, don't you love how she's linked to Weird's arm and it seems like I'm just standing there?
WoD068.jpg

But it's okay. Because I'm the one who leaves with that prince of mine ... :lovestruc To be continued! Haha, trust me, we've got a ton more pictures!

I do agree that the Belle PM figure being cute. I think when B&B came out on DVD, I wasn't very into getting the DVDs just yet so I know what you feel because I don't have it either! 2010, is it? Guess I know who else will be pre-ordering it! ;)

Yup. I still don't know how I missed it. I mean, it's the only animated film ever nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture! (Since it came out before the Best Animated Film category existed.) I just don't understand myself at that age when I could've purchased it and didn't. :sad2:

I actually like Poe, particularly from a "technical" standpoint! He was a master at using assonance, alliteration, and what I'd call "complex rhyme"--where it's not just single-syllable rhyming words, which is all I can really do without spending a lot of time on it. And with fall and therefore Halloween coming up, I think I should dig out my Collected Works of his. But it's probably in a box at my parents' house. I need more space for books in my apartment.

Yes, mothers--and parents in general--can be quite silly! My brother's 30th birthday is coming up, and he's still unmarried, also not currently dating anyone. So when we were all together a week ago and I was reflecting on having a 30-y-o sibling, my dad said, "You know, you can start having kids anytime. We're ready to be grandparents." And I'm like, "Well, wouldn't you want us to be married to someone first?" Sheesh!

I liked it a lot too ... until I saw the one in the upper right corner! It's of County Bear Jamboree and right in the center ... buffalo/bison head! Ahhh! This poster's up in Weird's room now and when I go over, it's always watching me ...

::shudder shudder cringe::

Cinderella was just envious. ;) After all, Prince Charming was nowhere to be found, so she didn't have his arm to hold on to. Other princesses--such as Belle--are more independent and capable of functioning on their own. :snooty:

 for more pictures!

World of Disney looks like lots of fun!
I have never been to the NYC version, but it looks like there is stuff to see everywhere.

I love Belle too, because she is always reading.

Nice posters!

Good for you, meeting Pluto and Goofy. You look a lot happier meeting Pluto, than in the photo of you as a little kid meeting Pluto.

The real Weird and I have also been trying to spend as much time together as possible since work and school start for both of us next week. Though we didn't make it to the American Museum of Natural History (umm, I kind of got too scared!), we did finally see Wall-E (haha, like a month after it came out) and this past Saturday we also saw Spamalot!

It was the buffalo, wasn't it? ;) I think there's some in the DC museums, too. Be aware!

I've been wanting to see Spamalot. Did you like it?

I love that shirt!

Gotta love NYC though because of Broadway! Lion King is absolutely AMAZING. It's probably my all-time favorite Broadway show (that and Wicked). My mom, on the other hand, loves Beauty and the Beast because she thinks the storyline is better (or because we just HAD to see it a second time just because Donny Osmond was playing Gaston, haha). I think Weird would love both. That's another thing on our to do list, Disney on Broadway!

Lion King is one of my favorites also and we're seeing Wicked for the first time later this month. I'm so excited! I think Aida is my favorite. Have you seen that one? I'm dying to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway.

This is my favorite Disney princess PM figurine ... Belle! Because she's reading and all! I guess you'd expect that from a former English major and current ELA teacher. What would my kids say if I chose otherwise?!? Haha, just kidding. I always loved that Belle was a reader ... even though the town thought she was so peculiar ...
WoD048.jpg

I love the Belle PM figure. I don't like PM in general except for the Disney ones. For some reason they're so much cuter than the normal ones.

I'm not going to jump the gun and say anything more ... hehe. Let's just say Weird and Ninja liked taking this picture.
WoD051.jpg

I love how you made them hold hands!! :goodvibes

You look appropriately scared in that picture!

Being the architect that he is, this is a poster just for Weird!
WoD058.jpg

We have posters of lighthouses framed in our dining room that Weird would love! They are almost exactly like that, but more of a pencil sketch of the architecture of them.

It's of County Bear Jamboree and right in the center ... buffalo/bison head! Ahhh! This poster's up in Weird's room now and when I go over, it's always watching me ...
WoD064.jpg

You just can't get away from those Buffalo can you!? That made me laugh!

These were also hanging in the Friendship Room.
WoD069.jpg

I think these would look good in any house, don't you think? Weird and I were wondering if we could somehow take them home with us ...
WoD067.jpg

I really like those!

It's not just the princesses. Prince Caspian asked me the same question! I do love the way they ask.

But it's okay. Because I'm the one who leaves with that prince of mine ... :lovestruc To be continued! Haha, trust me, we've got a ton more pictures!

I can't wait to read more!

That store looks amazing!! I wish we had one even close to that around here. If u can't get to a disney park that looks like a pretty good alternative. I haven't seen a disney store like that outside the parks ever. You are lucky to be able to go there. I am sure it is probably helping with the magic thing since vmk is gone. So much fun, and good luck the two of you, u seem like such a cute couple!!! :)

I actually like Poe, particularly from a "technical" standpoint!

I need more space for books in my apartment.

Hehe, your Poe commentary reminded me why I only teach junior high students. I don't appreciate literary techniques the way you do. I just know I have to teach it. When I teach all those things to my students (when they're only concerned about the plot), I always remind them that even if you don't notice it when reading it, you would notice it if an author didn't use them because it would be dry writing. Like, having them search for similes and metaphors sometimes seems pointless to them, but once I explain that, they do appreciate it more. Haha, I guess I still have JHS mentality too.

I definitely need more bookshelf space! Right now I have one tall one and then a short one. Then since I went to seminary for a year, I have a ton more underneath a coffee table! That's the main thing I want in my house ... a library! That's why Beast's gift to Belle was the most romantic, haha.

So when we were all together a week ago and I was reflecting on having a 30-y-o sibling, my dad said, "You know, you can start having kids anytime. We're ready to be grandparents." And I'm like, "Well, wouldn't you want us to be married to someone first?" Sheesh!

Haha, that's so funny! My mom thinks more ahead. My dad, on the other hand, has only begun to accept the fact that Weird's my guy. When we dated the first time around, my dad would just have this odd smirk on his face when Weird was mentioned. My dad's the kind of person who wants me to remain single for a long time because he's very protective.

Cinderella was just envious. ;) After all, Prince Charming was nowhere to be found, so she didn't have his arm to hold on to. Other princesses--such as Belle--are more independent and capable of functioning on their own. :snooty:

In the TRs that I've read, I've noticed that Belle is in the blue town dress at Cinderella's Royal Table whereas all the other princesses are in their ballgowns. Belle is definitely so much more secure since she can do that. She knows it's her intelligence that's attractive! Plus, she's the one who can see past appearances as she begins to like the Beast! Haha, wow, I don't know that I've ever thought about the differences between Belle and the other princesses!

World of Disney looks like lots of fun!
I have never been to the NYC version, but it looks like there is stuff to see everywhere.

I love Belle too, because she is always reading.

Good for you, meeting Pluto and Goofy. You look a lot happier meeting Pluto, than in the photo of you as a little kid meeting Pluto.

Unfortunately Weird told me that the WoD store in NYC is closing. They're moving locations and it's going to be smaller or something? I forgot the whole story, but I remember reading something about it somewhere else on the boards.

Exactly! Too bad everyone in the town thinks that it's an odd hobby!

Haha, I didn't even realize that! I forgot that I had that Pluto picture from when I was a kid!

It was the buffalo, wasn't it? ;) I think there's some in the DC museums, too. Be aware!

Haha, that's it exactly! Of course, they have one of the largest displays in that exhibit! Even if I'm in the planetarium, I think I'd be able to feel their presence! Thanks for the warning! I'll have to be extremely cautious! I think it was a museum in DC where there's a stuffed buffalo right next to an elevator ... like it wasn't behind glass or anything, it was just there. I'll have to ask my mom about that to see if she remembers. I'd have to take the stairs ...

I've been wanting to see Spamalot. Did you like it?

Lion King is one of my favorites also and we're seeing Wicked for the first time later this month. I'm so excited! I think Aida is my favorite. Have you seen that one? I'm dying to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway.

Yep! I did like Spamalot. We didn't have great seats since we were in the balcony ($42). Only during intermission did we move since I was 3 rows behind a pole. Yep, a pole.

We had Stephen Collins (the 7th Heaven guy) as King Arthur. Then Drew Lachey (the 98 degrees guy) was Patsy. I may be a little biased in terms of judging the women who played the Lady of the Lake because I had seen Sara Ramirez (the Grey's Anatomy girl) sing that part during the Tony Awards and was blown away.

The jokes from Spamalot were funny. I thought of it as more guy humor (haha, and at times, the men in the audience were laughing so hard!). I don't know if I would have understood it all or caught more of the jokes if I hadn't seen the Monty Python movie years ago. But some of the cruder jokes just flew over my head. There was one part (that I can't write about here!) that caused the audience to laugh for a LONG time, and I sat there kind of dumbfounded. I had heard the words for what they were supposed to be, not the dirty version. Haha, later on I had to ask Weird why everyone was laughing ...

Overall though, I would recommend it because it is really funny. I'm sure a TON of references just flew over my head because the older man next to me laughed at different things. I'm sure if I were to see or hear it again years from now, I'd probably understand different things!

But Wicked is AMAZING. I was lucky to see it with Idina Menzel as Elphaba! My aunt always got good tickets for us too so we always get good orchestra seats. I was initially a little scared of going because I'm terrified of the Wizard of Oz (hehe, I'm scared of a lot of things, aren't I ...). Let me know what you think of it after you see it!

And no, I haven't seen Aida. The majority of the shows I've seen weren't necessarily my choice. I saw "Kiss Me Kate" and "The Scarlet Pimpernel" in high school (you know, because they're related to academics~ haha). Then the rest I've seen (the Disney ones, etc.) with my aunt who got tickets at work, which is why I got spoiled with good seats. The one show I always wanted to see was Grease. I was such a Grease junkie!

I love the Belle PM figure. I don't like PM in general except for the Disney ones. For some reason they're so much cuter than the normal ones.

I love how you made them hold hands!! :goodvibes

I totally agree! I grew up with PM things all the time ... had tons of coloring books, got the dolls + snow globes + figurines as gifts. I thought they were cute and all but it got old ... but once I saw those Disney ones? Ahhh! Love for PM once again!

Hehe, sometimes flat Weird and Ninja would be holding hands in picture before real Weird and I started dating ... flirting via the flats ;)

You just can't get away from those Buffalo can you!? That made me laugh!

I think they know ... they're starting to gang up on me ...

It's not just the princesses. Prince Caspian asked me the same question! I do love the way they ask.

Definitely makes me interested in visiting characters the next time I'm at WDW!

Yep! That was our thought exactly. As close to WDW as we can get for now. Even the Disney store is fun! As well as craft stores ... and Target ... haha, Disney is everywhere if you know where to look. And thanks :) we hope to stay together for quite a longgg time :thumbsup2

Weird and I were still looking at the things on the 3rd floor of the store. It's fun to see all the things we can't really afford on our meager salaries.

Some of the dwarves on Splash Mountain! Splash Mountain is one of my top 5 favorite rides ever (you know, with the TTA being my first). Haha, the last time I went on it, I totally forgot about that double drop in the dark!
WoD071.jpg

I really liked this one. It's the transformed Beast holding Belle up in the air!
WoD073.jpg

Weird and Ninja had a mini-WDW trip in preparation for the real one. Here they are in front of the partners statue.
WoD075.jpg

Weird and Ninja both love the sorcerer Mickey hat. I had gotten it as a gift for Weird before it became so common in VMK (aww, that makes me sad ... I miss checking out the trade boards and then surprising Weird with new costumes!). Little Ninja used to always wear that hat along with jeans and a blue tank top. You know, before she got her princess Minnie hat.
WoD076.jpg

There were lots and lots more pictures on the walls, and we did take a lot of individual ones, but if I posted them all, it would take forever. So here's just a glimpse of one of the walls.
WoD077.jpg

Ninja really liked this pink princess hat!
WoD085.jpg

Not quite at DHS but Weird and Ninja watched Fantasmic!
WoD087.jpg

Then they hopped over to MK to ride the tea cups and visit with Alice and the Mad Hatter.
WoD088.jpg

They also met Wall-E!
WoD096.jpg

Hehe, so did I ... had to post this one because I <3 Wall-E!
WoD097.jpg

Continued in a bit, food needs to be consumed ...

Maybe Weird and Ninja should have done a bit more planning because then they had to head back over to DHS for Star Wars Weekends! It was a little scary to meet Darth Vader!
WoD101.jpg

Because I have that annoying condition where the blood pools in my legs, real Weird had me sit down for a bit because I had been on my feet too long. Good thing because I didn't realize my heart was going pretty quickly at that point trying to pump the blood back up. So we sat in a corner of the 2nd floor. I was holding Weird's hand ... my heart was going pretty quickly then too, but in the good way ;)
WoD102.jpg

Weird thought about when he would finally see The Lion King.
WoD103.jpg

They also checked out some of the merchandise, looking to see if they could get some writing utensils to make going back to work and school easier.
WoD105.jpg

Ahhh! Memories of VMK! Stitch magic!
WoD108.jpg

Gotta hop on a monorail to head to Animal Kingdom! They asked the CM if they could sit in front ... unfortunately, it was already taken so they didn't have that experience just yet.
WoD110.jpg

Riding the Dinosaur ride! Ahh! That T-rex was frightening!
WoD109.jpg

Back to MK (haha, I intended on putting the pictures in order according to the parks, but considering I don't really have the time or patience, Weird and Ninja just have to do a lot of park hopping ... which is funny because I never park hop in real life!) ... they visited the Main Street Firehouse.
WoD112.jpg

Despite the bad reviews, Weird wanted to try Stitch's Great Escape to see what it was all about. Ugh, that belch smell was gross! Or at least that's what everyone else said ... they're covered in plastic so they were safe.
WoD114.jpg

Then went to ride Test Track at Epcot. They rode the first time together and then thereafter, took advantage of the single rider line. They were able to ride it 6x before Ninja was tired of having to fix her hair each time they went on the outside track.
WoD113.jpg

They admired all the little details of the store. This column was reminiscent of Splash Mountain and other places in Frontierland.
WoD116.jpg

Gotta love the atmosphere!
WoD117.jpg

And ... gotta love the fact that I've gotta run out for a bit so that's it for now!

Weird and I were still looking at the things on the 3rd floor of the store. It's fun to see all the things we can't really afford on our meager salaries.

You think "fun," I think "soul-killing and depressing." ;) Seriously, window-shopping when I have no fundage to spend depresses me. Even if I don't wind up getting anything and don't have anything in mind I really want to get, I like the cushion of knowing I could if I wanted.

Then if I don't get anything, I feel good about saving money. :goodvibes

I really liked this one. It's the transformed Beast holding Belle up in the air!

I like that one, too! :thumbsup2

Yes, it's hard being a girl.

Though since I have curly hair, any "fixing" needs to involve water and hairspray to keep my hair from frizzing again, so when at places like Disney I usually just stick it in a ponytail and avoid looking at mirrors.

And ... gotta love the fact that I've gotta run out for a bit so that's it for now!

"Love the fact"? You're too modest. I'm looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

Weird and I have this thing about taking pictures of things that we would like to buy but don't actually buy. Then sometimes it's almost as good as having it. That's why we took a TON of pictures at World of Disney! Haha. We knew we didn't want to spend that much, but we wanted all the memories of the things that made us happy!

Ahh, fellow office supply geeks! :goodvibes

Haha, that we are ... we spent some time at Staples the other night because I wanted to pick up the thin plastic binders for 25 cents each. We were also on a search for a pencil box for my brother. We ended up having so much fun there too looking at everything!

Though since I have curly hair, any "fixing" needs to involve water and hairspray to keep my hair from frizzing again, so when at places like Disney I usually just stick it in a ponytail and avoid looking at mirrors.

I had to redo my ponytail every single time on Test Track. In the beginning, I was making sure that it was pulled back correctly. By the third ride or so, all I cared about was getting the hair off my back and away from my face! It'd probably be a bit more annoying now because I have shorter hair in comparison to the length during my WDW trip. I cut off 10 inches for Locks of Love again so that's why in the pictures, it's always up.

"Love the fact"? You're too modest. I'm looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

Haha, thanks! I love having readers! And I'm so behind in your TR! I always want to devote time to reading yours since you write so well, and I haven't had time to catch up. I will :)

(Just as an FYI, I moved things around in our shared photobucket account to organize it so that's why a lot of the links were broken. I think I fixed all the pictures on the thread - minus the quoted parts since I can't fix those, of course - but if there's anything missing, just let me know!)

Like I said earlier, the 2nd floor was kid-friendly. Lots of toys! Weird and I are linked together.
WoD122.jpg

Arrrr, shiver me timbers!
WoD123.jpg

I thought this Kanga and Roo plushie was so cute! I don't see them often.
WoD125.jpg

I ended up not doing the Mr. Potato Head box, but Weird and I had fun putting one together virtually! Haha, we didn't like any of the nose options.

Visiting some furry friends!

I think this is one of the best flats pictures of the day just because of the story behind it.
WoD137.jpg

I saw these Mickeys like this and I wanted a picture with the flats because they were set up in the same way that they're set up at the park (squished onto the shelves). I was having a little bit of difficulty trying to get them to stay up. I was determined to get them to stay even though there were 2 people near us watching.

After a bit, the guy asked if I wanted tape because he had tape, but at that point they decided to stay up! So Weird took the picture and then the guy and girl commented that it was cute. I explained, "Oh, they're from Virtual Magic Kingdom" and the guy said, "Didn't that close?" The girl then said, "Yeah, my aunt played VMK and she printed out her characters too and does the same thing." Ahhh! It was exciting to us that there was actually someone in the outside world that knew of VMK!

I knew that they used to sell the POTC codes at the NYC WoD so I thought that it would be a bit more known, but the reaction from the CM photographers said otherwise. However, when these two people knew what it was (they were working there), Weird and I were like, cool! Haha, of course, I didn't ask if the girl knew what her aunt's character's name was!

Anyway, we moved on to the 1st floor. Lots of girly things in the back! Jewelry and costumes and all that! Part of the little girl in me really liked the plastic Mickey rings. A picture would do!
WoD140.jpg

They had all the charms to look at too!
WoD142.jpg

Plus lots and lots of beads to make your own necklace.
WoD145.jpg

This is what we did with the beads ... pictures! Sorcerer Mickey hat and the Princess Minnie hat! I was looking to buy a few of the beads (there were a TON of different kinds!). They had flat ones and um, not-flat ones and I couldn't decide which ones to get. But I ended up not getting anything. Better for my wallet!
WoD149.jpg

At that time, I noticed that it was really easy walking around the store ... haha, I don't know why it took me so long to realize it. I asked one of the CMs what time the place closed and she was like, "We're already closed, we close at 6!" Haha. We were still inside so that was fun!

Too many pictures, continued in next post!

We didn't look at the second half of the 1st floor yet so we kind of went through it quickly. I always like the keychains, not that I actually use them for keys! The Mickey one I bought from WDW in February is actually on a zipper on one of my bags. I really liked this keychain because of the design (I wanted it on a bag or a cap). Too bad it was the squishy rubber kind.
WoD168.jpg

The reason Weird took this picture was also to capture the two people standing behind me. They were the ones who offered tape and knew about VMK when we took the flats picture with the Mickey plushies.

I can definitely go for some Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin right now!
WoD170.jpg

Ahhhh, remember the little white and orange ghosties on VMK?!? Miss it ... :(
WoD173.jpg

Lots of pretty flatware!
WoD174.jpg

WoD175.jpg

And then a cute Mickey ice cream scoop. I'm frowning because both Weird and I are lactose intolerant and can't actually eat ice cream. I used to be able to eat a little at a time, but I'm uber sensitive now so I only risk it when I know I can handle the discomfort.
WoD177.jpg

Lots of lots of pins to look at! I wasn't sure if I want to get into the pin trading thing. It would be another expense for me! I was looking into it before my last WDW trip, but I decided against it because I don't think I could enjoy them throughout the year.
WoD194.jpg

It was cute how they had all the NYC specific pins.
WoD185.jpg

WoD190.jpg

Ninja really enjoyed the pins too! This real IASW pin reminded her of the one that Weird got for her in VMK from trading!
WoD193.jpg

Before paying for our posters and heading out for dinner, Ninja wanted to check out more thing ... Disney Crocs! I told her we'd wait until we get closer to an actual planned WDW trip.
WoD192.jpg

Walking back to the subway station, we wanted a picture by the LOVE statue. The first person we asked took it with just the VE in the frame. Haha, that was wonderful. It was a good thing we checked too! We watched her take pictures of her family and she walked up really close to them and I just wanted to ask her, "Why don't you just take a picture of your family sitting on a bench?" It didn't make sense. I think her husband pointed it out to her after a few pictures!

We asked someone else to take another one of us and Weird purposely asked him to get all the letters into the picture. The man did so, thankfully, a little crooked but at least it's not just VE!
WoD196.jpg

Back underground to take the subway to St. Mark's Place. You can see the 57 on the wall.
WoD198.jpg

Sushi from Zen.
WoD199.jpg

Just like Irky always has pictures with statues, this is the first picture that started the tradition of Weird getting a picture of me with our sushi!
WoD200.jpg

At one point, Weird pointed behind me and I thought something was happening. When I turned back around, I saw that he had put his piece of avocado on my plate. I absolutely love avocado! And Weird ;) Savoring that last piece, yummy!
WoD202.jpg

Back on the subway for the first leg of the commute home!
WoD203.jpg

Also had to go outside of the 2nd floor of the ferry terminal for a somewhat decent view of the city at night.
WoD206.jpg

Okie dokie! That's it ... haha, for Weird's picture. I've got a few pictures to add too so stay tuned!

Cool story about the CMs (are they still CMs outside of Disney?) who knew about VMK, especially the girl's aunt being on it! Prime opportunity for bringing up "It's a Small World," but I don't want to get the lyrics stuck in anyone's head!

My sympathies to you and Weird on being lactose intolerant. I cannot imagine my world without ice cream. :sad2: Have you ever tried soy ice cream? I haven't myself and am not sure it'd be a suitable substitute, but maybe. :confused3

Glad you two got a decent picture of you in front of the LOVE statue! That is always a risk when having a stranger take your picture--I've gotten ones back with people's heads cut off and everything! :rotfl:

I'll be watching for your pictures! :thumbsup2

I actually thought about that, but I believe that they are just because they still give off that same Disney magic. The guy who announced who was going to be next in the Friendship Room could definitely be someone who works at a park. The only reason I thought twice about calling those 2 CMs was because they didn't have on the uniform. Everyone else was wearing the same WoD outfit.

I never LOVED ice cream that much before I was lactose intolerant. I had to be in a mood for it (not really something I could have every single day like some people I know!). But once I couldn't have it ... oh man, it got to be torturous! I'm always wanting a Chipwich. And I love Dove chocolate ice cream bars. I really want to try the Klondike bar with Reese's.

But alas, I have been sticking to sorbet lately. I've never tried soy ice cream before. My mom said she'd get it for me to try, but I figure not being able to eat ice cream is a good thing because then I don't waste my calories on ice cream. I do enjoy chocolate cake a lot more anyway ;)

It was a good thing we checked the camera! The wonders of digi cams! Otherwise we would have developed it and then ... haha, that would have been a "pleasant" surprise! Haha, I've seen pictures where people have cut out the small children in the picture! "Ahhh it's okay, I didn't really want them in the picture anyway. They would have ruined it~"

Here are some more pictures from World of Disney from my camera. A slightly different view of the 2nd floor from the 3rd floor. How creepy is that elevator!
IMG_3831.jpg

Weird loves Giselle. She's the only other girl that I don't mind him liking. Oh, and by Giselle, I mean the animated version!
IMG_3832.jpg

I really liked this one. The animated characters on Main Street!
IMG_3833.jpg

Boo's door! So cute! Reminds me of the Monster's Inc game for Gameboy where you need to find the pieces to build it back together.
IMG_3834.jpg

And I had to get this one too because Weird and I just recently watched Peter Pan on DVD. I don't think I had ever seen it beforehand! Doing one of the quests in VMK would have been so much easier if I had seen it. I was standing in the Pirate Treehouse and saying, "Wendy ... Wendy Darling ... Tinkerbell" and trying to list out all these names. Haha, finally someone told me that it was "Tiger Lily" and then I was able to walk off that plank!
IMG_3837.jpg

Mickey just makes me so happy!
IMG_3839.jpg

Another one of those ... "Hehe, not going to say anything more" pictures.
IMG_3840.jpg

These were great! They're all pins!
IMG_3852.jpg

And a few more Precious Moments figurines ... Lady and the Tramp! I actually don't think I've seen this movie either. What kind of Disney fan am I?!? I guess that's why Weird and I work. Like I've said before, he knows the movies, I know the parks!
IMG_3855.jpg

I loved seeing Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather! And I admit ... I had to look those names up! I feel like I liked the green one the best, but when I looked at pictures just now, I think I liked the blue one. I think I need to watch Sleeping Beauty again! Maybe I didn't want that one that often because I couldn't shake the image of Aurora's face before she pricks her finger!
IMG_3858.jpg

Still on the 3rd floor, Weird found an expensive version of his sorcerer hat!
IMG_3860.jpg

Can you say expensive?!?
IMG_3861.jpg

This may have been one of my favorites!
IMG_3866.jpg

I think I may have ridden the teacups once in my lifetime. I'm not really into spinning.
IMG_3867.jpg

This came out blurry, but I wanted to post it anyway. How cute would this be to have in a doctor's office!
IMG_3868.jpg

Though these bigger statue figurine thingamabobbies are cute, where do people have the room for them?
IMG_3872.jpg

Love that this is our version of art. Haha, well at least for me. I don't really appreciate art that much! A trip to MOMA? No thanks. Just let me see some Disney Fine Art!
IMG_3881.jpg

Stay tuned for more!

I could honestly stay all day in that store, and if I wasn't paying much attention spend alot of money in there too. I cant believe that art they had in there. We went to the art museum in a city that was close to us... and to tell you the truth I don't understand how some of those pieces are art. I wish I could buy some of that Disney art though, and I would definetly want one of those Disney big statue thingymabobs lol. I dont know how people would have room for them either, unless they just have a whole room dedicated to Disney. Good idea! When I get my own house, im going to get an extra room just for that. Thanks for sharing your adventures!

Wow, the store is amazing. I had heard about it closing, but we might make it to NYC for a quick trip before then, possibly in Feb for Hannah's birthday.

I love all the artwork and the pins.
The tea cups is cute. That's actually a favorite of ours.

Its so cute how Weird and Ninja got to tour the parks while you were there.

Those pictures are great! Those pictures in the Friendship room even have Disney Characters that are obsolete, yet still there. I really like that.

Definitely! I agree. We didn't have enough time there since the store was closing. Plus, it takes more time when it's crowded. We just really enjoyed looking at every little thing.

I guess art is a very personal matter, but I know that those paintings that don't have a picture ... like Jackson Pollock's stuff ... I just don't get it. At all. I mean, it looks like paint splatterings.

If you have your extra Disney room, I'd be so excited to see it! Thanks for joining us on our adventures :goodvibes

I was sad when I heard that it was closing. I mean, Weird and I probably wouldn't go back in a long time, but it was nice to know that it was always an option.

Yep! Weird and Ninja had to use their imagination while at the store. Considering our real schedules, we're not sure when we'll actually be able to take them to the real WDW!

Those pictures are great! Those pictures in the Friendship room even have Disney Characters that are obsolete, yet still there. I really like that.

I'm pretty sure I can't even name all the characters ... I'm going to go back and see if I can! I know I haven't watched many of the older Disney movies. I mean, I only recently sat and watched Peter Pan in its entirety. I think I my have seen it as a child, possibly in school, but I didn't remember anything about Tiger Lily! Too bad the school year has started, and I can't spend my time working on getting through those movies!
