Chapter 22, Still Last Day (Day 10)
We enjoyed the three character venues with NO lines and lengthy interaction. DS12-minus-24-hours even got a birthday kiss from Minnie. Now, hes not into girls yet (even rodents) so the thrill was lost on him, but he puffed up when DH told him he was jealous of the kiss.
Hummm...where is that Image Stabilization when you need it??
We shared the love with Pluto, Minnie, and Goofy then skipped (!) out to the Character Hall of Fame dump shop. Suddenly, Es greed paralyzed him. The boy who had seen and touched every piece of memorabilia for nine days had to have a souvenir (just one!!). The little guy had bought some piece of junk (since gone with the wind, I think) every day, but NOW was the time to spend HIS $20. Those of you with children will understand exactly why he aimed straight on for the
Potato Head tower. We stood there for an agonizing few minutes making a plan, for Shrek and ds 12 had those Space FPs burning a hole in their pockets. Well, Shreks pocket. We could never trust A to hold onto a valuable piece of paper.
Getting on with it
E and I stayed in the Character Hall of Fame dump shop so he could make a Potato while Shrek and A rode Space one last time.
22 minutes.
Twenty-two. Have you ever stood at a Mr. Potato Head tower for 20+ minutes. Scintillating, I tell ya. By the time E was done that plastic spud had more junk hanging off it than an entire fanny-pack wearing family. Once we finished dressing/assembling Buzz Lightyear/Grooms Hat (?)/mustacheod/suitcase Potato, we had to perform surgery to get him into the box, maximizing our $18 bargain. I was in a full sweat (sorry
Sher, glow
) at the end but he was grinning ear to ear. Sigh
hes lucky I love him. Next time Im taking the Space FP and running for my sanity.
We still had a few minutes as Shrek and A were riding Space AGAIN!! So E and I checked out the area formerly known as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea/Character Meet and NOW
Refurbished For Your (My) Future Enjoyment
. The Hundred Acre Wood playground!!!!!!!!!!
My E is a big boy but is still only six years old. He is very independent. Hes also mature for his age, which saidens me. Who doesnt want to keep their baby young? I do!!! So I was happy he wanted to play in Pooh land. We were frolicking (use your imagination) over the hills and dales of Rabbits garden when a CM approached E and reminded him (me) that Poohs playground was designed for children age 5 and under. The poor guy had just turned six! He was so embarrassed. I told her (of course!!) he had just turned six and she looked at me as if I was lying!!! He is also missing several teeth, one of which we had to have pulled when he was four and I could just FEEEL her looking at his mouth as most kids lose top teeth at age 6 or after. She really did! E looked sooo embarrassed and I explained that God made him tall and she probably thought he was eight. I sweetly told her he would be very careful and safe, then put her on The List
Some families get their game on (hi
Mel!) with a paintbrush chase on Tom Sawyers Island. The Fixers are all about the fine art of Indy speedway racing. E wants to be a racer someday. Deciding at an early age his God-given legs would not be enough speed, he announced his intent to be a racecar driver OR, failing that, boat racer. He has loved that slooow loader in MK since he was three.
The little joker is tall for his age, but still cant quite drive (push the gas) and steer (if you can call it that). Being Es co-pilot requires a strong neck and resistant stomach. I drew the short straw so we hopped in and prepared for launch.
HI GA CAT!!!!!!!!!!
Jerk to the left!! Jerk to the right!!!
Good thing my camera has Image Stabilization (IS)
E was laughing and spinning that wheel the whole time. The four of usin three carstore that course up. I absolutely love seeing E on the cars. I dont like the forever wait there, but yes, he is worth it
That smile is my daily dose of sunshine
It's almost noon on the last day. More.
