True! We used to like the Halloween party when my girls were young, but these days it just seems like the after hours parties are full of a bunch of rowdy teens and I'm not really up for that.

TNP has made it rain at Trader Sam's.

False. I have some special things scattered around, but many of my favorite items are packed away in a box. I have never figured out what to do with them as some of them are quite old. Some are just fun mementos with no meaning to anyone but me.

TNP feels a personal connection to DL that can't be explained to people who ask why they still go to DL.

True x1000! My coworkers, friends, and family have gotten used to it now, but it took them a while to grasp that I really only like vacationing at DLR. While everyone else shares their trips to Mexico, Vietnam, etc, I'm ready to gush over the newest things at DL. LOL! It's not that I haven't tried vacationing other places...it's just that I don't enjoy them as much. There is something about the fun, contained/safe, nostalgic feeling I get from DL. Sure, it's likely a bit of escapism as well, but what vacation really isn't escapism? This is why I love the DISboards so much. Everyone here gets it!

True! I've done this several times, in fact. I've gone to Dapper Day and had a day full of doing things with my friends like having fun dining reservations, enjoying the convention, meeting other Dapper Day guests, taking pictures, enjoying Trader Sam's, doing a tour etc. Usually, though, we do ride the Mark Twain or ride in one of the Main St vehicles.

I'd definitely opt to add some "throwback" Parades from the 90's and early 2000's. Lion King Parade was NEXT LEVEL haha

TNP would rather skip parades and take advantage of shorter queue lines...

False-I love taking photos of the parades, the CMs bring so much life and character to each event. Touring for me has changed a lot though over the years, so we don't stop and see as many parades nowadays comparted to when I was able to do more solo days.

OMG, yes!! My family used to go to the Halloween party when my kids were little. It wasn't as crazy popular as it is these days and my girls loved it. We all dressed up.

I went to the first Dapper Day way back when and my friends and I never missed it for the first several years. Now I generally go to either the spring or fall but don't usually do both. I think it's fun dressing up but I've gotten older and my friends aren't that into it now so when I go, it's usually with my daughter and grandson. I've sort of run out of ideas for outfits and tend to recycle sometimes. It used to be so exciting to plan for but not as much when you're the only one who's really into it, and I can't get away with some of the things I used to be able to wear, sigh.

I also like to Disney bound sometimes. I'm going to an after-hours Star Wars event next week with my friends and I've got 3 D-bounding outfits (because my friends insisted) and my SW ensemble. It's kind of surprising how quickly cheap little odds and ends from Amazon add up.

True, in a way -- I used the app to send a CM compliment. During our last trip we had a torrential downpour (STRONG winds and so much rain there were pools of standing water and swirling drains). I knew it was going to rain, but I didn't prepare for the level of rain we got...and we had an important dining reservation we HAD to make/didn't want to miss (Club 33!). We ended up having to go to the DLH Fantasia shop to buy another umbrella. I was frazzled and stressed, but the CM working was so kind and put me at ease. After that interaction, I was able to brave it through the walk down DtD in my completely inappropriate rain attire. I went onto the app and sent a CM appreciation to note how she turned my day around. And Club 33 was well worth the very wet journey! Side note, the wind was so bad, it broke my newly purchased umbrella, but hey it did it's job

True!! My sister and I make an annual trip to DLR at Christmastime. We always stay at the GCH. One year, we arrived and had some difficulty with our room. A wonderful CM named Angela whisked us off to a new room and made sure everything was right. She was SOOO nice...we ended up having the best time with her and she was declared our honorary sister. Later that evening, we returned to our room to find a beautiful arrangement of goodies and the sweetest card that was signed "Love from your sister Angela!" That was years ago and we still check in with her if she's there when we go on our Dec trip.

I've actually had lots of pixie dust moments and have met some of the nicest people in the world at DLR. It has led to so many new and wonderful friendships! I try to pass along some pixie dust when I can.

An Imagineer?! Wow. If you don't mind me asking, what area did you work in and what was your favorite project?

And true, I have never had a turkey leg. I do want to remedy this (hopefully next visit). I refer to myself as a recovering vegetarian after 15 years of being plant based. My iron levels and overall energy have been thanking me for the decision to go to the dark side

True. Been to DL probably 30-40 times over several decades and have STILL never dined at Blue Bayou. The last half dozen trips I've tried and tried to secure a reservation but can't seem to ever find a single open time no matter what I try. Guess it just isn't meant to be. Oh, but I did try a turkey leg for the first time a week ago.....meh. Bengal BBQ is much tastier although pricier for how much food you get compared to those gigantic turkey legs.

On Mother's day one year a little boy approached me on Main Street and gave me an origami flower he'd made. It was so sweet. I still have it

False! I love the parades and fireworks etc. However, I don't want to wait around to hold a spot so I usually watch things on the fly or, when applicable, buy my way in. I used to watch the parade by purchasing a Holiday Tour or staying concierge at a Disney hotel. I think you could choose from fireworks or parade but I don't remember for sure. I also bought the dessert package last year so I could watch WOC, which I'd never really seen before. I enjoy the bands/musicians in DTD and loved it when there was a Beatles cover band a few years back when I was there. I like watching the fireworks from my room on site if I'm in a spot where I can see them. I love the band. This year, I watched the flag ceremony for the first time and got teary eyed, which surprised me. But I've never really seen Fantasmic! or most of the short parades in DCA.

TNP has bought, or would buy if offered again, a personalized brick in the Disneyland esplanade (area between DCA and DL).

True-last one was the big 50 in February of 2020. Amazing trip then the big lockdown. I was actually lucky enough to go twice for my birthday-was there also on January 17 for the opening of Rise of the Resistance.

Same!! My friend got one with the brass castle and I was always sorry I didn't get one. I would also totally buy one now.
