lala, is it back to school shopping time already? Wow, the summer is just flying by!
What's your purse like?

What's your purse like?

Okay, but if you girls stay up all night giggling, well, then, I guess...hmmm... I guess we'll just have to join you next time!I'll be there the month after you. I'm going in October for a girls' week with a friend I met here on the dis a few years ago. I was just there for a week in May with my husband but this will be my first "friends" trip and I'm really looking forward to it.

What's your purse like?![]()
Eeep!
I am waiting to hear back from a Craigslist ad for an apartment in Toronto starting in September. It sounds almost too good to be true! It's $850 per month for a two bedroom, nice building, in a good neighbourhood close to the subway. I feel like it has to be some sort of scam(or typo)! I emailed the poster asking for photos and further details but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. With my roommate that would be $425 with utilities included!! That is just crazy for rent in this city. AND dogs are allowed which is a huge obstacle since I've got a golden doodle pup.
And Diznotyzed, I'm pretty hairy if I don't keep up with the situation... I'm one of those people who has to shave every day.Blegh.
Jane-in-PA- We stayed at the marriot on Canal, so I stuck to the French Quarter and walked everywhere. I am really bad at directions, but the city was easy to navigate. I don't know about Mardi Gras...that might be a little crazy for me. I tried to avoid Bourbon St. whenever possible! I think I left that stage of life behind a long time ago! Ooh, forgot to add that I went to NOLA. Best desserts ever!
Disnotyzed- "Arsepaper" sounds like tp!
Monny- I hope your baby is feeling better. If you want to look on the bright sie, projectile vomits only get worse for moms to clean up. Kids get bigger and their stomachs can hold more. DS is a puker. If he eats too much, if he runs around too soon, if he sees something gross...he gets the look! I rush him to a garbage can!
But there are lots of other areas for watching parades that are much tamer and family-friendly. It's been several years since we've gone to Mardi Gras in NOLA, but my kids go sometimes now that they are in their 20's, and I'm sure they go in the Quarter. I prefer not to know, though.
Why can't they go to Disney or skiing during Mardi Gras?
I'm actually just going to stay with a friend at her place and two other girlfriends are coming up. She lives in a beach town so it'll be like a bit of a vacation. We're planning on just hanging out, catching up, going to see a movie and having dinner out. Nothing "special" but we always have a good time!
Well, that sounds like my kind of weekend! Doesn't get any better than that, in my book. I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Are you watching SYTYCD tonight? Who are you rooting for? I really liked Alex but now that he is out, I think I like Kent and Lauren. Jose seems sweet, but I think he is my least favourite contestant.
I'm pretty leery of such a low price so I will definitely want to see the place in person and talk to the landlord before giving over any personal information. But thank you for the reminder that you can never be too careful!
Poor thing.
He's good at what he does but he is just not versatile and IMO doesn't have the technique to keep up no matter how nice he is. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences, Jane from PA! That's really unsettling. I'm so glad you weren't harmed by the scam at all!I'm pretty leery of such a low price so I will definitely want to see the place in person and talk to the landlord before giving over any personal information. But thank you for the reminder that you can never be too careful!
So sad to see (spoiler)Ashley go home tonight.Poor thing.
And I totally agree, I don't get all the judges' love for Jose. He's good at what he does but he is just not versatile and IMO doesn't have the technique to keep up no matter how nice he is.
What are your plans for the weekend?
So it was a good lesson for both us us to be very guarded with the internet. And we didn't have to learn it the hard way.
I can't imagine the heat in LA right now... I went to NOLA once when I was in grade 8 and I still remember walking outside of the hotel and feeling like I was walking straight into a hot tub!! My Canadian body just can't handle that heat!!
Nigel raved about his solo but it didn't impress me at all.Oh goodness, I knew that's what you were doing! There was a whole "camp vs lake house" discussion. I'm sorry, I'm not always great with my memory.I can't imagine the heat in LA right now... I thought the SAME thing about Jose. I'm really hoping he's gone next week but the judges just seem to love him so much.Nigel raved about his solo but it didn't impress me at all.
That's OK! That's why I didn't ask you what you were doing. I thought you might have already said, so I thought I'd go back and look before asking.
Which I haven't done yet, so what are your weekend plans?
Instead of a snowbird who heads south during the winter, I could be a humiditybird who heads north during the summer!

You responded to me a few posts ago... take a peek at #146....

but IMO it is just not on the same level as the other dancing.
I started reading your posts and fell asleep with the computer in my lap.

Actually, I think you did! I'm the one having the girls weekend. You responded to me a few posts ago... take a peek at #146....
I'm feeling not so alone in my lack of DIS memory now, so thank you!
I'm sure there is a lot of talent and hard work that go into break dancing, but I agree with you. It seems like they could just put any song on and do the same thing over and over! I probably sound ignorant and if there are any closet B-Boys or B-Girls on this thread I apologize in advancebut IMO it is just not on the same level as the other dancing.

I'm sorry, autumnpalm! Gee, that's pretty scary. I can see if it was on page 2 or 3, but that was just 1 page ago! Of course I remember your girls' weekend. Yikes! It's going to take me a while to remember exactly which Sweet Nothing said what.
Morning everyone....feeling crappy...migriane...UGH...hope everyone is having a good day

Morning Girls!
Oh no Dax, not a migraine! You're in good company- I get them every month. Stupid hormones.
Do you take anything for them?
I have found that two excedrin and a coke takes the edge off for me. Hope you feel better soon, and hope it doesn't last for days.
Jane/Autumn--- you girls were quite chatty last night!I started reading your posts and fell asleep with the computer in my lap.
WE had bad storms last night but the sun is shining right now.
Hope everyone has a great day and has safe travels to everywhere they are headed for the weekend.
I think I might take the kids out shopping for a bit. That could be trouble![]()
The judges always seem to love a popper or hip hop dancer who can't dance outside of the genre.
It was 102 here today and going to be 106 tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Anybody want to hang out with me this weekend?
OK, I'm not complaining anymore!
)
No the Sweet Nothings are awesome....
It's just my perimenopause self with my sleep/no sleep/forgetfulness etc going on. Some nights I sleep, some nights I don't. Last night was a sleeper!
It will take us a bit of time ---- but we'll all get there.

The worst part? Homeboy had on leather pants.
