The Everything and Nothing Thread

Pakey - I know what you mean about the reality shows! I gave up American Idol years ago. Never watched Survivor. But I just can't stop watching Big Brother, Bachelor/Bachelorette and The Amazing Race!

Welcome Kymmyk!

Marcy - :scared1: I would have freaked too!! Glad everything was okay.

I've never watched the Amazing Race or Survivor, and I gave up on the Bachelor/Bachelorette. I do watch American Idol, but my favorites are Dancing With the Stars and now So You Think You Can Dance. Just started watching that one this season. Love the dancing shows!

Now I hate to even admit this, but I tuned in to the Real World this season because it is in New Orleans. (my DD showed me the house where it was filmed). Oh.......my........gosh! I wanted to see the house and the places they went to in NO, but talk about a train wreck! If this is "reality" then that is truly frightening. I turned it off last night, and that's it for me. Horrible. :sad2:

OK, I'd like to join in. I'm not in any of the other "click" type threads. But I'd like some place to talk & not feel like an outsider! :goodvibes

I'm planning a trip in Sept. with DH, DD & DSIL. Most plans made, just a few little tweaks left. I can't wait! Love Sept coz I'll be in Disney, but sad coz summer will be over! :rotfl:
Hi Everyone!! im new here :) Going to Disney in September too .. and i am OBSESSED with planning it!!! never been in September.. but i hear its a nice time to visit!

Morning, everyone!

To all those heading to camps and beach houses- have fun!:goodvibes

Lala, good luck at the mall and have fun with your DD! I love mother daughter shopping days.:thumbsup2

I have the day off- I will probably do a little packing for the girls weekend I have coming up, take a bath, do some reading... kind of a lazy day! But I'm not complaining.:cloud9:

Girls weekend sounds fun! Where are you going to go?

Jane-in-PA- We stayed at the marriot on Canal, so I stuck to the French Quarter and walked everywhere. I am really bad at directions, but the city was easy to navigate. I don't know about Mardi Gras...that might be a little crazy for me. I tried to avoid Bourbon St. whenever possible! I think I left that stage of life behind a long time ago! Ooh, forgot to add that I went to NOLA. Best desserts ever!
Disnotyzed- "Arsepaper" sounds like tp!:rotfl2:
Monny- I hope your baby is feeling better. If you want to look on the bright sie, projectile vomits only get worse for moms to clean up. Kids get bigger and their stomachs can hold more. DS is a puker. If he eats too much, if he runs around too soon, if he sees something gross...he gets the look! I rush him to a garbage can!

I'm actually just going to stay with a friend at her place and two other girlfriends are coming up. She lives in a beach town so it'll be like a bit of a vacation.:goodvibes We're planning on just hanging out, catching up, going to see a movie and having dinner out. Nothing "special" but we always have a good time!:lovestruc

Are you watching SYTYCD tonight? Who are you rooting for? I really liked Alex but now that he is out, I think I like Kent and Lauren. Jose seems sweet, but I think he is my least favourite contestant.

Around here, the shoes on the utility lines mean that a drug dealer lives in the neighborhood. :scared1:

YIKES! Glad we have our utility lines buried in my neighborhood. I don't want to know that! :sad2:

Good afternoon....:)

I had to work this morning (I teach preschool during the school year, and we take turns working at the preschool summer program during the summer. Today was one of my days) from 7-12:15. It was the first time I left DS11 home for that long. I tried calling him when I left work to let him know I was on my way home...HE DIDN'T ANSWER THE PHONE!! I tried three times! I got the answering machine. I'm yelling "Hello??? Helloo???? PICK UP THE PHONE!"

Finally, on the fourth call, he picks up. "Sorry mom, the volume was down low on the answering machine." Um, did you consider maybe turning the volume up? Or maybe answering the phone after it rang three times in a freaking row?? It took me a few minutes to breath again!

He was OK...did everything on his list...good kid! I just worry too much!

Glad your DS was OK. My first thought as I was reading your post: poor kid was still sleeping. At least my DS would have been at that age! :rotfl:

Wow I have to say that I am very surprised that CERTAIN people (that shall remain nameless but you know who you are) have not talked about food once in the first 8 pages of this new thread! :lmao:

Can't wait to talk about everything and nothing!

I cleaned up projectile vomit from a 5 month old this morning- would that be considered an everything or nothing event.

Projectile vomit from a 5 month old? Sounds like an everything event to me. And as for food, I made some chocolate covered strawberries. SOOOOO GOOOD. I love chocolate covered anything, but strawberries... most yummie of all.

I'm a nurse, can you tell? I can talk about vomit & still think about yummie things to eat at the same time. ;) :rotfl2:

That was my older brother! Once after a big pancake breakfast on a Sunday morning, he puked off the church balcony when he was about 5 with no warning. My mom DIED.:rotfl::rotfl: It is now his GF's favourite story but it just gives me the shivers.:laughing:

Hi! Glad you're here! :goodvibes We've gone in Sept the last few years. Yes the restaurants are full, but except for the headline rides, the parks are great. We go early, break for lunch , a swim & a nap. Then shower & a nice relaxing sit down dinner.

So what are your plans? Who is going with you? :)

:welcome: to the DIS and this thread! We're going to WDW in Sept, too! We love it then! We're like focusondisney - long afternoon breaks to avoid the worst of the heat. We're also fond of a cold beverage or two!

Joan

Afternoon, Amigos!

Lots of pages to read thru since this morning--- wow--- we must be full of nothing!:goodvibes

******AHEM******.......................... that is all.:lmao:
P.S........ chocolate covered strawberries were covered on pages following your post and I wasn't even part of the convo- so there! neener neener neener.:rotfl:
Glad you made it over!

Diz maybe we could be the Sweet Nothings, like in Grease The Pink Ladies. LOLOLOL

Monny - sorry about the vomit, and projectile at that. Hope baby is feeling better.

Marcy - the phone deal would scare me too. I would have been worried then mad then upset that I'd gotten upset! Glad everything is A OK.

I haven't spoke to you Jo, so hello!!!:yay:

And good afternoon to everyone!!!!!!!!!!
I like the Sweet Nothings... and Hi to you Lauracroft!:)

Maybe Chris will be the next Bachelor if he doesn't end up with Ali! :goodvibes
No no no-- you know that CCC (for the rest of the Nothings-- that's what Shelly and I call Chris---- we talk about the Bachelorette endlessly--:rotfl:) is too normal to be the next Bachelor. I give you exhibit A.... Jake.

Okay seriously as some of the Nothings can attest--- I get bleeped (censored) every stinking time I try to use the word "****" on this site and you go and add "paper" to it and it's okay????:lmao: eta----- it did it again!!!!!!!!:lmao:
Forgot to say that I do love how you got your name. My youngest gets things all mixed up too!

YIKES! Glad we have our utility lines buried in my neighborhood. I don't want to know that! :sad2:

::yes::
Um.. hello fellow nurse!:)
Isn't it just hilarious how you can go out to lunch after just doing the vilest stuff and talk to your fellow coworkers and tell them alllllllll the gross stuff--- all while munching on a hamburger? you always know you're being too loud when patrons around you start turning green.:lmao:

Okay so Big Brother tonight. I'm making Balsamic Chicken for dinner.

Pakey- did you get airfare???????? And----- did your Chinese Crested get to go back to it's roots when you went to China??? Tell us the grosss stuff you ate!:upsidedow

Not grossed all, just impressed with your pain tolerance and patience!:thumbsup2

Since I'm no longer a spring chicken, it's not as bad as it sounds! After years of waxing (Nads used to mean something else to me before that product came out ;) ) and epilating, I'm not as hairy as I used to be :chewy:

I remember my mom bought me the Epilady for Christmas years ago. I used it once on a very small section of my leg and ever again. I would need sedation to ever do that again!

Hi Everyone!! im new here :) Going to Disney in September too .. and i am OBSESSED with planning it!!! never been in September.. but i hear its a nice time to visit!

I'll be there the month after you. I'm going in October for a girls' week with a friend I met here on the dis a few years ago. I was just there for a week in May with my husband but this will be my first "friends" trip and I'm really looking forward to it.

I've never watched the Amazing Race or Survivor, and I gave up on the Bachelor/Bachelorette. I do watch American Idol, but my favorites are Dancing With the Stars and now So You Think You Can Dance. Just started watching that one this season. Love the dancing shows!

I used to watch almost every one. Am Idol from the beginning, Survivor from the beginning, the dancing ones, yada yada. Now, with my new resolution, I am only watching the cooking competitions (Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, and Next Food Network Star), Amazing Race and Project Runway.

I do not cook at all so I have no idea why I kept the cooking competitions but I did. The only one I really miss is SYTYCD but I try to catch it on the nights my husband isn't home so he doesn't realize I'm backsliding on my resolution.

Eeep!

I am waiting to hear back from a Craigslist ad for an apartment in Toronto starting in September. It sounds almost too good to be true! It's $850 per month for a two bedroom, nice building, in a good neighbourhood close to the subway. I feel like it has to be some sort of scam(or typo:rotfl:)! I emailed the poster asking for photos and further details but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. With my roommate that would be $425 with utilities included!! That is just crazy for rent in this city. AND dogs are allowed which is a huge obstacle since I've got a golden doodle pup.

And Diznotyzed, I'm pretty hairy if I don't keep up with the situation... I'm one of those people who has to shave every day. Blegh.

Hello Everyone:goodvibes
Back from a day of shopping. I ended up getting myself a new purse. I am very excited! I got DD8 a bunch of clothes for back to school that were on sale. I saved a lot of money, which was nice.
I hope that everyone has a great evening!
