@PaHunter I hope shocking the well works and takes care of it. Sucks because you do have to go without running water.

We been fortunate here the only issue I had to deal with is at some point the previous owner did not change the filter correctly once and I had to go to nearly every faucet and clean sediment out of the aerators. I have one screen left to clean but its hard to get to as it is part of the kitchen sink faucet. I might have to remove the entire thing to do that.

So Saturday, Shocked the well with bleach, Sunday pumped out well for 10 hours to remove chlorine from well. Sunday also changed kitchen faucet, new hose leaked. So today was back to Lowes, new parts, sink done and not leaking. It was then time to install the UV filter system, after some not so family friendly words it has finally been completed.
Tomorrow is the draw of water for our retest of the well so we can hopefully complete our refinance. Ugh, is tomorrow Saturday ??

So Saturday, Shocked the well with bleach, Sunday pumped out well for 10 hours to remove chlorine from well. Sunday also changed kitchen faucet, new hose leaked. Plumbing can be a total pain. Mostly retrofitting things in when you are trying not to reinvent the wheel. My friends and I have kind of changed that approach of screw it, we eventually end up reinventing it anyway so let's just plan on it.

By around this time tomorrow we will be picking up our newest puppy. We are excited, though lots to plan since its basically a 14 hour day. Melissa and I are only ones going and planning to share the driving. We are super excited about it though lots of planning left to happen.

I made a dinner reservation over at Disney Springs for a night in March this year since DW and I will be camping over at Jetty Park on the Atlantic Ocean and wanted to come over for an afternoon visit followed by dinner. Guilty I am of sticking with a favorite, Raglan Road, but hey that's my choice.

If the weather is nice we may come in to Disney Springs, park in the garage, and bus over to the Fort and pick up a P&J's meal for lunch. Then kill the afternoon at the Fort while leaving enough time to bus back to DS for the Raglan Road ADR.

I used to kid myself and say I'll walk around DS and browse the shops but the last time I said (and did) that, I was bored.

So we'll be in the bubble for a few hours but not in the parks.

So our well test came back clear after shocking the well with chlorine and installing a new UV light. We now have a closing date of Thursday. Rates were good and a great time to refinance. Now we will do some shopping and get our old furnace removed and a new one installed for next year. Old furnace was installed in the 70's.

Quick question, I went out and bought new Firestone Transforce HT2 tires ( 6 ) for the motor home this week and want to pick up a tire pressure monitoring system, does anyone have a suggestion Or do you have one you would recommend? Thanks

I have the TST TPMS and have used it for about 3 years. I change the batteries at the beginning of each camping season and have had no issues with them going dead before the end of the season. It was also easy to set up.

@snowmedic will let Bert respond. We had one brand and I guess it lasted 5 years. Just bought a new one because we were having issues with the old one. Will use the new ones on the way home. I think new ones are TST don’t remember the old ones. Spoiler I don’t think Bert was super happy with the old ones.

We used TST 507 flow through on the RV and 510 caps on our RAV4 toad. Those worked well for about 5 years before they started failing with a high pressure warning (like our tires reached 512 psi). We couldn’t troubleshoot our way out of it, even after contacting the company. Now we are going to try EEZRV TPMS, we‘ll let you know how that goes.

Well the snow has begun to fly, here at 855am. See what we end up with. Today may head back downstairs and work on some more plumbing. I am working on replacing all the old copper pipes with PEX tubing. I have bought some of the fittings over the past couple weeks. We still have some more to purchase to finish up, but this will get us close. We can take the copper down to the recycling center and hopefully recoup some of the cost of this project.

Saturday was a LOOOONG day on the road. We left just before 7am and got home just before 10pm. 15ish hours on the road to Asheville, NC and and back, we were glad we did it this way due to the Sunday weather that was coming. Meet Penny, or latest addition to the house.



She and Ellie are learning to play well. Bug is busy telling the puppy to....bug off...every time she climbs on her.



Sunday was spent working in the house replacing fluorescent light fixtures with burn out ballasts with LED fixtures in the basement craft/storage area. Later that afternoon I got to test out the new 'snow mower' as Melissa has dubbed it.



I have tire chains and put them on before going out. It did a good job and there was a small learning curve and a loose bolt in the shifter mechanism I had to repair about mid plowing. I have another inch or so to take care of today plus clear and move the cars to do that area. I think for VA it will serve its purpose for me and if we get a bigger snow I know now to get out there when its about 4" or less for each round and should be good to go.

Today the kids have a snow day and the puppy is up there keeping them busy while I work. Tomorrow we will see how this works out but so far Penny is doing well and even only requiring one middle of the night pee and slept till after 6 today.

I really liked ours, Smartire which incorporated into the Silverleaf computer. The batteries are starting to go, which was fine since tires are needing to be replaced. They were very accurate with both pressure and temperature.
The down side. Smartire no longer supports passenger cars and RVs. You can get the sensors, which I did in late 2019 when I replaced the steer tires. The sensors have to be "turned on" as they are off for shipping in order to save the battery. There is a "wand" (not my name for it) which is used to activate the sensor I assume before of after the sensor is mounted.
The down side, downer side. The sensors are on a band mounted to the wheel inside the tire. I have two $100 sensors mounted inside my steer tires that are not functioning because they are inert.
I too am watching this thread as I may have to go to another type of TPMS for my coach.

I'm looking into that product. It's just a pain because everything was incorporated into the computer and I could see everything at a glance.
