OK back to a Disney discussion for a minute....
Any other Dad's or DW's on here in Education? I'm struggling with the fact that the times we have available to go spend a week in WDW are peak times or extremely hot!
Currently we've been vacationing in Daytona for a week during our Spring Break, right around Easter and spending just a day at MK for my girls. I'm trying to change this tradition a little and spend a week at WDW, but also realize that this is the absolute peak time for the year and am not a fan of big crowds!
Any other Dads have any experience in vacationing when you're limited to the normal times off that a educator receives?
I'm thinking summer is going to be the best and only time that we'd be able to swing a week at WDW that we wouldn't be fighting everyone else to enjoy our stay.
Also - has anyone every bought DVC through a resale agency...if so - how much is average resale on points these days?
Thanks!
Due to special circumstances we've taken several trips to Disney smack dab in the middle of peak season during spring break.
Yes it's crowded, but you can still have a really good trip.
1. Rope drop is an absolute must. You need to be there early because, ideally you want to be at the front of the line.
2. You must have a touring plan. Take advantage of everything you can, and see if you can find the less crowded days for each park.
3. If you want to see a parade you will have to plan ahead. People were taking their parade seats 1.5 hours in advance on our last trip. We found something about 30 minutes ahead of time but it was hard.
When we do this we are usually done in the park by 1 or 2 and we head back to the hotel for the afternoon. In the evenings we come back for the parades., fireworks, less popular rides and shopping.
On our cruise we talked with people that were in the parks at the same time as us. They were complaining that they got to Epcot about 30 minutes after it opened and by the time they made it to Soarin the FP were for 4:30 that afternoon. They only got to ride it once. We were there at the same time and Road it 3 times that day without standing in line for more than 15-20 minutes.
Don't let the crowds scare you, but realize that if you don't take the proper steps you'll either be waiting in a lot of lines or you won't get to do much.
