I am a man of faith, certainly....and I always thought there would be nothing that could shake it. Unfortunately, I've found myself questioning it. I just feel robbed of a man who has been so a part of shaping my life at such a young age.
Lord, please give us all the strength to overcome!
edit: It is not my intention to bring "down" this thread with the bad news...I just know you are all a bunch of genuine guys that can provide great support and it is much appreciated! Thanks.
Hang in there Scott. Try to not let yourself get discouraged. As you know life is very difficult and not fair sometimes, but God has a master plan that we do not always understand. It is hard to not question his judgement sometimes, but we must always continue to have the faith to know that He does not make mistakes. We will certainly continue to pray for you and your family and for God to give you peace and comfort.
And that is a big
Well, today my son had a basketball game. I told DW that I would bypass going to the game (which I NEVER do) and instead go pick up DD at E3 day (something that our local school system put on this morning). I had seen DS's team play the team they were playing today earlier this year in a tournament and didn't like what I saw, especially from their coach and a couple of their "supporters." You talk about poorly coached and overly physical, that pretty much describes the team (they are literally the no blood, no foul kind of team, and unfortunately their coach doesn't know any other way). Well, as I'm sitting in line to pick up DD, my wife called me and said that the other team's coach AND a parent had been thrown out of the gym and that everything was pretty helter skelter at the moment. First, I'm glad that I wasn't there to see it; second, both of those folks had signed the "behavior contract" at the beginning of the season, and the contract even gave them the consequences for poor behavior at games. Sad, but I could feel it coming based on what I saw in the previous game. Yeah, DS's team won, but according to him, it wasn't a fun win and he was plenty scared when all of the crapola was going down. Not fun times at all. Hope they are banned for the duration that their kids are in the league.
Until this year we had not had any dealings with youth sports at it finest. We had always played in the younger age groups where they dont even keep score and everyone gets a turn. This year we have seen the ugly side of it all

I have learned from my aunt in CA that my grandmother's surgery for her hip may not even happen, they just don't know. At this time the risk is way too high. She has suffered a heart attack, and her troponin levels need to stabalize and come back down again (not sure what that is, but ok). She remains in extreme pain, and is highly medicated. No one is sure whether or not the attack came when she fell or afterward. Sigh. Everyone out there is very sad and distressed seeing her that way because she was her jovial old self just a week ago for her birthday. I'm just very thankful that we saw her in December while we were out there.
Christopher this is never an easy position for your family to be in, and I am very sorry to hear this. When you posted last night that her enzymes were elevated I was affraid that this was going to be what you were going to post next. We will be praying for her and the whole family. You guys have got so much on your plates right now. I wish that there was more that I could do than pray!
Podcast has been edited and turned into the webmaster for final approval!!!!
I am really looking forward to hearing what you guys did! One of these days I might even like to participate!!
Our grandson has been diagnosed with Rotavirus, a virus that causes vomiting, diarrhea and, in his case, a high fever. He has been on an IV for 24 hours and has been pretty miserable. It seems like he may be turning the corner but it could still be a little too early to be sure.
Thanks, Chris!![]()
Mike, I hope that your grandson is starting to get better...
