Our grandson was discharged from the hospital earlier this afternoon! :cool1:
That Rotavirus really had him miserable for a few days but he seems to be over it now. Boy, I wish we could take him to Disney but that's not in the cards for awhile. He has a new sister coming along anytime during the next few weeks. Maybe in a year or two.

i dont come down to florida from your direction but google never works for me, i guess they assume im going to drive the speed limit.:lmao: i drive 1100 miles one way and it takes us 16 1/2 hours and were coming out of the northeast. google tells me 18 hours.

try map24.com . They have a spot where it asks you how much over the posted limit you do on, interstates, highways, and in town and it calculates the travel times based on your speeds.

:cool1::banana::woohoo: I posted this on facebook last night but I thought I would come here and bring a ray of friggin sunshine with me!!! Went to dinner with my wife for an early birthday dinner since she will be deployed to Atlanta for my birthday. Got up to go the the bathroom and when I came back I opened my menu to find that someone had left some travel paperwork in thier menu. Upon further review I noticed my name on it. MY WIFE BOOKED AND PAID FOR IN FULL OUR WDW PORTION OF OUR OCTOBER TRIP!!!! "Happy Birthday" she says!! I almost broke down in tears.....ok I DID BREAK DOWN. What an awesome wife. I am paying off the Cruise portion slowly but surely and here she goes and pays off the World portion of it. Staying at the Carribean Beach Resort for 5 nights with 6 days of park hoppers and the magic your way plus dining plan.:cool1::worship::worship::worship:

Very nice!

Hey guys

I woke up to a positive message from my cousin regarding my grandmother. At least, as positive as possible considering her situation. She was able to have her surgery last night. When he wrote, he said she'd been out of surgery for about 2 1/2 hours and was in stable condition. Woo hoo. But the doctors are still very concerned, and watching her very closely. The next 24-48 hours are critical apparently. They (the family) aren't sure what comes next, but they're all watching and waiting.

Hope everything continues to go well and it eases her pain.

Great news, too bad he had to go through it but I'm glad he's in good spirits now.

That's a positive. Hoping for continued good things.

I'm in as soon as I hit "Post" on this response. It will be interesting to see what this year's Jayhawks do in the tournament. It's been a tumultuous year for these guys, but they are capable of playing some truly beautiful basketball.

Podcast sounds great. Looking forward to the next episode and hope that I'll be able to participate.

Glad he's home and doing well.

I wanted to get some of your opinions on a doll we are considering for our twin DD's. I know shopping isn't the manliest of subjects but I wanted opinions that strayed from considering the cuteness factor. :rolleyes1

Have any of you purchased the My Disney Girl for your daughters? If you have what are you thoughts. If you went with an alternative what one did you choose?

We are taking a quick trip in May before our trip in November for their 6th birthdays and wanted to surprise them with a doll of some kind.

Thanks for the help.
We went to the Tea Party at the GF on my DD (4) Make-A-Wish trip and she received the My Disney Girl doll there. She loves it! I don't know what price range you are looking for but I know quite a few people who have bought their daughters American Girl dolls. You are starting around $100 with those.

Here is the My Disney Girl....

Excellent! Hang in there, Christopher! Still praying

Aaron, you did an AMAZING job as moderator! Not thrilled with how I sounded, but it was still fun!

And speaking of AMAZING, if you need a break from the Oscar coverage, please join Captain Oblivious and I on facebook to chat about tonight's AMAZING RACE :happytv:

Ouch! But don't you have anything better to do tonight, like finishing your trip report? :lmao:

Got to make my Live phone call ressies for some extras today:cool1:

- I got the ever so important noon haircut at The Harmony Barber Shop, for my son and I :goodvibes

- The AAA Parade Viewing is no longer going on:confused3

- Got 1st AAA Storybook time for the day at 10am

Until my wife says she would like to do something else or if they offer something new, I think all ressies are in place for our next trip:banana:

If I get out that way I'll be sure to let you know. It would be great to add at least one other Dad besides Barry to my "official meetup" list. (no offense Barry).
meh. Sometimes I'm not even that excited to meet up with me.:confused3

Wow.. your list would be Barry and me? I wouldn't go around announcing that. :sad2:
You should get it made into a t-shirt!

Thankfully we don't have any health problems around here, but my bathroom is in shambles. DW bought a new faucet/shower for the bathtub to match the new sink we put in a few weeks ago. I'm usually a fairly handy guy, but this project kicked my Peanut Butter. 4 trips to the hardware store, cutting pipes, soldering, cussing....and it's still not done. :headache:
Thinking I'm going to bite the bullet and call a plumber on this one. :sad2::sad1:

I hear you, anything in the house that has to do with water, seems always gets the best of me, I can fix almost anything except plumbing (plus the smell:scared1:):confused3. Where's Dave when you need him:confused3:lmao:

We went with the princess and me doll for our daughter. She loves them! She has the Tiana and Belle dolls along with a dress that she can wear that matches Bell and night gowns and robes for both dolls. I can't say anything about the Disney Girl doll as this is the first I've heard of them.

BigTex - I just picked up the D90 myself. Had a D50 for a while, but the D90 blows it away. Amazon.com has a deal right now that if you buy a kit or the camera body you can get some $$ off of a Nikon Lens to go with it. I ended up doing just the camera body with the Nikon 18-200 VRII lens. I'm not disappointed!
I'm currently using a D50. What about the D90 do you like so much better? Would I have any issues using any of my D50 lenses with the D90? (Not really planning on upgrading any time soon, but wondering if I should be thinking about it down the road).

A NEMESIS :cool1: Strictly within the Big East though. After all that is the only conference where they play football on a basketball court.
Fixed your post for you there :duck:

I just had a thought about the theme music for the DisDad's podcast. Since Goofy is the mascot, how about some voice over from the Goofy sports instructional cartoons. Just a thought.

I read this post to my DW. She wanted me to inform you she hung a room worth of drywall in our basement while pregnant. :rolleyes1

I am NOT a handy guy, which probably explains why she had to frame & build a basement room without help...:sad2:
