Done. Really sorry to hear about this.

Question about the podcast. I read in previous posts about a skype podcast, but I don't have a webcam. Do you need skype or can I join up just by using my microphone?? I really would like to take part, but DW was sick as a dog last night with a high fever and I just couldn't make it. Let me know, and if I need to get a webcam, or even download skype, then I'll see what I can do for a cheap cam this weekend and, if needed, will work on getting skype downloaded and running. Hope ya'll have a great weekend. It was one more tough day at school today (one of the toughest in recent memory), so you better believe that I'm gonna enjoy it.

No cam needed. We figured we would save the scary part of seeing each others ugly mugs for face to face Disdads meets. You just need to go to www.skype.com and d/l skype you can do audio calls from there. Would love to hear you on there.

Stopher....hope things settle down in your life soon. I'll say something to the big guy upstairs on your account as I've been talking to him much lately as well.

My Uncle, at age 53, died of a Heart Attack today while shoveling snow out of his mother's driveway. And two weeks ago, my sister attempted to take her own life (and thankfully didn't succeed). She's been battling an addiction to pain medications for 6 years and was trying to take the easy way out.

Your prayers would be much appreciated as our family has been asking a lot of questions from Him lately as to why these things are happening.

Thanks in advance....

Scott

:cool1::banana::woohoo: I posted this on facebook last night but I thought I would come here and bring a ray of friggin sunshine with me!!! Went to dinner with my wife for an early birthday dinner since she will be deployed to Atlanta for my birthday. Got up to go the the bathroom and when I came back I opened my menu to find that someone had left some travel paperwork in thier menu. Upon further review I noticed my name on it. MY WIFE BOOKED AND PAID FOR IN FULL OUR WDW PORTION OF OUR OCTOBER TRIP!!!! "Happy Birthday" she says!! I almost broke down in tears.....ok I DID BREAK DOWN. What an awesome wife. I am paying off the Cruise portion slowly but surely and here she goes and pays off the World portion of it. Staying at the Carribean Beach Resort for 5 nights with 6 days of park hoppers and the magic your way plus dining plan.:cool1::worship::worship::worship:

I am a man of faith, certainly....and I always thought there would be nothing that could shake it. Unfortunately, I've found myself questioning it. I just feel robbed of a man who has been so a part of shaping my life at such a young age.

Lord, please give us all the strength to overcome!

edit: It is not my intention to bring "down" this thread with the bad news...I just know you are all a bunch of genuine guys that can provide great support and it is much appreciated! Thanks.

Congrats, Matt! What a great gift! :cool1:

Actually, our family can use some prayers. Our grandson (1 1/2 yo) started vomiting on Thursday. Yesterday, he had a 104 fever with it so off to the hospital they went, as per the doc. They gave him some fever reducing meds and nausea meds and sent him home. After a few hour nap, he had another fever and within an hour or so it was up to 105.5! Back to the hospital. We went over and they gave him 3 bags of saline water within a few hours. Still no urine (a whole day of none), only diarrhea, and the fever started to climb again. They put him in the ped unit for an overnight visit. We haven't heard anything since 11:00 PM so we're hopeful he's doing better. We'll be heading over soon.

Check your PM and facebook.

On a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH lighter note, I think that the Hoyas could use some prayers today. They're stinking up the joint against Syracuse so far today...

GO HOYAS!

And that is a big :thumbsup2

Well, today my son had a basketball game. I told DW that I would bypass going to the game (which I NEVER do) and instead go pick up DD at E3 day (something that our local school system put on this morning). I had seen DS's team play the team they were playing today earlier this year in a tournament and didn't like what I saw, especially from their coach and a couple of their "supporters." You talk about poorly coached and overly physical, that pretty much describes the team (they are literally the no blood, no foul kind of team, and unfortunately their coach doesn't know any other way). Well, as I'm sitting in line to pick up DD, my wife called me and said that the other team's coach AND a parent had been thrown out of the gym and that everything was pretty helter skelter at the moment. First, I'm glad that I wasn't there to see it; second, both of those folks had signed the "behavior contract" at the beginning of the season, and the contract even gave them the consequences for poor behavior at games. Sad, but I could feel it coming based on what I saw in the previous game. Yeah, DS's team won, but according to him, it wasn't a fun win and he was plenty scared when all of the crapola was going down. Not fun times at all. Hope they are banned for the duration that their kids are in the league.

I have learned from my aunt in CA that my grandmother's surgery for her hip may not even happen, they just don't know. At this time the risk is way too high. She has suffered a heart attack, and her troponin levels need to stabalize and come back down again (not sure what that is, but ok). She remains in extreme pain, and is highly medicated. No one is sure whether or not the attack came when she fell or afterward. Sigh. Everyone out there is very sad and distressed seeing her that way because she was her jovial old self just a week ago for her birthday. I'm just very thankful that we saw her in December while we were out there.

The Good News:
Today a buddy of mine and I are going to start a 5 gallon batch of coffee stout!:cool1:I went to my local brew store and another frequent customer was there with a mulberry mead he had made which tasted pretty good. I bought my supplies (grains, syrup, hops, and yeast) and came home. :woohoo:Tonight I will go to my friends house and make the new brew (and drink the last of the bourbon porter I made) then watch the UFC event tonight!:yay:

The Bad News:
When I got home from the brew shop I started dragging out all my brew equipment. When I got to my 6.5 gallon carboy (basically a 6.5 gallon glass jug) I found that it had a crack on the side near the bottom.:sad2: It's not a huge deal because I planned on making this a 2 stage fermentation and will start out with a brew bucket for the 1st stage, but now I have to get a new carboy. ugg!

But I still get to make beer!:woohoo:

Our grandson has been diagnosed with Rotavirus, a virus that causes vomiting, diarrhea and, in his case, a high fever. He has been on an IV for 24 hours and has been pretty miserable. It seems like he may be turning the corner but it could still be a little too early to be sure.

Thanks, Chris! :thumbsup2

Oh crap. My son went through this 8 years ago and was in the hospital for 2 days. Not fun times at all. Rota is some tough stuff. Ya'll hang in there. Sending up prayers and positive thoughts.

Gentlemen, you are all taking a beating lately. Praying for some R&R for you all.
