Hello to all my fellow DIS Dads! Sorry haven't been on here in a while. Been dealing with a bulging disc in my neck and sitting at a computer all day keeps it aggravated. Makes it real tough when that is what you do all day at work. After about three weeks I'm finally getting to the point where I can get a decent nights sleep without waking up every couple hours. Very little personal time on the computer since heat and ice and as much rest as possible has been the treatment when I get home.

Only 195 days until our Post-Christmas trip. Thought I had a few more days to finish planning meals and such until I realized you can now use online reservation for ADRs and due to a glitch, I can start booking them in only 5 more days instead of the 15 I thought I had. Never used any of the dining plans before, but looks like we will be doing the DDP this time around.

Plan to start a PTR maybe later today. I have been ninja reading along with some of the DIS Dad's reports and enjoying them very much. Hope to be able to spend more time in here from now on.

In case I am not back on the DIS boards before Sunday....HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all of the DIS Dad's! You guys are the best! God Bless!

I agree with Nathan... we've done the QSDP for the last 2 years and has worked out well. You're not tied down to a specific time and place... but there are times when it would have been nice to have a someone serve a meal.

I would love it if they were a bit more flexible with it. The first time we went they had an option to trade in a table service credit for a quick service and snacks. Even if you had to decide before your trip it would be great if you had a set number of snacks, and then a certain number of credits to allot to how you wanted to dine; 1 credit for quick service, 2 for sit down, and 4 for signature.

Back at ya!

Fed: You'll be happy to know your friends were hard at work yesterday. We saw at least 12 cars pulled over between Jacksonville and Brunswick, mostly in clusters of 2 or 3.

Had to have been Camden County....yup, those are my boys...but you weren't exactly what they were looking for;)

Hey man, glad you're feeling a little better anyway...hope you get healed up soon!!!

I was still in high school!
We'll go see it, but I'm deciding if we want to see it in 3D or at the local drive-in. Yeah, probably both!

Probably wait and see it next week....maybe 2.

Don't like the Opening weekend for anything.

Last tiem wew went to see an opening weekend movie was for Charle and the Chocolate Factory.

Had to sit in the front row...man they should install Planetarium seats for people who have to sit up there... I'm a back row guy myself.

When TS1 came out, I WAS a kid.:lmao: Well, a 14 year old kid anyway and in all honesty I still act like I'm a kid.;)

Now I've got 1 of my own to grow up on TS3!:woohoo:

When TS1 came out i was in 6th grade. Wow, that was a long time ago.

Hey there Guys.

So I thought I'd try to re-cap:

Toy Story 3: Definitely going, but not opening week. Maybe around July 1 once the crowds die down a bit. The whole family is looking forward to it. :cool1:

Toy Story 1:I would have been 22, still in college when this came out. I know I'm officially declaring myself a geek, but I remember going to the theater with a bunch of classmates because of the computer graphics that were used. (we were all Comp Engineering students). :surfweb:

New Dads: :welcome:

Finally, I gotta throw this out as we've had a few new members join, but what is the "prize" going to be for #500? :confused3 If I remember correctly #400 had to buy each DisDad a beer. (Chris I'm coming to visit one day....) :rotfl2:

Happy to have you here! You are member # 472! :thumbsup2

Thanks for making me official! I also want to thank you guys for all the feedback on Mission Space. I'm gonna go with your advice and see if DS10 would like to try the Green Side and Maybe DS8 also but I will not push! If they don't try MS I know that means will probably just ride Test Track 3 or 4 times! Everyone in the Family loves that ride.

Dole Whips for ALL the Dads:confused3:lmao:

I went to the Cardinals game last night (2-1 loss to Seattle) with a friend who went to Disneyworld last week for his Honeymoon.:thumbsup2 He said while he doesn't share my level of enthusiasm for WDW, he does plan to go back again, probably within 2 years.:cool1: Also, (and more for Stopher 'cause he knows these things), he said Mickey's toon town is going away in favor of Fantasyland Expansion? :confused3

and, for tomorrow at 9 a.m. central time: U.S.A.! U.S.A.!

Glad I was member #464. I'd hate to be on the hook for 500 dole whips. Although I've never tried one I'm sure at Disney prices that would be some serious jack!!

Don't worry I plan on trying a dole whip this trip. Not sure I'm willing to stick my head under the machine though. But.. I do believe that would be one priceless pic to have. Could you imagine the look on people's faces as you're doing it. That would be priceless. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Man you guys move fast!!!

I have to answer a few questions Mission Space, believe it or not I have never enjoyed this ride, but will this time.

Toy story 3 will be next week, at the IMAX theater by the MN Zoo while on vacation, never opening weeked for movies for me.

Hit the mall of america for the millionth time today with the kiddos, took a really great behind the scenes tour for Underwater Adventures. Get last day off before the worst works days, the days leading up to vacation that begins next Wednesday. going to be a great week of sitting at home and doing nothing with the family, there is no Honey-Do list for this vacation

I was also stupid enough to add my last 3 courses before i complete my college graduation requirements, but hey I will be able to celebrate my completion of my degree before my trip to the world in Sept. Cannot beat that i say.

Welcome to all the new dads!!!!!!!!! It is so good to know that I am not the only Disney Obsesed Dad out there.

Hey guys, i hope that this link works. Last night the DA of our County presented us a check to replace our Police K9 officcer that recently passed away of cancer. He was a great assest to our communtiy and is missed very much. The money came from the drug forfiture money from the arrests in the county. I am at the end of the video briefly. I am the guy with the light green shirt.

The link worked! Glad to hear you're getting a new K-9 officer. As a retired SAR K-9 Handler, I definitely know the value of dogs. They are not only great friends, but tremendous assets. My Casey will be turning 14 in a couple weeks and I dread the thought of losing him. :thumbsup2

Cool Game for the Wii...

Epic Mickey

I'm just glad they finally set a release time (they have been releasing "artist concept" pictures for over a year; there is a game series for PS2 called Kingdom Hearts that featured Mickey and the "Bosses" at the ends of the levels were various Disney villains. I didn't find out about it until after we had bought our Wii and almost bought a PS2 off Craigslist just to play it.

Forgot to include my MS review. I love the ride :cool1: The way it makes you feel like you are really preparing to go into space is way cool. Never experienced the green side... only orange. My DD first tried MS last year when she was 6... she liked it... but not overly thrilled. She couldn't reach the buttons on the console and when it was her turn to press the button she started freaking out... "DADDY! I can't reach it!! We're going to crash!!!!" :rotfl: I tried soooo hard not to laugh out loud... but I was able to reach over and press the button for her and saved the day :woohoo::hug: Good times! This year, we rode it several time and she was able to get to the buttons with no problems :thumbsup2 It's one of our must-do rides when we visit Epcot now.
