Hi All

We are still more than 8 weeks from getting down to the World and DW and I have already had our first "discussion" regarding some of the rides.

DW loves most rides but there are 2 she will not ride the Teacups and Mission Space. I had mentioned to her that I was looking forward to DS10 being able to go on more rides with me this time since last time we went he was only 7. DW stated in no uncertain terms that she would be glad also but she wanted me to promise not to take him on the Orange side of Mission Space. Let me preface this comment and say I would never force my kids to ride anything they didn't want to but I also wouldn't stop them if they were interested in riding something like MS. Since I have been on it and really like it I told her that I thought he would be fine and that is where the "discussing" began.:chat:

She mentioned the fact that it is the only ride in all of WDW that has Barf Bags. She also went on to the boards and showed me all the negative experiences that other people had reported on.

I told her I was going to Poll you Dad's out there and try and get a ruling. What do you think and have any of you had experience taking your Kids on MS? Let me know and Thanks!

I was watching Chile vs. Hondorus for the World Cup, and the announcer said the game was on Armed Forces Network. Hopefully you had a chance to watch some of the game, Fed!

I saw Toy Story 1 in the theater with my older brother on a whim on a school night. He had to drive, since i wasn't yet 16, but I was still in High School.

for UncleScrooge_0707? Well, I liked Duck Tales a Lot as an afternoon cartoon, and I have (had) an uncle scrooge money clip I bought on my first WDW vacation. 0707? birthdate... (but you have to guess which is the month, and which is the date. :rotfl2:)

Oh yeah, we're getting all of them--and in the middle of the day, too, which is awesome...

We let out a cheer everytime they mention us....:thumbsup2

I just introduced my kids to Duck Tales about a week ago. I noticed that the local library had a lot of them on DVD. They loved it! But the down side is that I've had that song stuck in my head ever since. "Duck Tales- woo-ooo"!

I've heard enough horror stories about the orange side not to force anyone to do that! Some of my extended family members were done for the rest of the day after trying it. I did the green side and thought it was fun, actually. It basically feels like the Star Tours ride.

Thanks Captain!:thumbsup2 I had forgotten my wife also doesn't want to go on Star Tours but she was more then Happy to let my DS and I ride that last time we were there.

Fed, voting is open on the Dec trip thread to pick events. When you have a chance check it out:woohoo:

Tough call on MS. I struggle with any ride where I'm in a moving seat and looking at a screen... now being out in the open and moving fast (like TT or coasters) I can do all day. Green left me feeling a little green, so I doubt I'll work up the stomach to try Orange. Kind of like Captain Oblivious said, it is similar to Star Tours on the green side, and I react in similar  fashion to the 2. If he did OK there, Green side on MS should be fine and if he has no ill effects, Orange could be a possibility I guess.

***This is pure humor people...chuckle, chuckle...no teenagers were injured in the asking of this question:rotfl2:

Yet. :scared1:

Well alright, I am 39 days and counting from our family trip to DW!!!! I'm still debating on whether or not to get the disney dining plan. Is it truely worth it? We are going to be a party of 8 and the DW's friends are also coming. The problem is we'll be staying on DW property while her friends (party of 5) will not. So trying to plan any meals is difficult. What do you'll think? Any suggestions?

Well...I'd say if DS wants to ride Orange then take him on...if he doesn't then go Green...or neither.

I've rode MS once...with SIL back in 2007...DS10 was DS7 at the time and was too short...DS15 was DS12...and did not want any part of it Orange nor Green.

I liked the ride...though my screen seemed a little distorted or image was very irregular...that made me feel weird...but I don't think the G's had anything to do with that....cause I got the feeling before we went into motion. Must be something with the magnification on the screen and my astigmatism.:confused3

My DS10 mentioned wanting to ride it so I told him I'd take him on. DW and DS15 will probably sit out.

I did the orange side in October and thought it had been toned down a bit since our previous coupla trips.

I had the QSDP last year and felt I "saved" money vs paying at the counter.

This way you don't have to "plan" any meals...you just eat when you get hungry at a counter service location. There are good options at each park.

You get 2 Counter Service Credits and 2 Snack Credits per person per night of your stay...plus everyone gets a refillable mug...which was handy.

I have free dining this year and got the standard DDP...which I'm excited to try...but not too thrilled about having to be a location X at a certain time to eat at a table service location.

I liked the freedom of the QSDP...and will probably do that when I'm paying for it. :thumbsup2

New Subject. Probably off topic… but new. ;)

My family is leaving this weekend to head up to Washington DC for a spell. It ain’t Disney, but my wife has never been there and our boy is the perfect age to actually get something useful out of the trip. My question for y’all is: has anyone been up that way lately, and what are some of the less obvious things I should try to get into while I’m in the area. :scratchin

One other thing I forgot to mention about D.C. is to reserve tickets for the Washington Monument online if you want to go to the top. They're given out first-come, first-serve at the window, but those go extremely quickly first thing in the morning. My family got there at 11:30 a.m. one Saturday and they were sold out. You can spend a few bucks on the National Park Service website to reserve tickets and then pick them up when you arrive.

:worship:This is wise advice, especially with your trip so close. It might be hard to get the ADR's you'd want now.

Well here's the thing. I've made reservations already for a few restuarants (T-rex, Mickey's Buffet, and at POR) But those are really probably the only times we'll have a table service meal. BTY, who enjoys the boardwalk? I'm thinking about going there one of the nights to check it out.

Oh, did anyone do the webinar for the DVC in the recent weeks? I was supposed to see it yesterday, but I forgot all about it. They even sent a text on my cell reminding and I still forgot. :confused3

A colleague and I were just discussing Mission Space at lunch today. Weird that it's brought up here around the same time... :upsidedow

I'm an ORANGE kind of guy. :thumbsup2
