I should start a business helping people plan their trips to The World! :woohoo: I've been trying to think of some kind of business to start. :cool2:

A few years back, someone was teaching a trip planning class at our local community college. It was one of those adult evening classes that last a few weeks. I don't know if it's still offered or not but I had considered trying to do something like that, too.

Here's a pic of the LOTR themed cake I did. I struggled with this one a bit but in the end I liked it. I ended up going with a "shire" based theme with a hobbit hole, since the figures we had were Bilbo, Frodo & Sam. He really liked though, which was really all that mattered - so I'm happy. It was actually kind of neat, because we didn't have much to decorate with like with Star Wars, Spiderman etc, just the 3 hard cover books and 3 DVD boxes. So I borrowed a very cool map of Middle Earth from one our scouting friends and some other items. He knew those items were on loan and asked his mom yesterday morning, very forlorn-like... "are the figures on the cake borrowed too?" Apparently he did a dance for joy when she told him that no, the figures were his...she'd found them on eBay. He was ecstatic... then even more so when he opened up his gifts from us and found a complete set (unopened) of LOTR Return of the King trading cards, a Legolas action figure and his own set of 4 Maps of Middle Earth. Definitely made up for having had to borrow a few decorations!

Great cake! I've probably read the books about a half dozen times and I've seen the movies a few times. "Speak Friend and Enter"!

That is strange!

I was talking to one of the guys at work who's wife does most of the outfits for local schools, pop warner, cheerleading, dance teams, and stuff for local companies, If she would be able to do polo shirts, t-shirts, hats etc with a logo, he said yes.

Should I look further into this? :confused3

I would. That's really strange about Threadsmith. So far, I can't find anything more about it. Maybe it's a very small operation and the person that runs it is having medical problems or something.

I humbly ask admittance to the Disney Dad’s Club. (Thank you sir may I have another?) My bona fides you may ask? I am a single dad raising a 15 soon to be 16 YO daughter. I can answer yes to multiple questions on the first post. Numerous trips to Disney including one next weekend with daughter and 6 of her girlfriends. Pray for me please. That alone should qualify me for membership and possibly a special commendation. If you are interested, the pre-trip stuff and eventual trip report are/will be on the DVC Boards at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2365333.

I hope you let me in and I can add the Dad’s Club emblem to my sig. Looking forward to opening a cold one or having a cocktail and discussing Disney Man Law.

Welcome to the club!

"humbly ask"? You'll soon learn there is no "humble" in here! Welcome to the club. I've started reading your PTR. We'll not only pray for you, but we'll alert the DIS Dad's Club Extraction Team. They swoop in in black helicopters and pull fellow dads out of situations where the estrogen levels reach dangerous concentrations. The Dad is then transported to a "safe house" where large HDTVs show numerous sporting events and assorted beverages are available. Your situation clearly qualifies. Good luck, young man.:thumbsup2

I believe that the safehouse is located somewhere close by to the Boardwalk. (something like ERPM or close to that).

CJ9200: All I can say is you inspire me. I have a hard enough time dealing with my 3 girls :scared1::scared1::scared1:, I could only imagine adding an additional 3. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Hope everyone enjoyed the games yesterday, I only hope that the Pack get sent packing (as a Bears fan) but I must admit I enjoy watching Rodgers.

I salute you sir! Looking forward to the trip report if you survive.

We had some friends over tonight for dinner. Their DD is the same age as our middle DD... they go to school together. Anyway, they are going to The World the same time we are in May! So, they came over so we could talk about the trip. They have never been before and we helped them map out some of their trip. They had a ton of questions. We picked some TS meals to eat together and some days to spend together in the parks.

While we were discussing which days to go to which parks the Dad said, "This is really confusing. It's giving me a headache!" I think they were a little overwhelmed. They did decide on the parks and their meals, so they can make their ADRs. We had a lot of fun telling stories from when we've been before and it was nice to talk about the trip.

I thought the same thing on Friday, one of my Team Leads put in a vacation request so he could go to WDW in April. Within 15 minutes I had him convinced to stay on site instead of the hotel his wife found "just outside the gate!", explained the entire resort transportation system, and had him considering buying annual passes.

Me too. I am so fed up with work right now, and so thrilled to officially be on vacation now for 2 weeks. I've been thinking through several options for months now. Hopefully this spring or summer I can make one of them happen.

Have a great time on vacation! If you come up with one you can franchise we've got a lot of major markets covered here on the board.

The wife and I leave for WDW tomorrow morning and the kids are staying home. Do I feel guilty? Nope. AND the wife heads home next Saturday and I get to stay for another 5 days. Do I feel quilty? Nope. :thumbsup2

Have a great trip, enjoy being a kid...without the kids.

Sorry I have not been on a lot lately. A lot of things going on here and hopefully the dust will settle soon and then I can get back here more again!

Hope things continue to improve Steve, thinking and praying for you and the family.

Thank you all for the hearty welcome. I clink my glass to yours. So if I got this right, the beacon to alert the extraction team is on the top of the roof of the ESPN Club? That way when the team comes in, we can have a round or two before I am whisked away.

If the ESPN club exit is blocked, there is a tunnel under the Ale and Compass Lounge at the Yacht Club. You know its a man zone when the breakfast menu consists of nothing but alcohol beverages.

The point of no return escape route is in It's a Small World. Admit it, you've always wondered where that track that goes off to the right goes:rolleyes1.

Welcome to the club. I like the Animal House reference, but I don't think the paddle is a part of the initiation - yet. :thumbsup2 As for a spanking ... How 'bout them Cowboys!!! :scared1:

What a game, huh? It was almost too sad to watch.

The fact that it was Dallas makes it 100 times worse...It would have been nice if my Eagles had at least put up a fight. Or even shown a pulse. I would have settled for that. :badpc:

That's a last resort. Pass through the curtain, and you suddenly find yourself being fitted with the Tinkerbell outfit for Wishes that night.:scared1:

Stopher, Have a great trip. You're leaving just as I'm invading Indy! :rotfl:

Thanks! Perhaps another time you'll let me know when you're coming to town and we can meet up... that goes for any of you who travel and happen to include Indy on your intinerary.

The bags are packed. The kids are in bed... one more sleep til the fun begins!!! :woohoo: I'll say hey to Goofy for you all!

Do you really get any sleep the night before you leave? :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Have a great trip!

Speaking of talent has anyone seen Miyuki Japanese Candy in Epcot. The animals she makes out of candy are so detailed it's amazing. If you go get there a few minutes early to be up front, if she picks you she will make you any animal, she picked us and my wife said giraffe, she made it in about 2-3 minutes detailed to perfection and put it on a lollipop stick wrapped and gave it to my son. I was impressed:goodvibes

I can tell you I WILL! I'm exhausted. DW never likes to come home from any trip to a messy house... I've been working my butt off all afternoon & evening (so has she) and finishing up the packing. I am soooo ready for bed. Just a couple more things to monitor and then off to bed I go.

I'll try to get a "LIVE" TR started maybe tomorrow night or Tuesday... I did one that way when the boys and I went down for Star Wars Weekends this past May (see my signature), and I'll try one again...but as Mary Poppins might say, it's a pie-crust promise, easily made, easily broken. We'll see guys... night all - take care.
