Have a great time Don!:thumbsup2

Stopher you have a good time too, I will not be going next weekend MIL is not up for walking much and didn't like the idea of driving a little rascle.:confused3

Don the new thread is fresh!!! I love it I knew you were the guy to take charge.:thumbsup2

Stopher....that cake rocks man..I have no such talent:confused3

Welcome to all the new dads!!:wizard:

So, I get this certificate for 15% off a bass fishing excursion if I take one during my trip...hmmm, intriguing...February Bass fishing is "unpredictable" in Florida, but I might have to take them up on this one:goodvibes

That's an awesome cake! But where's the hidden Mickey? :thumbsup2

just squint a little bit at the hobbit hole and cross your eyes a little bit and then you can kinda see one with the door and windows - honestly I didn't even think of doing one... maybe for the next one

Welcome to all of the new Dads! I enjoy seeing new members!!!

Sorry I have not been on a lot lately. A lot of things going on here and hopefully the dust will settle soon and then I can get back here more again!

Oh maaannnnn! bummer dude. Oh well. I can understand, even if I don't like it. Now you really need to find your way down there in December.

Oh, yeah! Now I see it! ;-)

Does anyone have any good Disney apps they can recommend? I just got an iphone. I put a WDW wait times one on that I like (can get a Disney fix by checking the live updated wait times from home). Any other recommendations?

Thanks, but I wouldn't really call it talent - more like, years of playing. When I was a kid my brother and I would play in the backyard with our army men and the hose in the mud. I would sculpt all kinds of cool mesas, plateaus, valleys and caves for them to hide out in. This was kind of the same thing. Cut some cake, play with it, shape it and see what I could do... then, just like back then, cover whatever I did with frosting (in lieu of mud). After it was all said and done, we'd blow them up with firecrackers and flood out the place - only to do it again another time! And now, years later, I've shown my boys the joys of blowing up army men! We've made lots of cool bunkers and such with sticks and twigs on the small hill behind our yard. It's pretty cool watching them come up with their own scenarios and stuff too. My 11 yo had fun strapping some on to bottle rockets last summer and watching for where they'd land again... (For those of you in the military - I salute you and your service - but it's still pretty cool to blow the little guys up).

Oh yeah, definitely, do the fishing. You know you want to, and what's better than doing so with a discount! :rolleyes1

There is an app offered by this site called e-ticket. There is a link on the main page to check it out. It costs 5.99 but by the reviews seems well worth it. I don't have it myself, no iphone.

Welcome to all the new Dads!!

Great cake stopher, good job!

Take the fishing trip Fed, you know you want to.:lmao:

For all that are going in the next few days, have a great trip. Looking at the long range forecast it seems that things are looking like they are warming up in the next couple of weeks. Hey, the way I see it, any day in Disney is better than a day at work. :lmao:

I had a big sand spot as a kid. You just brought back lots of memories... good times. :thumbsup2 Unfortunately my girls don't like to play in the dirt.

stopher- cake is awesome, your kids are lucky to have a dad who can make a custom cake for them, it means alot more than getting one from the bakery. Have a Great trip and let us in on any happenings going on at WDW!

hes going to be in the same club as dd. shes 16 and has been the 20 times. i love when people say they are to young? thats the best time to take them, when there young. dd has a great time when we go and i dont see when see will stop going but the look on her face now to the mouse isnt the same as it was when she was 2-3 years old.

We already had a trip planned when we got our daughter placed with us an newborn foster child. She was 7 weeks old during her first trip. And it was totally worth it!

I've been following along on Facebook. Hopefully everything will get back to normal soon!

Yeah, lots of memories came back reading this. Growing up on a farm with very little supervision led to many hours of toy interrogation, torture and destruction. Sid from Toy Story had nothing on me! My brother and I even built our own bottle rocket launcher/bazooka complete with sight. It's amazing I turned out as well adjusted as I did. :confused3

This is odd. www.threadsmith.com - the site that MiJo found for embroidering custom logos - has shut down for a few months. According to their website "Our goal is to be back online and fulfilling your embroidery needs within a few short months"

So if you had planned on getting the Dis Dads Club logo embroidered onto something, you're going to have to wait until Spring.

What kind of company can just shutdown for 3 months? I realize redeveloping a website is not easy, but most places do it on test servers and shutdown for a weekend at the most to install it on the live machines. Very weird...:confused3:confused3

That is strange!

I was talking to one of the guys at work who's wife does most of the outfits for local schools, pop warner, cheerleading, dance teams, and stuff for local companies, If she would be able to do polo shirts, t-shirts, hats etc with a logo, he said yes.

Should I look further into this? :confused3

I humbly ask admittance to the Disney Dad’s Club. (Thank you sir may I have another?) My bona fides you may ask? I am a single dad raising a 15 soon to be 16 YO daughter. I can answer yes to multiple questions on the first post. Numerous trips to Disney including one next weekend with daughter and 6 of her girlfriends. Pray for me please. That alone should qualify me for membership and possibly a special commendation. If you are interested, the pre-trip stuff and eventual trip report are/will be on the DVC Boards at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2365333.

I hope you let me in and I can add the Dad’s Club emblem to my sig. Looking forward to opening a cold one or having a cocktail and discussing Disney Man Law.

Welcome to the club. I like the Animal House reference, but I don't think the paddle is a part of the initiation - yet. :thumbsup2 As for a spanking ... How 'bout them Cowboys!!! :scared1:
