Chris,
Have a great trip!!!
Thanks! The washer/dryer are working hard now so we can pack. There's nothing quite like waiting til the last minute!

But, we know what we need, and honestly have a lot of stuff down there already waiting to be delivered to the resort, so it's not that big of a deal anymore. With 2 lockers stuffed with items to make our vacations easier & very home like - packing on this end really isn't too bad. All we need to worry about are clothes & something to do read or watch on the plane - and not forget the laptop for working on a live TR... My DD is so very excited - about the packing part

Of course for the trip too - but for her right now it's the packing that's just floating her boat.
We had my son's birthday party last night. It was a sleepover one. His 4 best buds were here. Pizza, cake, Wii games competition, more snow falling outside, presents, candy, watching the RETURN OF THE KING and up til 3 am... what more can you ask for when you're 11?
Here's a pic of the LOTR themed cake I did. I struggled with this one a bit but in the end I liked it. I ended up going with a "shire" based theme with a hobbit hole, since the figures we had were Bilbo, Frodo & Sam. He really liked though, which was really all that mattered - so I'm happy. It was actually kind of neat, because we didn't have much to decorate with like with Star Wars, Spiderman etc, just the 3 hard cover books and 3 DVD boxes. So I borrowed a very cool map of Middle Earth from one our scouting friends and some other items. He knew those items were on loan and asked his mom yesterday morning, very forlorn-like... "are the figures on the cake borrowed too?" Apparently he did a dance for joy when she told him that no, the figures were his...she'd found them on eBay. He was ecstatic... then even more so when he opened up his gifts from us and found a complete set (unopened) of LOTR Return of the King trading cards, a Legolas action figure and his own set of 4 Maps of Middle Earth. Definitely made up for having had to borrow a few decorations!
Additionally I was able to print out a whole bunch of photo images of characters, film scenes and mini-posters that we put up all around the house - and a very cool ring graphic for placemats... he was quite pleased. I tell ya, it's hard to pull stuff out of a hat sometimes, but we pulled it off
