Generational Cohorts are what Baby Boomers, Generation X and etc are called (I didn’t know that until I researched for this poll). Some people really enjoy knowing what generation people fit into and others could care less. I find it interesting what type of world each generation was born into, and the changes they experienced throughout their lifetime. If you don’t know much about the different generational cohorts, here’s some information for you…..

The information above didn’t include the Silent Generation which is a shame - this generation is included in the picture below. Now I’m looking forward to finding out what generation the majority of us are in. So don’t be shy about your age and tell us loud and proud what generational cohort you are part of…….

Looking at the picture below ⬇️, which generation are you in?

* No multiple choice today
* Please post if you agree with the explanation given, in the picture below or info above, for your generation.

For Me……I’m Gen X, because I was born in the 70s. I know the explanation in the picture below explains my DH, myself and others that are my age very well. The information above mentions latchkey kids, which I never was, but a lot of my friends were (I was so jealous that they could go home and do whatever they wanted because they were home alone). All in all, I agree with everything mentioned about us Generation Xers.

I'm a Baby Boomer. I raised two Millennials '87 and 89 and one Gen X '80. I have three beautiful Alpha grandchildren '16, '17 and 2018.

I am on the cusp between Gen X and Millenial. Various definitions shift the birth years slightly. I have heard some argue for a micro generation from 1980 to 1985 called "xenials". Basically, we had analog childhoods and digital adulthood. It is not super clear to me how that much differs from gen x but ok. I certainly identify with Gen x more.

I'm a Gen X with a Gen Z kid.

I think the descriptions are fairly accurate for me, though I do have a couple of Boomer traits thrown in. (Nobody would call an "early adopter" of most tech. ) I consider myself lucky to have grown up when I did!

I was home alone (well, watching my little brother) for an hour or two after school from about 5th grade - but it was a small town and my parents literally worked a few blocks from our house, so I never saw that as scary.

I do think that some of the differences in generations come about because we tend to over-correct for we saw as the problems in our own time.

(I think a lot are due to different technology as well.)

I am a baby boomer. I grew up in a time when our schools were crowded because of our huge age group. I visited my old grade school recently and the class photos along the hallway show exactly how large the baby boomer classes were. My high school graduation class was the largest in school history.

We had a lot of influence on society because we were such a large group.

I have one Millenial and two "xenials" children, and 5 Gen Z grandchildren.

Marie is a Boomer. Vince and Natalie.are Gen X.

I'm Silent Generation. Not so sure about that, ha. Marie would not agree with that.

No idea... I don't pay attention to stuff like this. I hate generalizing people into groups.

What do I get to be if I was born 2 years begire the Boomers started? :confused3

You get to be old, Dan! ;)I'm almost there with ya, though! And it's good to be old, because what is the option?

Gen X here, raised by Greatest Generstion/Silent Generation parents with Boomer siblings, married to a Boomer and raised a Gen Z son. Currently in a job where I manage Millennials. My life runs the gamut of all the mindsets I need to understand and relate to. :grouphug:

Gen X proudly here - fits to a T
Raised a two Millennial although the 2nd was very close to Gen Z and acts more like that
Had a father from the silent generation And a mother that was a baby boomer So that was kind of weird growing up because they both held really different values my father was extremely rigid instructed in his values my mother not so much that clashed quite frequently But that commercial of it’s 10 o’clock do you know where your children are definitely did apply🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m very happy I grew up in an era without Internet Without cell phones Without constant supervision or helicopter parents or any of that kind of thing It’s not so much that I can get away with more which I did it’s just the fact that you got to do more in an interact with people Around you more
Ymmv
I will say I do recall that every classroom was so crowded when I went to school and we had huge graduating classes when I was in high school
That was repeated again with my oldest there was a baby boom when I had my oldest which was in the late 80s and it was something the schools had not dealt with him sometime around me it was issues getting cares it was always issues with everything class sizes signing up for things throughout that child’s whole life because it was such a booming for babies during that time. Something I didn’t experience at all with my second child who was born in the Late 90s

It's pretty easy to figure out Leebee, the year you were born is your category. As far as what you're "suppose" to be like well it is like back in the day when the Zodiac personalities were so popular.
In other words I was an Aquarius wayyyy before I knew I was a "Baby Boomer". :rotfl:

Gen X with millennial kids, 2 of them. I agree the X statement is true. I was babysitting by age 12 including over night stays. My kids are grown awesome adults now and I have a 1 year old grandbaby. I dance to Bon Jovi, Queen, Aerosmith, Prince with him. If you saw my kids Playlist you would think they are X too, lol.

I'm an "early millennial" and feel I identify more with Gen X. There's definitely that group born in the early 80s that gets classed as "millennials" but doesn't fit the mold.
