Not to say it won't work for you, because it very well might - and could be profitable for you. Especially with the way so much real estate in FL is so very depressed right now. If you were able to do so in the near term, you'd be able to pick something up for a song. :)

That's what I was thinking, even if I was able to rent it out 1 week a month, it would pretty much pay the morgage:idea:

Just thought I'd share with you guys... tonight we lost power at 5:40PM. This is actually abnormal for not being hurricane season, so we're thinking it's just a blip and we'll get power soon. Well... an hour goes by and still no power. So... i start dragging out the generator and checking it to be sure it's ready for business. My DW is giving me the old look like "we're not going to need that". Well... 2 hours into the outage I fire up the generator and start running extension cords through the house. Here's the priority items:

- Frig
- Router and Cable modem (for internet)
- 1 light
- TV and cable box
- 1 fan

So... I am here on this board out of necessity... cause I could just STRANGLE our power company right now! :rotfl2: What I really can't stand is the fact that there is NO way to actually speak to someone at the power company. They say 11:00 PM tonight... but I have my doubts :rolleyes1

Even though I've not been on the board long enough to do so, I have the feeling I'm supposed to comment that if you can't do anything else right now, why aren't you working on your TR? (I really hope this post gets lost between now and January 2nd when I get back from WDW, and the DIS Dad's VI board is asking to see my TR. :rotfl2:)

The DW could probably handle ASMo after DVC... I couldn't, but she could. We watched that DVD a few years back, and "grandpa" made cookies in the DVC oven, and i said, "who bakes cookies on vacation?" DW: "i would. those slice-&-bake jobs? Sure. why not?"

Surprise, surprise... we do. And muffins, and cinnamon rolls, and pizza and spaghetti, and grilled steaks, and bratwurst, and burgers, and hot dogs, and grilled chicken, and waffles, and pancakes...

unclescrooge - check out my Triple Whammy TR below in my signature. That is from our January trip with my folks along. It has a lot of trivial nothing in it, but it does have a lot of neat information about the resorts we stayed at and what kinds of things we did throughout our stay that were not just hitting the parks. My family loves WDW - but after the trip we took in January - even my kids feel that where we stayed outshone the theme parks that just happened to be there. They are looking forward to the next time when we focus on the pools, the community hall, the activities - and oh yeah, visiting the parks as well - for a while.

LOL! You catch on quickly young grasshopper. Actually, we JUST got our power back. So I'm off to restore power connections to original configuration... then hit the hay. TR update WILL occur tomorrow :)

What did the poor hay do to you anyway? Just because it was a little dark doesn't mean you need to beat it.

Enjoy your sleep my friend.

Oh yeah... you say your "TR update WILL occur tomorrow" ... what TIME tomorrow? I'd like to know in advance when I should fall out of my chair :rotfl::lmao::rotfl2:

Isn't there some saying that goes "but tomorrow never comes"... :lmao:

I don't know but I have fired off this email to them:
I am writing on behalf of the DIS Dad's Club, an Internet Forum Group. We have submitted several designs for a T-shirt for our members using an image of Disney's Goofy character. The design includes the name of our group, The DIS DAD's CLUB, Goofy's image, and each member's name and membership number. Each design has been rejected but we do not understand why. We are not a business, church, company, school or a sports team. Our design has no slogans, trademarks or tag lines for any of the above types of organizations. Our shirt is not designed for a specific event, like a family reunion, but is designed to be worn to Disney resorts so our members can recognize one another. As an Internet Forum Group, we are comprised of more than 400 fathers from all over the world who enjoy Disney. In my opinion, our designs do not meet any of the criteria for being rejected. I, and all of our members, would appreciate it if you would reconsider your stance on our design. We would enjoy doing business with your company!
Sincerely,
Mike Schooley

Maybe it will work! If not, they stand to lose a lot of business.

The letter is well written, and I hope it's successful. But chances are that the restrictions are not really coming from Zazzle. They're not the ones who hold the copyright. Whatever restrictions Zazzle is applying are coming from Disney, probably as a condition of the license that Zazzle pays Disney for the use of the Disney images. I love Disney dearly, but the way in which they choose to enforce/defend their copyrights is legendary. Disney almost single-handedly pushed through the last copyright extension law through Congress, primarily because things like Steamboat Willie were about to fall into the public domain.

Hey guys I just got an email from GKTW so I thought I would share it with all of you.

Christian,

I just checked out your first giving site---too cute!! Your daughter is precious!

I want to thank you on behalf of the entire Village for pulling this group together to support the cause. We love working with Disney groups in our fundraising efforts. They always seem to bring a level of passion and excitement for it that we don’t get to see with other groups.

We know that we would not be able to continue to fulfill our mission if it were not for the generosity of groups such as the Dis Dads! If you have any needs or questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I would love to share with you more information on how the Dad’s can get involved in Ice Cream for Breakfast!

Many thanks and blessings,
Brittany

That's great! :thumbsup2

DW and I were at the gym this evening, I was on an elliptical machine, she was on the stationary bike next to me. Not sure what I had for lunch, but some a bit was sneaking out of the ol' exhaust pipe every now and then. Afterward, DW says "You stink."
Me: "how do you know it was me?"
DW: "you have a signature smell."

Not sure about any of you, but I took this as a compliment.
Hmmmmmmm, if your signature smells, I don't notice it! Maybe there's something wrong with my computer! :lmao:

I imagine thats all true. I just don't see where we are breaking any of the rules, regardless of who established them. Since some shirts have apparently shipped, it has to be the way various people in the design department are interpreting the restrictions. I would just like them all to be on the same page, hopefully to our benefit. Maybe I'll have a response when I get home from work today. If this doesn't work to our favor, I may just give up on a T-shirt design.:sad2: A hat, without Goofy's image, would work just as well for me and I could get a lot more use out of it.

AAAARRRRGHHH!!!! Ok, I can't take this anymore, 33 days left before our mini-family reunion in WDW and I'm starting to get the shakes. Now I know what a junkie feels like. I swear, I'm ready to call in sick one morning and just drive up there for a quick Disney fix. If time doesn't speed up, I'm going to cave in and shoot up some pixie dust.

"Hi, I'm Oscar, and I'm a Disney-holic"

Take a few deep breaths...remain calm and let me know if you score some of that dust.

Sorry to say it, but it's only gonna get worse. Eight days till we hit the road.

I started to go through Disney emails today to try to "get a fix". Was reading something on Toy Story 3 and realized Jim Varney is dead, now I'm all depressed.

THIS made me laugh out loud.

See, the short version (for ME) is that once every 3 years would be PLENTY of disney. Then, once the little buggers hate us (That happens from 14-20?, then they come back around:confused3) we'd have 160 pts per year for ourselves for almost 25 years, and could go to a resort, miss the parks, and not feel like we've "missed" anything. PLUS, guess where the boys' honeymoones would be? :)
we all ways take one night, generaly the day we get there, we make a beef roast, mashed potatoes and a vegi!!! :thumbsup2we have our last "home" cooked meal for awhile.:lmao: we save alot of money just in food, i make an adr for everyday we are there but the breakfast, lunch that we dont have an adr, we eat in the "room". we stayed a few years back at car. beach resort for dd dance for one week. i spent more money there than i do for 11 nights at okw. just between lunches and breakfast and laundry its a few hundred dollars a trip.

I've been listening to my 60 years of music magic box set for a week now and it's only made things worse. My PC at home (still on) has like five different Disney Pages open right now, my wife is ready to go stay with her mom for the remainder of the time. I think I might be starting to drive everyone around me a little crazy. What's worse is my nephews & Niece were there just last week and kept texting me from inside the parks. Do you know how hard it is to get any work done when every few minutes I'd get a text saying "standing in line for space mountain", or "on the monorail to Epcot"?

I've had Dole Whip every night this week... :stir:
