I agree with Elizabeth. Maybe 3 boys tops!! Make sure that you have an even number. When there is an odd # one is always left out.

In my head I want to be the type of mom Deb is but then reality sets in and it all goes down hill from there.

If it makes you feel any better there are WAY more moms like us then there are like Deb.;)

All right...after thinking about it...and the fact you are sleep over newbie I would make the list of invitees smaller.

Here's the print, called A New Day At The Cinderella Castle.

oh that is gorgeous

Maybe Nicholas's friends aren't as wild as DS's friends, but I know there have been times when I watched the clock just waiting for a play date to end! It really depends on the individual kids, but I still thing 4 total is plenty for overnight.
I am used to kids complying with my requests, and DS had one little friend a couple of years ago who just would NOT do what I asked him to do (like get out of the pool when it was time to get out). He also climbed up on my kitchen counter so he could reach something!:scared1: The reason I mention this is because I had NO CLUE he would do that when I invited him!
DS doesn't have friends sleep over very often, but if he does I make sure I screen his choice VERY carefully!:rotfl2:

Trust me...when you have sleep-overs with boys...less is more! It is WAY WAY different than sleep overs with girls....girls are content to paint nails, do make up, giggle etc etc...with boys it always turns physical...play wrestling...tag...jumping...climbing...it's loud :scared1:<gag>

Yes, I can just imagine my living room full of Power Rangers. :sad2:  :rotfl:

Anne Marie - I see you have a new tag! Did you do that or did the Tag Fairy stop by?
No, I added that myself. I did have a tag from the tag fairy but I took it out & put in something that is more me.;)

Seeking birthday party advice......

Nicholas' 8th bday is rapidly approaching and I've been asking him what he wants to do. I gave him the option of having a party somewhere (skate rink, Fun Land, etc) or having a sleepover. He has chosen the sleepover. I'm a sleepover virgin!!!! It will be his first. How many boys should I let him have? What kinds of foods should I serve? Games? Entertainment? Remember, I need easy and convenient. I'm thinking that it will probably be a Saturday night. Kids will probably be too tired for a Friday night sleepover after a week of school. Thanks for any suggestions you can offer.

I would keep it small. Maybe 4 or 6 inlcuding Nicholas, I agree to keep even numbers also. I know its standard but I would order pizza, popcorn & movies. (maybe meet the robinson's since its just out & its kind of a boy movie?) One thing that might be fun is to let them make their own sundaes. Have m&m's, sprinkles, toppings, etc & let them top their ice cream.
Maybe give them small flash lights as a favor to use in the dark. If you have a king size sheet, you can make a tent they call all sit under.

Friday would be my choice since they would be more tired & also you can have them sleep in on Saturday. One thing, print a firm time on the invite otherwise you will have parents thinking they can pick them up whenever.

Elin,

You look fabulous!!!! Your girls are lovely!!!!

Thanks, Anne Marie. Good suggestions. :thumbsup2

So do you all let the kids sleep in the living room or do they all go in the bedroom with their sleeping bags?

Just reading about sleep overs caused me to go open the wine! :)

I let them all sleep in the family room....

Anne Marie - Good suggestions! I wouldn't ever think of ice cream toppings because DS only likes PLAIN vanilla! (Maybe we should have a sleep over and invite Heidi!):lmao:

Tammi - Living room.

So do you all let the kids sleep in the living room or do they all go in the bedroom with their sleeping bags?

When i had sleepovers, we did both....i guess it could depend on the size of the bedroomor amount of furniture in there/amount of boys--will there be enough room for them all with their sleeping bags

When you say open, did you have to untwist the cap? Or perhaps, you're drinking from a good vintage box? Maybe your wine is really Mad Dog 20/20?
