OK All of you creative DDA people, I need a little help. Kyle is making his First Communion and I am making the invites myself---I bought plain cardstock at hallmark and it just has a little cross and a small design at the top. I'm having a little trouble w/ the wording, I don't want it to be super formal. Does anyone have any ideas, or suggestions???

Here are a few poems I found on the net.
A First Communion Blessing
May you always feel
as close to Jesus
as you to today,
May you always count on Him
to gently guide you
on your way...
May you always trust in God
to answer every single prayer,
May you always
feel Him blessing you
with tender, loving care.

I said a first communion prayer
just for you today,
As Jesus comes into your
heart in such a special way.
I prayed that as you take the host and
bow your head in prayer,
you'll feel His love inside you
and know His tender care.
I asked that every moment be blessed
with friends and laughter,
And that you'll know true happiness--
today and every after.

On Your First Holy Communion...

Remember how He broke the loaf made from golden wheat,
And said, "This is my body. Take this bread and eat."

Remember how the sun-ripe grapes taken from the vine
Became a cup of blessing: "Take and drink this wine."

Remember how a cross of wood became a symbol of
Christ's giving of himself to us-the greatest kind of love.

Remember Jesus' love for you today as you receive
His bread of life, His cup of grace...Remember and believe!

I would put the poem on the front and the invite on the back/ inside.
I am a big fan of poems and quotes,I find a lot on google. Best of luck.

Jennifer, What a wonderful invitation. It is simple and pleasing to the eye at the same time.
Get an energy drink.:drinking1 I hope you make it through class tonight.

Snow day here too!!

Julia is NOT happy and neither is mommy!!!

They both want to go outside and play - and mean mommy told them no!! When you have a cough and snotty nose - you don't get to go play in the snow - and it REALLY doesn't help if your mom is a wimp and hates snow!!!!

What kind of mother are you! You wont let them play in the cold have the snot freeze to the little faces. You are not any fun at all. Snotcicles for all my friends.

the mom asked why her password was so long and her daughter said

it had to be a least five characters

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh, now that is funny. I am sending that to DH right now.

My computer :badpc: is slower than molasses in the dead of winter today. It is killing me.:furious:

Happy Birthday Leslie and Mary!

party: party: party: party: party:

Booooooooo

I'm here - for a couple of minutes anyway.

We just got the most gorgeous postcard in the mail!! If you hold it one way, Tinkerbelle is to the left of the castle - if you hold it slightly angled Tinkerbelle is on the right of the castle! It is just beautiful! And thank you Vicki for sending it to us! It was so nice to get a postcard when you don't expect one - brings a little Disney Magic into a cold day.

Before I forget:

Happy Birthday Leslie and Mary!

Happy Birthday Denise!!!

Wish I had a peice of the carrot cake right about now. That's one of my favorites!

Hope all the rest of you are doing well. Later!

The saddest part of my job is putting together funerals and funeral bulletins. :guilty: The lady who was in the hospital last week...lost her valiant struggle and passed away on Friday afternoon. She was a fount of information on most of the people in the congregation and she will be missed!! Her husband has been an amazing caretaker...and he thinks he let her down somehow  .
Any way ever since having Cassidy I have been a crier!!! I suspect the tear ducts will get a workout this afternoon....the memorial is this afternoon...it is one of those we close the office down so all can attend and as a sign of respect.

I will be thinking of you and her family this afternoon.

I work up at church - only at night and so I am not there during funerals - but last week they buried a seven month old - the ladies were very upset that night when we got there - understandably so -

I know you must bring comfort to people during this time - when my other grandma died 6 years ago her service was not in a church and it took a lot of work on our part - it was so nice to have the church handle everything when my grandma passed away in Jan.

Good afternoon everyone! I just got back from my latest Dr. appointment. He was able to hear the heartbeat with the Doppler this time :) . For about 3 seconds I was hoping he couldn't find it so he'd send me for another ultrasound (have I mentioned I'm dying to find out what we're having) but I was so relieved to hear that heartbeat.

My 20 week ultrasound is scheduled for April 18 so hopefully it will cooperate and we'll find out then.

Everything else looked fine! He also told me I can pick any day within the week before my due date to schedule the c-section. Hopefully I'll be able to get Christopher's school calendar and work around that a little.

I'm off to catch up on the latest posts.

I just checked Amy and Kevin's flight and it is on time!!! :Pinkbounc

I am glad they didn't get stuck at the airport with Alyssa!! In just 40 minutes they will headed to :sunny: and fun!! I hope they remember to bring the sun home with them!!!!!!!!!!!

:grouphug: Hugs and prayers for you, your congregation, and the husband :grouphug:

I am so glad it all went well - you are crazy - like you wouldn't have been the world's BIGGEST basketcase waiting for that ultrasound!!!

And I must ask again why you need the ultrasound to tell you that your baby is a girl?!?!?

I'm sorry to hear this. It is especially hard when the one left behind struggles with the "what if's". Her family will be in my prayers.

You are very welcome! Becky helped me pick it out for you guys. We thought it was appropriate after you brought some Tink magic into our lives. I forgot to leave room when I wrote out the message as she wanted to add her own. I expect she'll send something now that we are home.

It is nice to see you even if it is just for a moment!!!
