I ordered those silcone bracelets (like Lance Armstrong wears) which I had my cell phone engraved into it. The kids didn't mind wearing them since there are "in" I think I spent $15. I got them from: www.customsiliconebracelets.com

Kristine

Kristine - that's a good idea. Will I get to wear one if you go on our DDA trip? :teeth:

Marti....

Wait til you see the message I have picked out for you!!!!!!!!!!!

I got these bracelets for my kids before we went to WDW in the fall -

http://rekeydesigns.com/

they were great and they both wore them with no problem!!! I just put their name and my cell phone on it - they could swim in it - and of course thought they were cool with them on -

I taught them (well Julia anyway) to show it to anyone if she got lost

worked like a charm

Off to my open house...everyone join hands and do some kind of chant that I get this house sold!! :rotfl2:

See y'all later.

Kristine

OMG - Kristine

I didn't see your post before I posted mine

Well, did I have a day yesterday! My daughter and granddaughter were supposed to leave on Friday at noon to go to Norfolk to see my son and grandson. There was an oil leak in my granddaughter's car, so they had to wait until yesterday after it was looked at to leave. My daughter stayed overnight at my house (my granddaughter lives with me) so they could get an early start. Sarah (granddaughter) tried to wake her mother at 6:00, but couldn't really wake her - just mumbling. She decided that her mother was tired and that she would let her sleep a little longer. I got up around 7:15 and went into the living room where Melanie (daughter) spent the night on the couch. She opened her eyes and pointed to an envelope of oatmeal which she had left on the coffee table and said "mmmmmaaaaaaaakkkkke thaaaaattttttt." Her words were so slow and jumbled. I asked her if she was "shocky" (diabetic). She said "yeeessssss." I gave her a small Snickers bar and told her to eat that while I fixed the oatmeal. The weird speech continued and then she said she couldn't move right. I was so scared she was having a stroke or brain damage from the low blood sugar that I called 911. Her blood sugar level was 64. They gave her some liquid glucose and she recovered completely in just a few minutes. It was very scary. I've seen her in insulin shock many times over the years, but the speech thing was a whole new development. This was the third episode of very low blood sugar in the last month. The doctor lowered her insulin dosage after the last time, but I think it needs to be lowered again. I went out to the drugstore as soon as it opened and got some of that liquid glucose to have on hand!!!Anyway, they decided to go ahead and make the trip. About 2 hours after they left, I got a call from them. Sarah's car had "died." I had given Sarah an AAA membership, as it only cost $20 more along with mine, so I told them to call AAA and call me back. As it turned out, they were on the New York Thruway, and AAA towers are not allowed on there, so they had to have two tows. To try to shorten the story, it was the alternator, it can't be fixed until Monday, and I had to travel 65 miles last night to pick them up. They aren't going to Virginia, and my grandson is very upset. He just went to live there in November, is only 20, and has been looking forward to seeing his mother and sister. Sarah was very upset, too. I told her that there was a reason why all this happened. They just weren't meant to be on that trip at that time. We may never know the reason, but the Lord works in mysterious ways. Today we're all going to look at Matthew McConaghey in "Failure to Launch." Looking at and listening to MMcC always makes me smile (hey, I may be 61, but I'm not dead - I can look and enjoy!!). Have a great day DDA!

If I was a "drinking" gal I would offer you a "drink". but these days coffee and tea are my drink of choice. What a day! Good to hear things are good now. Maybe a nice hot bath with lots of bubbles and soft music, oh and a good tea drink. (Calgone take me away)

Oh dear! What a day is right. I'm glad that you were close by to notice a problem and help. I'm glad that she was feeling better enough to make the trip (even if they didn't make it :( ). I hope that you enjoyed the movie!

Okay DDA - here are some trip details I wanted to share with you all

The plan has actually changed to fly in on the 18th and out on the 21st - so Tammi and I have been doing some research

if no one else joins us Tammi and I will probably stay at the pop (Marti will be staying with Hunka and Matt) - but we have some others interested and I thought if the following information tempts any of you....

We got a good deal on a rental car or minivan - and if enough people are interested Tammi and I think it would be fun to stay at a villa close to WDW!!!

here is the breakdown of the cost to stay by the number of people coming - this includes your lodging and a car rental that we would share - this is a rough estimate based on decisions that would be made once we have firm numbers - before we make the reservation - we would need firm commitments - the sooner the better!!!!!

6 people - $86
5 people - $103
4 people - $129
3 people - $162

or we could stay at the pop and for every room it is $124 pp for the three nights - if we have odd numbers we would have to think about sharing a bed - and then just figure $25 for the rental car - putting us around $150 pp to stay at the pop

I'll be at Pop 5/19 to 5/23. I'd love to meet you all but will have Lizzy with me to celebrate her 7th birthday. If you go for Pop, I've asked for Tramp building, lake side, top floor. I've purchased a Pooh birthday banner and flower gel stickies to decorate the window of our room with.

I'm home sick with a nasty cold today. DH took the kids to see his Mom. Its nice and quiet here. I think I should try to clean a little. Last night we had a major trauma when we couldn't find the "huge dino". How do you loose a 2 to 3 foot rubber dino? We finally found him in the toy box and he happily stood at his lookout spot on the end of Emma's bed. This morning I suggested he needed a name and she wanted to name him Pooh. :rotfl2: I told her that would be a bit confusing since we must have at least 10 Poohs so she agreed to Rex.

Here's Ramiro new bedroom.
The color isn't showing up good.
It is more of a yellow than a orange.
The lighting isn't to good in his room.
I think the color really makes the new bedding pop.

This kid made out like a bandit.
New bed, headboard, dresser, nite stand, lamps, bedding,
ceiling fan light,paint.
Poor baby had to keep his old tv.

Well, I got a lot of sympathy when I asked about going, but I guess it's a no go. I did however get a promise that when Terra turns 5, I can got for a weekend by myself. I did try to figurre out how I could get my mom to MA or FL to keep Terra, but didn't think that would go over well either. So, I guess the DDA will have to make this an annual thing of I'm ever to go. Have a good time! I will definitely be thinking about you then!

That looks great, Jo!! I think that you may need to save some that paint to duplicate the look once you get settled in your new place.

FYI only use semi-gloss paint in kitchens & baths.
I painted Ramiro room last time with semi-gloss.
I had to prime it before using color.
3 coats of primer.
So I had to paint the whole room 4 times.
I should have known better.
Oh well live & learn.

I broke down today.
I'm sick of blank walls.
Had to put up some pictures.
2 in my room, 3 in Ramiro, 1 in the den.
I used to have 20 pictures & 2 shelfs with nick nacks in my room before.
I had 8 pictures & 1 shelf with nick nacks in Ramiro room before.
I had 12 pictures in the den before.
So yes the garage sale will have a lot of Disney lithos, cells, ect.
I have the inside all done, I hope.
So I just need a weekend with some good weather.
