Maybe all the tags on your camcorder bags etc should be on the inside of the bag? Or am I just being an overly cautious New Yorker?

Well..... I live in Mexico, so I don't think I'll be that concerned. :teeth:

I actually think you guys are more concerned about the luggage than the kids!!!!

here is mmy thought on your tags - you just gave someone your kids name, your name and how old they are - that is all a potential kidnapper would need to convince your child they know you -

I have bracelets for my kids that just have my cell phone and their names - I figure they will give out their names pretty readily anyway and it is the first question anyone would ask them - it is the other info that might make it easy for someone to say - I know your mommy and Daddy - they are steve and Kate and you are 4 - they told me to come get you for them - my kids would fall for it hook, line and sinker!! I think the best info is their name and a cell phone number

You have a good point. Although my situation is a little different than everybody elses. The reason I did this it's because my kids first language is spanish, and they are learning to speak english at school, as their second language. I figured that if they got lost, they would be so scared that maybe they wouldn't even know how to say their name in english. I even included a line (which I took off when I posted the tags) that said "I speak spanish" so that maybe they could be taken to a CM who speaks spanish. On the other hand, they had their tags hanging from their belt loops and either inside their pockets or beneath their shirts, so nobody could see them. I told them that, in case they got lost, they should go to a CM and show them the tag. They are 5 & 10, so they were able to handle this.

Did you do this on business card size? These are so great!!! LOVE IT!!!!

Yes, they are all in business card size. As far as the camera one, I just changed the title for each thing, i.e. "This camera belongs to..." or "This fanny pack belongs to..", etc. and then I printed all of them on one same page. I think I was able to fit about 8 or 10 in a page. Not sure. :sunny:

Very nice!!! I think you might be able to put a white box over the purple section. I am not a designer yet, but I do a lot of things in Word and if I want something to not show, I will but a box and fill it in white.
Keep up the good work!!

Thanks. Brendita already helped me crop the design. :)

What happened to switching jobs? Weren't you thinking of teaching more classes at the hospital? If you switch it might eliminate the problem. Otherwise I would talk to your boss now and explain the problem and see if they will make an exception. Personally I don't think that missing 5 days of K is a big deal, but if the school takes notice it could be a problem in the future.

Deb

DH doesn't want me to cause it would be 2 Saturdays a month. I hate having to work on the weekend, so I think I'll just stick with the preschool stuff. I've actually asked for more days next fall. When I don't work I sit around and waste time. I'm much more productive when I go to work.

DH and I agreed to keep it at Christmas, let them know why we're going then (kids out of school and Rees doesn't need to miss any days). He said if they have a problem, then I'll just quit. He's not big on me working any. He says I deserve a break!

I bought colored bracelets (like you get at a fair or for MVMVP/MNSSHP) at Party City. They were plastic/vinyl (waterproof) and you have to cut them off. I got the kids' favorite colors (lime green, blue, and orange). Each day I wrote "ICE" and my cell phone number with a Sharpie on a bracelet for them to wear. At night I cut it off in the room. Worked great. ICE stands for In Case of Emergency and is a universally recognized alert for kids. You can see them in this picture.

So, I think this is going to be the back of our shirts.

Well, did I have a day yesterday! My daughter and granddaughter were supposed to leave on Friday at noon to go to Norfolk to see my son and grandson. There was an oil leak in my granddaughter's car, so they had to wait until yesterday after it was looked at to leave. My daughter stayed overnight at my house (my granddaughter lives with me) so they could get an early start. Sarah (granddaughter) tried to wake her mother at 6:00, but couldn't really wake her - just mumbling. She decided that her mother was tired and that she would let her sleep a little longer. I got up around 7:15 and went into the living room where Melanie (daughter) spent the night on the couch. She opened her eyes and pointed to an envelope of oatmeal which she had left on the coffee table and said "mmmmmaaaaaaaakkkkke thaaaaattttttt." Her words were so slow and jumbled. I asked her if she was "shocky" (diabetic). She said "yeeessssss." I gave her a small Snickers bar and told her to eat that while I fixed the oatmeal. The weird speech continued and then she said she couldn't move right. I was so scared she was having a stroke or brain damage from the low blood sugar that I called 911. Her blood sugar level was 64. They gave her some liquid glucose and she recovered completely in just a few minutes. It was very scary. I've seen her in insulin shock many times over the years, but the speech thing was a whole new development. This was the third episode of very low blood sugar in the last month. The doctor lowered her insulin dosage after the last time, but I think it needs to be lowered again. I went out to the drugstore as soon as it opened and got some of that liquid glucose to have on hand!!!Anyway, they decided to go ahead and make the trip. About 2 hours after they left, I got a call from them. Sarah's car had "died." I had given Sarah an AAA membership, as it only cost $20 more along with mine, so I told them to call AAA and call me back. As it turned out, they were on the New York Thruway, and AAA towers are not allowed on there, so they had to have two tows. To try to shorten the story, it was the alternator, it can't be fixed until Monday, and I had to travel 65 miles last night to pick them up. They aren't going to Virginia, and my grandson is very upset. He just went to live there in November, is only 20, and has been looking forward to seeing his mother and sister. Sarah was very upset, too. I told her that there was a reason why all this happened. They just weren't meant to be on that trip at that time. We may never know the reason, but the Lord works in mysterious ways. Today we're all going to look at Matthew McConaghey in "Failure to Launch." Looking at and listening to MMcC always makes me smile (hey, I may be 61, but I'm not dead - I can look and enjoy!!). Have a great day DDA!

Gosh, I hope she's feeling better and the car is fixed soon. I feel horrible when my BS drops from too much insulin. It is very scary. Hugs to you all. BTW, oj or a coke works great followed by a protein snack to keep the BS levels more stable.

Here's Ramiro new bedroom.
The color isn't showing up good.
It is more of a yellow than a orange.
The lighting isn't to good in his room.
I think the color really makes the new bedding pop.

This kid made out like a bandit.
New bed, headboard, dresser, nite stand, lamps, bedding,
ceiling fan light,paint.
Poor baby had to keep his old tv.
It's beautiful.

And here's the picture of our sleeping baby and her new attachments that Amy promised earlier today:

I LOVE it, Kevin. That is so cute! If you ever feel like sharing it sometime would you mind making one for me and Terra to use? Have a great time! How's that list that Amy keeps making for you coming along?

What a great husband! I know what you mean, though, about working. Sometimes I feel that working would be a way of keeping my sanity.

I'm glad that you get to still go at Christmas. I know how much you all enjoyed the decorations and atmosphere, etc. Besides, I like to think of someone I know enjoying Christmas at the happiest place on earth!
