Her words were so slow and jumbled. I asked her if she was "shocky" (diabetic). She said "yeeessssss." I gave her a small Snickers bar and told her to eat that while I fixed the oatmeal. The weird speech continued and then she said she couldn't move right. I was so scared she was having a stroke or brain damage from the low blood sugar that I called 911. Her blood sugar level was 64. They gave her some liquid glucose and she recovered completely in just a few minutes. It was very scary.

Oh you are all going to have so much fun! I would love to be able to take an all girls trip someday.

Okay DDA - here are some trip details I wanted to share with you all

Very good point :thumbsup2

here is mmy thought on your tags - you just gave someone your kids name, your name and how old they are - that is all a potential kidnapper would need to convince your child they know you -

Good luck! :cheer2:

I just wanted to share. I made this ID tags for our trip. The first one was for my kids ID. I used the second one for my camera, fanny packs, camcorder, backpack, etc., just changing the names accordingly. I printed and laminated them. Then I punched a hole in one corner and used a key ring to hang them from all my stuff. Even my kids hanged the key ring from their belt loops. Finally I am learning how to post images!!

Well, did I have a day yesterday! My daughter and granddaughter were supposed to leave on Friday at noon to go to Norfolk to see my son and grandson. There was an oil leak in my granddaughter's car, so they had to wait until yesterday after it was looked at to leave. My daughter stayed overnight at my house (my granddaughter lives with me) so they could get an early start. Sarah (granddaughter) tried to wake her mother at 6:00, but couldn't really wake her - just mumbling. She decided that her mother was tired and that she would let her sleep a little longer. I got up around 7:15 and went into the living room where Melanie (daughter) spent the night on the couch. She opened her eyes and pointed to an envelope of oatmeal which she had left on the coffee table and said "mmmmmaaaaaaaakkkkke thaaaaattttttt." Her words were so slow and jumbled. I've seen her in insulin shock many times over the years, but the speech thing was a whole new development. This was the third episode of very low blood sugar in the last month. The doctor lowered her insulin dosage after the last time, but I think it needs to be lowered again. I went out to the drugstore as soon as it opened and got some of that liquid glucose to have on hand!!!Anyway, they decided to go ahead and make the trip. About 2 hours after they left, I got a call from them. Sarah's car had "died." I had given Sarah an AAA membership, as it only cost $20 more along with mine, so I told them to call AAA and call me back. As it turned out, they were on the New York Thruway, and AAA towers are not allowed on there, so they had to have two tows. To try to shorten the story, it was the alternator, it can't be fixed until Monday, and I had to travel 65 miles last night to pick them up. They aren't going to Virginia, and my grandson is very upset. He just went to live there in November, is only 20, and has been looking forward to seeing his mother and sister. Sarah was very upset, too. I told her that there was a reason why all this happened. They just weren't meant to be on that trip at that time. We may never know the reason, but the Lord works in mysterious ways. Today we're all going to look at Matthew McConaghey in "Failure to Launch." Looking at and listening to MMcC always makes me smile (hey, I may be 61, but I'm not dead - I can look and enjoy!!). Have a great day DDA!

Woweee!! What a day!!

Kevin this is so cute, I love it! Wonderful job!

I ordered those silcone bracelets (like Lance Armstrong wears) which I had my cell phone engraved into it. The kids didn't mind wearing them since there are "in" I think I spent $15. I got them from: www.customsiliconebracelets.com

Here's Ramiro new bedroom.
The color isn't showing up good.
It is more of a yellow than a orange.
The lighting isn't to good in his room.
I think the color really makes the new bedding pop.

This kid made out like a bandit.
New bed, headboard, dresser, nite stand, lamps, bedding,
ceiling fan light,paint.
Poor baby had to keep his old tv.

Wonderful!!!

Great job once again!!

OK - we're back from Failure to Launch. I thought it was a great way to spend the afternoon. There were some great laughs, and it was fast moving. There was nothing deep about it, but just a nice "feel good" movie. No violence (unless you call being bitten by a chipmunk "violent"), just a little cussing, but not the main focus, no really hot and heavy sex scenes (just a little suggestion of one, tastefully done). I don't know if it's just a chick flick or not - Matthew and his friends were doing quite a few "manly" activities. All in all it was very enjoyable. I have to go finish making dinner (late on account of the movie) - most of it's in the oven, but I need to do the salad.

Amy, I'm with you. I'm pouting quite a bit about this DDA trip, too. DH just can't see how our budget will allow for a DDA trip in May, a trip to DL in June, and another trip to the World in January. I'm so sad about it. One of these days, I'm going to be able to come on all these spontaneous trips with you all! Until then, take detailed notes, and report back.

Have a great, if rainy, day. It could be worse, it's snowing here. I have to wrestle 4 kids into the car for church in the snow. Ick!

I am feeling jealous too. I want to go. I just asked Dh if I should starting looking for airfare so I could do the girls trip. His response "Yeh, the airfare should be cheap since you'd only need a one way ticket" :guilty: .. I guess I won't be joining you all unless you need a permanent roommate.

WONDERFUL!!!!!!

She really can't belt a song!!! the first half was off her album Timeless and it is all songs from the good old days of the Grand Ole Opry - and it was nice but not very fun -

then she came out and sang the Martina McBride songs you know - and it was just AMAZING!!!

I looooove Martina. She is such a tiny lady, but such a vocal powerhouse. She is one of my all time favorite female artists. I'm glad you got a chance to see her.

So how I am still awake I don't know. I worked 42 hours between 1:30pm on Friday and 5:30pm today (Sunday), plus they wanted me to work tonight 9pm to midnight. Sorry but I don't think so. I've had had like 5 hours of sleep in that time. I have off all day tomorrow and won't work my second job except for training for 6 hours on Wednesday, until the 25th. My hours were cut back because they hired another full time person. :woohoo: I need the break.

Speaking of breaks, I might be interested in the girls only WDW weekend. Although I might make it a week. I lived in Orlando for four years when I was in college and have lots of friends to catch up with. I haven't seen them since last March. I have been trying to figure out when to go.

Once I am more coherent, I will have to look things over. I have vacation time to use and I haven't touched any of it yet. Would have to find out if I can even get off those dates. I basically work every weekend so it might not work, especially since we are still short a staff person.

Kevin I love that design. I might have to have you add a couple more heads so I can borrow it for our next trip. I have 16 months to plan. :rotfl: . It is a very creative design.
