Well, John just went to step outside to have a smoke and he meet with a bear, tearing into our garbage can. :scared1: Lucky for him the bear was scared and ran off.
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Amy, no flames here. My sister and I grew up eating raw batter of all sorts and we are just fine, thank you. To this day I prefer the batter to the actual baked product.

Great pictures of the kidlets too. :goodvibes

i STILL eat the batter!!

Anne Marie - Your TR was fabulous. You've made me want to stay at the Beach Club next time!

I completely agree-- love the beach club

hi everyone-
I just got home from a 14 hour day...we had a long day at work, but was alot better than yesterday.....i wnet out to dinner with the ladies from work and then did a bit of shopping for our grandparents day celebration.

NOw, im home and ready for the BIGGEST tennis match of the season :)

/Raises hand to admit that I eat cookie dough. And I let my kids eat it too (unless I can get away with eating it in the dining room while they're distracted by the TV.) ;)

Kim love the scrapbook pages!

Anne Marie another great installment of your TR :thumbsup2

Heidi :scared1: Glad the bear was scared away!

Yep. That about covers it.:)

I stayed late with Princess so Momboss could go to the parent orientation for the preschool. I came in at 8:30. DS was brushing his teeth. THEN he says after he finishes he will go read and write his summary!:scared1: NO, he won't! 8:30 is bedtime, not time to start the rest of his homework!:headache: Did we not JUST have this problem 48 hours ago?! I thought DH was going to have a coronary. He was FURIOUS. But the thing is, he doesn't communicate well with DS and he never has. So DH didn't know about the reading and summary. I knew, because I ask DS VERY detailed questions after school every day. But I wasn't home. So DS is in trouble AGAIN. I made him go straight to bed. He will have to read and write his little summary before school. He has been ending up with extra time so that should work fine. If not, he needs to face the consequences.

What really makes me mad is that DH rushes DS to get off the phone when he talks to me after school. DH thinks I can't possibly be talking to DS about anything important. Well, who knew about the summary and who didn't?

Bernadette - We really didn't take that many pictures, even with DH's crusade for a new camera. I think he may be over that. He has been looking at hunting equipment. He has been hunting maybe 5 times, never managed to shoot anything. Yet he continues to get a license and go out to "hunt". He HAD to buy a GPS a year or so ago, and he has rifles and whatever. He puts forth quite an effort to look like he knows what he is doing. He used to go to the rifle range but when we drove past on the way to the airport it was pretty much underwater. We've had a bit too much rain.:rolleyes1

Sorry, Elizabeth. Sounds like you're having quite the rough start to your school year. I'm having the same fights with Shane about his homework already. :sad2:

Thanks, Kim.
DH was screaming "Is that in your planner? Is it?" What difference does that make? DS KNEW he was supposed to read and write a short summary of whatever he read. Am I supposed to believe DH looked in the planner? I know he didn't! I fail to see what difference having it in the planner would make if DS KNEW but just chose not to do it. He didn't forget, he just didn't do it. When he finished his other homework DH told him to go play. DH ASSUMED there wasn't anything else to be done, DS assumed DH didn't care if he did the reading right then and there because DH SAID to go play!:sad2: The two of them are worse than siblings. I would pick him up and bring him to Princess's house to do homework, but by the time school gets out she is awake and there is no way she would leave him alone to let him do homework. If DH would just shut up and LISTEN to what DS says to me on the phone I bet he would learn a lot.

Kristine I have been thinking about you. Hope you are doing well

Can someone fill me in on what's happening with Kristine? I must have missed her post and I've been worrying about her.

Kristine, :grouphug: and pixiedust: to you & yours.

Amy .. the cake looked great .. I still can't figure out the cup-cake cake concept or rather how to decorate it to have it look like a cake .. you'll have to give me a hint or two on that .. and as far as batter goes ... yup my kids love it. In fact they had brownie batter this weekend ..poppa got a baking bug up his butt and made like 5 batches of brownies lol ..

Kim thank you, The watch is put away now I just have to decide when's a good time to give RJ the watch.

Jen I'm sorry it was such a long day, but i'm glad that you got to go to dinner and get away from everyhing for a bit and shopping is ALWAYS very theraputic.. I'm thinking I'm gonna need some Therapy next week, I'll let ya know :D

Anne Marie thank you so much for sharing your TR and pictures .. I'm jealous .. we're not even thinking about plannin another trip 'till X-mas of next year .. that should be interesting .. I think we're gonna go in a day or two after Chrismas and stay through to new years and celebrate the hubby's cousin's 35th birthday on new years eve !! see now i got myself all excited again and i still don't know for sure if we're all going or what .. I WANT TO PLAN !!!! lol

Elizabeth, I'm so sorry that the school is messing things up for your DS .. I hope they get his classes set in stone and he doesn't have to keep changing things around .. and as for the homework .. I hope he can get into a schedule where he gets everything done before bedtime. Good Luck with the rest of the week.

Anne Marie I am sad to see your TR end :sad1: Thank you for sharing with us, I enjoyed reading & seeing your wonderful pictures :goodvibes Leaving is always so hard to do, we just plan for the next one to cheer ourselves up :thumbsup2

8/31
Our last day at Disney! We had our last breakfast at concierge & said goodbye to our lovely room.

We were not happy. We checked our bags at airline check in & went off to Epcot for a few hours. We had to be ready for ME by 5:40pm so we figured we’d make the most of our day.

We went right over to character connection so we could fill up our photo pass CD. I purchased it before we left so I wanted to make sure we got as many pictures as we could. I love photo pass & hope they will have all the ride photos linked to it. Right now only Test Track is linked. (that we knew of). The wait was around 10 minutes at character connection which was way better than the 60 minutes we had encountered during out trip. We got to take pictures with Chip & Dale, Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, & Goofy.

Katie found quite a few hidden Mickey’s here as well.

We rode both Soarin...

& Test Track & then went up to WS. We saw the movie in China & bumped into Mulan our way out.

My little dragon.

Another hidden Mickey at the China pavilion.

We took a leisurely pace & then it started to pour. Unfortunately I packed our ponchos & the sky wasn‘t letting up so we had to buy 5 more ponchos to get around.($33!). Dana had some time to sample some German wine while the kids & I looked at the Christmas shop in Germany. The last character we saw was Jasmine & the Genie. Sophie loves Jasmine & since she wasn’t at Akershus she was thrilled to see her in Morocco.

Well now it was time to go & we said goodbye to Epcot :sad1: & made our way to the ME bus. I said goodbye everyone at the BC & the BC itself:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: . I can't imagine we could be treated better anywhere else & thats what makes us want to return.:wizard:

Nothing more to report after that except that we had such a late flight coming home. The kids were falling asleep (& so was I). Everyone complained they didn’t feel well . Katie had a slight fever, Daniel was coughing, & Sophie said she was going to throw up.:scared: We didn’t get home until 1am. Next time I will book an earlier flight home. Took us all a few days to recover but we can’t wait to go back & do it all again!

I so enjoyed your trip report. I hated to see your trip end  Thanks for sharing with us.

Does anyone know if the USPS pins are tradeable? They have some Disney stamp pins, but I can't see the back to see if they have the Disney Stamp on them :confused3

Elizabeth I feel your frustration

I stayed late with Princess so Momboss could go to the parent orientation for the preschool. I came in at 8:30. DS was brushing his teeth. Before I forget, I won't be around this week-end. Chuck & I are going camping again. Next week, I'll be working a night and week-end migration. They are pilot sites and I'm the manager oversight. I don't know that I'll have much time to get on to chat. I'll just keep reminding myself that it is money for my March trip.

I called the Principal this morning to discuss the bus seating issue. He is a new Principal this year and readily agreed that the older kids cannot make the younger ones move. He told me that he would talk to the kids before the bus ride home. So the boys came home and the Principal did not go onto the bus. Nick had spoken to a couple of teachers during the day and he did not know that I had in fact called the school. The teachers told him that he did not have to move from his seat. So when he got on the bus this afternoon a 7th grader told him to move and he said "NO" and told him that he had talked to several teachers and he didn't have to. The kids went to the bus driver who confirmed that the Principal had told him that the rules had changed and no one needed to move for anyone. That caused the kids to call Nick a brat and one even said that it was a good thing that he was on the bus (insinuating that he'd do something to him otherwise) I was not happy to hear this. Nick wants me to not call tomorrow and to see what happens. He says that he is not afraid of the older kids and that he can handle it himself. The boy that I feel made threatening comments is the son of a man that I went to high school with. If this keeps up I'll be having a chat with his Dad. His Dad was never a bully. Chris wants to get on the bus and handle things himself, but that would not be a good solution for anyone. So send a few prayers our way that things blow over.

First I have to say... FINALLY! I could not get on the DIS for almost 24 hours! Don't know why, but it has been driving me nuts!

Lindsay - best of luck and good thoughts are headed your way as you try to work out your career. It is a hard time making those kinds of decisions. I can only hope for you that you have the time to make the right choices for yourself.

YAY! Molly gets to go to preschool!

And I see I am not the only one who has had trouble with the DIS! That makes me happier.

As much as we want to solve things for our kids, I'm glad to hear that you are going to try to have things blow over. We need to keep our kids safe but also give them some room to try to work things out. That was one of the hardest things for me. There were some bullies on the bus with my kids. Luckily, except for once, they were able to handle it themselves.
