Jen-- I know two people who also had to say goodbye to pets recently.

Steffy-- I must have missed your post, but I wanted to add a hug to you for whatever you are going through.

Snow day for us! It was supposed to snow all day yesterday, but it just rained. Then we were supposed to get 13" evening and overnight. We ended up with about 5" (very heavy and wet), but it is still snowing here. The worry is that the snow is so heavy on the branches and power lines. We've had a couple of branches down out back. I'm not sure it really warranted a snow day, but we have used only one so far this year, so I think they were being extra careful. The higher elevations may be worse, though, and if they open schools, they have to be able to get everyone there.

This is what we woke to this morning.

Oh yuck, Beth! That is so just not right for the middle of April. I'm not complaining anymore about our rain and wind!

Well the rain came down in buckets yesterday & it is still raining nowbut not as bad. It was so loud. Anyway we get the kids to bed & lay down. I hear tapping in my room. So Dana & I think its ice pellets hitting the window. We turn on the light & what do you think it was? Water..yep water dripping from my ceiling into my room! Well we are on the first floor so it can't be the roof. We run upstairs to the kids rooms & felt the wall which would have been directly above my room & lo & behold the wall is wet!:scared: Dana opened the window & look at the house & turns out there is a huge hole in the cedar siding & that is how the water got in. It must have been there for awhile but we never knew it since we haven't had such bad rain in years. :sad2:

I was nervous that the wires in the wall would get wet & go on fire (yes, I am paranoid!) so we carried the kids downstairs to sleep. Daniel was on the couch & the girls in the playroom futon. Anyway Daniel wakes up & was so cute. He had no idea how he got on the couch..he was so confused. Sophie was too but Daniel was just so funny.

We have been looking at vinyl siding so I guess we are going to do it sooner than later..gee more bills...ugh.:headache:
I hope the water damage that you sustained isn't tooooo bad, Anne Marie. Hopefully it will all be repaired soon.

Thanks, Beth! No directions came with the paper, so can you give me an approximation of ironing times? It didn't come with parchment, either, but I figure I can use some kitchen parchment (not wax) paper. Right?

Oh, thank you Jennifer!!! I didn't want to have to bother you with all you're dealing with right now!

How are you feeling? Any better? I miss your posts!!!!

Anne Marie, sorry to hear about the water damage! I hope it is not to costly to fix :wizard:

Theresa have you heard anything yet?

Tammi would you mind getting me a couple things while your at Disney?

Well i just got home--We had to take our dog to get put down tonight...

I am so sorry!

Good luck Elizabeth!! Sounds like you have everything they need. And as soon as they meet you, they will know you are the perfect nanny.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :dance3:

Maybe, maybe not!:rotfl2: I am an experienced nanny that they can't jerk around, and if the jobs they offer aren't what I want they can't talk me into them. I am probably going to be more difficult for them to work with than the little 20 year olds who need someone to hold their hand the whole time.

Stephanie, I think you need a few

I agree! I hope that whatever is making you feel down gets sorted out soon! Besides, you are GOING TO DISNEY!

I hope everything works out for your dad. :wizard:

I gotta tell ya', between dog poop & liberry I would take the liberry!:rotfl:

Yikes! I'm so sorry about the hole in your siding!

Good luck with the vinyl siding.

EEK! No water in the walls!!:scared1: I hope it dries out quickly and you can get the repair finished!

So my first interview went fine. Kind of boring, actually. I just filled out paperwork and gave them some additional info on my availability and so forth. I finished much sooner than I thought I would, which is why I am home now. I need to go pick up Brother in 15 minutes. My friend called while I was driving home and told me a couple of things about the agency that make me not-so-thrilled. She said she met several families through other avenues who said they were listed w/ this agency at the time she was looking for a job and the agency never told them about her. That's not good. In the past this agency has refused to list nannies with their own children. Now they will accept us as applicants, but by no means do they go to bat for us like my favorite agent does. My favorite agent strongly encourages families to interview me and find out exactly how often DS is around before they decide "NO". This agency wants the families to say no before they meet me so we don't waste anyone's time. And I MUST go get that TB test done. Whatever.

I think this agency prefers to work with younger, inexperienced nannies so they can call the shots. I call my own shots. We'll see how it goes!;)

Off to ballet, and then the 3 of us have dental appts. Be back this evening.

NOPE.....I'm dying here!!!

How nerve racking! Hope you hear something soon :wizard:

no sooner had I typed it than I got a phone call....the computer hasn't seen our app. yet. The broker seems to think it's going to be okay...but I won't be happy until I hear the yes!!

:grouphug: I'm so sorry.

I have to say... I'm going to Disney next week!!!!

Good morning, DDA! I am hoping this will get rid of the horrible weather we are all having!

I think Beth could use a little more of that!

It's not raining here right now. I feel so bad for all the marathoners today. The CFO & Finance Mgr of my office ran today. They are almost done-you can track them online. They are 35K of the 40K complete.

I'm watching 2 of my neighbors daughters this afternoon and evening, as their mother is attempting to run the Boston Marathon as we speak (glad it's her and not me!).
You can track her progress at www.baa.org The rain has stopped for now.

Kitchen parchment is fine. Someone (maybe Ellen) said they use a fresh sheet for every design. I'm going to try that next time.

no still fighting nausesa
:wizard: Hope it ends soon.
