So today was the day for the bowling awards. This was much anticipate in our house. First up was the Bantams. Colby's team (and Summer's too) placed 4th out of 5 teams. All teams got a trophy so they were very pleased
Then came the Prep division
Yep, they took first place in their division. I think there were 8 teams. You should have heard the yelps that came out of those boys when it was announced.
Then it moved on to individual awards. We expected none this year. We were mistaken though
Colby was taken by surprise when he won a trophy for Highest Game with a handicap his score was a 174
Then again we were surprised
When Colby won the most improved player award for Bantams
His teenaged "friend" came over to congratulate him
He had two teenagers that would come to his lane and cheer him on every time he bowled for the last several weeks. He was so small, the youngest bowler out there so he really won a few hearts this year and the roar of the crowd when he won brought tears to my eyes. He will also receive a new bowling ball and bag as a prize with the most improved player award. I guess it makes sense as he had a hard time getting the ball all the way down the lane for at least 1/2 the season and today he bowled his first strike. He has come a long way. He has also been asked to bowl in the state tournament in a couple of weekends. Nick and Hunter were already bowling in it so they knew he would be there.
OK enough bragging from this proud mom. I'm off to work.
